Brett’s 6x6 Landcruiser is certainly something special and we love how the build has turned out. Starting with the obvious, we installed the Jmacx / AEV 6x6 conversion which completely replaces the rear end and features coils all round, lockers and more whilst still being legal Australia wide. By fitting an automatic transmission, we are able to engineer the vehicle with a 5800kg GVM, 4500kg towing and a 10300kg GCM. After the 6x6 conversion was complete we installed all of the more common 4wd accessories before sending the vehicle to Jacksons Australia for its custom, tray, canopy and camper.

Would have been nice to see the transfer case modification for the tandem axle drive.
I'm not 100% sure but, wouldn't both rear axles work at the same time always, transfer case has nothing to do with it would it?
Like imagine the first diff is a 4 point and the second a 3??
Did they ever show driving the 2nd axle? I didn't see it.

Interesting conversion, I actually watched this video in the hope I saw something new to help me do an extention to my Scanis 6x4 prime mover to add a third diff setup on the rear drives, with another difflock of course, making it a true 8x6, I didn't learn anything new watching this tho, I found it one long advertisment for toyota and a camper company.. I don't mind the Alpine gear though and i'll be sure to give that brand another looksy. Thanks,good add .

Don't know much about cars but I gotta ask...is the torque gonna be the same if it's Manual and Automatic transmission ?
No worries! Changing the transmission doesn't change the Torque however it would potentially change the feel of it. To actually change the Torque you would have to modify or tune the engine. Cheers - Media team

I would have a manual
Manual is definitely an option however with the auto we can achieve a higher GVM and towing.

Why put a auto in
The auto is required for the higher GVM, GCM and towing capacity.
