All of your quilts are lovely, but I particularly like this one! Your videos are so relaxing. The style of quilts you make are just what I want to sleep under. Please keep making these wonderful videos that are so inspiring.
Each. Week I say., “this might be my favorite” 😂here I go again! I read a comment that said she just can’t help but to want to match. Well my real pleasure is in NOT matching. Even when using a one color scheme, I want each block to be a different shade of that color. Matching takes more time. I have more scrap fabric than large pieces. I could spend hours going through scraps, What fun! Funny, my mom was not a scrappy quilter.
I have started buying 2 spools of a common color thread. I then load one spool onto bobbins and pop everything into a snack size ziplock bag, to store the thread.
Hi Beth, you're such an inspiration! Here's another beauty to add to my list of "must makes". Once you break the block down into smaller steps, I feel much more comfortable giving it a try. Still working on my Christmas quilt. Maybe this one will be next! ❤
I think I was born with a strong preference for matching colors. I remember arguing with my mother, when I was in first grade, about having to wear white knee socks to match my white sweater. And when I quilt, a can only use a couple of colors that match. Watching you do this quilt makes me realize even more how unsure I am about using colors, even though I think scrappy is pretty
I love scrappy blocks too, but have leaned strongly to more defined and smaller colorways. I am starting a couple row quilts to help with practice "scrapping it up" Edit to add: I have yet to see one of your videos that didnt inspire me to start experimenting with things that arent quite my norm, Beth. Thank you for that.
Love how there are so many possibilities with the block arrangements and the multitude of colours and scrap combination. Thank you so enjoyable watching you putting it all together.🌼
This scrappy version came out so pretty. I love the star layout you showed at the end. Thanks a bunch for the great video and inspiration. It is appreciated.
Please make more videos like this. I am now making this quilt...scrappy style. Can you do some videos of how to assemble your favorite quilt blocks ???
What I do if I should start a project, I wing up several bobbins and also sewing needles and I don't run out of tread. My vision is not that great and this help me not to get frustrated when I run out. Happy Sewing. Love this video. Thanks ;Beth and congrats on viewing ch.
Hello Beth, I just love your scrappy quilt it's just beautiful. You absolutely amaze me, you have a gift to sew. I am a perfectionist and it's good therapy for me to watch you. Not everything you do is perfect and yet your quilts are just that, perfect. Thank you for sharing your gift with me. Terri
Absolutely love that block❤️ Endless possibilities. You have beautiful scraps that somehow, magically, seem to blend well. Beth, you always make my day. Thanks ❤️🇦🇺
Orienting the blocks all the same direction still makes stars. I see them as six-pointed stars, kinda lying on their side a little. Like a relaxed Star of David.
Just beautiful Beth, this is going to be my scrappy quilt, I’ve haven’t made a scrappy yet and I have a lot of scraps to get started with. Thanks for sharing x
Well, I agree with a lot of these comments that this is a pretty scrappy quilt top! Of course I want to piece one! You are diligent in your craft! Lovely!
I really love the scrappy versions of these blocks. The star variation is my favourite I think. A lovely video to watch whilst I’m sewing in the ends of my knitting.
thankyou so much. I love this block. I used my 8" go cube and it came out so nice. Now I have a leader and ender for other blocks I am making for the foreseeable future. I love watching your videos. You have a way to make it approachable. and you are quite thorough in your explanations. Only problem now I want a 10" block set.
I feel very stupid. I have made 7 blocks so far and I have to rewatch your video because I get myself all back to front. It is turning into a lovely quilt, just wish I could remember what I'm doing.
Ah ha! I had written the sizes incorrectly. All fixed & finished now and the recipient was happy. Well she said she was going to cry so that's good, isn't it?
Gosh, I need to watch the videos many, many times to follow along. But remember, we as viewers are not editing, not speeding up, etc. Real time sewing for me is very slow going and a process for each project. It's all okay!
I love it! Makes me wish I had a lot of Christmas fabric scraps I think that would be so pretty. Another fabulous quilt. On my list of quilts to make!😀
That’s a really pretty quilt and I so enjoy your videos. I’m very timid about making hst’s. When mine are off just a thread, it bugs me … so … my plan is to conquer them. 🤞
In your next video explain “slowly” how to square up a pieced section with a regular ruler. I never know where to place it to cut all sides evenly if that makes sense.
I use quilting rulers. They have diagonal lines that are very helpful. I will try to slow down next time! Hopefully you can catch me squaring up blocks on some of the other videos on the channel. I don't always speed that part up. 😉
One of my machines is likw yours, a Juki. I have arthritist in my hands and I have a hard time putting the bobbin back in after filling. Very frustrating. Love this quilt and your videos, Beth.
I am a new quilter. I have only completed 2 quilts so far. One was automatically true scrappy pattern of small rectangular blocks. The other was a lap size making applique blocks. What advice would you give me to start compiling a stash of different sizes of scraps? Should I focus on purchasing 1 yard each of many patterns and colours of fabric and cut up each yard? What shapes or sizes would be most useful to make scrappy quilts. I realize you might say that it depends on the pattern but any suggestions would help me.
I like getting fabric from the sale area. There are sometimes smaller pieces at a discount. I don’t think you need 1 yd pieces for scrap quilts.....unless you are using it for the background. If you get the word out that you want to make quilts...you may get some hand me down fabric and that’s always fun!
I had a friend that used to say, I paid for both sides of my fabric, so I'm going to use it. If you need a coordinating color and can't find one, just try using the back side of your fabric. Not all fabrics work. If you use the back in several places you can't tell it's not just the pattern of a fabric.
@@pamela3090 www.amazon.com/shop/mysewingroom thanks for asking! I am still learning and thought it was in my description on all videos.....but maybe not.
Love the patterns you bring us. Your soft voice makes a person feel she can do anything.

I love this quilt. You are fearless in the use of your scraps. Amazing!
Thanks for showing alternate layout. I kinda like the star effect one. So much inspiration here!
I loved the star pattern ♥️ thank you for another awesome tutorial 👏🏻👏🏻
Love the blocks. Scrappy is the best. Sandra B.
Another great scrappy quilt. I love your style.
Beth, you make quilting look so easy! This looks like a fun pattern. I love the scrappiness! 😊👍
That turnedout to be a beautiful quilt. love scrappy!
This will be a future project. I have tons of scraps and will have fun making this, thanks for all your ideas.
That's so lovely. I just love scrap Quilts. 🤩

Just as pretty as the Christmas group. Thank you for the idea.
Such a beautiful quilt! Thank you for sharing this video!
Totally love this block!!!! Thank you for sharing!
Love this video! Thank you.
I love it Beth. As always x
All the blocks in the Christmas sampler were inspirational. I am making a Dutchman Puzzle quilt using the sampler measurements.
So beautiful. I love the scrappy look!!!
I always look forward to your videos!

Thanks! Another gorgeous idea!
Great quilt block ! Thanks ⭐
I hate when the bobbin runs out. I am glad to see an experienced quilter make a mistake! I do it all the time but blamed it on being a newby.
Great quilt!
Another quilt for my bucket list. Thank you

Beautiful quilt coming there Beth Thank you for sharing your relaxed easy way to put everything together x

I love the scrappy look, and love the layout with stars!
Thank you for another awesome video! I love that you showed us other layouts but all one way is my favorite!
Both layouts are so pretty!

Thank you for your informative videos Beth. Is there a way to make this block using 5” squares? I have a lot of charm squares.
I just added the information you requested to the very bottom of description box in this video. 👍
Thank you!
What fabric do use for your design wall?
I used an old flannel sheet. 👍
What is the role your using for a seam ripper?
They are small scissors from a sulky embroidery kit (it’s in my amazon shop) 👌
👏👏👏👍👍👍👌👌👌😍😍😍💕💕💕💕🤗
What do you call those little sizzors you use as a seam ripper?
They are from a “sulky embroidery tool kit” available from SULKY. I just added to my amazon store 👌
