I would recommend Comal Park. The boat ramps are closed there however it is accessible for launching kayaks (at least the website says so): wordcc.com/comal-park/
There is a $30 fee to use Boat Ramp 19, which is only open from 9am - 5pm on the weekends. It is currently closed on the weekdays due to construction and marina re-location.
Development and surrounding communities are using water faster than what is being replenished over the past 6 years. 2021 was the only year the lake went up due to weather system. Unless demand decreases, it will continue to drop. It is now at a record low.
Nat, not much water is sold out of Canyon Lake currently. As you can see, the flow rate is around the 50-70 CFS which is much less than others which is why Canyon Lake is the most constant of the non-constant level lakes. As of 5/8/24: Canyon Lake: 58% full Lake Travis: 38.7% full Lake Buchanan: 60.7% thanks to recent rains however was at 46.4% a month ago. Medina Lake: 2.7% full. Link to flow out of Canyon Lake: waterdata.usgs.gov/monitoring-location/08167800/#parameterCode=00060&period=P7D&showMedian=false
@@TheLakefrontGroup I live in Arkansas and the tailwater outflow of Gillham lake seldom falls below 430 CFS. I have seen it at over 2000 CFS. Can't own lakefront property on this lake. The lake is for everyone's use.
Unfortunately there are no free launches open at the moment. However as we stated in the video, with the extension of 3 of the ramps, more public boat launches will be open longer in future drought situations.
When you loaded you boat back up after being in canyon lake was there a lot of black film on your boat?? I was out there about a month of there and bottom of my boat was covered in black stuff
Enjoyed the video guys! Where would yall recommend launching for a kayak?

Just drove by there last Sunday and it said closed but 18 was open
HOLY SMOKES...
$20 JUST TO LAUNCH A BOAT.
THEY REALLY DIDN'T WANT ANYONE OUTSIDE OF COMAL COUNTY USING THE LAKE.
Thank you. My favorite lake
Are those 2 ramps still open? Planning on going out memorial weekend with the family.
Yes they are. Keep in mind, those 2 ramps are going to be very busy this holiday weekend. Expect a line and get there early.
What are the hours and details on boat ramp 19 same as 18?

@TheLakefrontGroup And yet they just added 3 more suction lines this past year.

Who needs a boat ramp when you can back up from shore to shore without getting your tires wet? No problem.
I think there's a free public boat launch still open.

We didn’t have a film on the boat after we pulled out.
Can’t wait to see an August update
How big is your boat.....
23 feet. It is my favorite model from my favorite brand, the Malibu 23 LSV from Texas Malibu in New Braunfels.
$20 is ridiculous to launch a boat.
As a resident, the Texas hill country is ridiculous.
