Hi, this is a little clip of two rare and sought after toy sewing machines. One is the Bernina and the other is an Elna Junior. The Elna is musical and Swiss made. It is super smooth to sew with. How I would have loved to have one of these as a child. I hope you all enjoy it and you can always visit me on my Sewalot site.
well Alex you have done it again !!!! Now I just want to hunt an Elna Junior .... Great video, please dont stop making them
I love watching your videos, Alex. I read your book, "Sussex Born and Bred," and found it to be a joy to read.
Thanks for sharing your great collection with us.
I am guesing that you also had a bit of a tear in your eye as well as a high pitched voice coz I heard you catching your breath a bit....fabulous Alex...love your videos....

love it... !!! just great passion. lots of fun.
Very nice video. I am going to buy my wife an Essex or a Grain, lovely machines.
Hi Alex, Fancy seeing you on The Quilt show! Fame at last eh? Hope all is well with you. I've stopped passing your house every day now my daughter's moved to Langney! Regards,
Jan
Oh my...for some reason I cried when you activated the sweet chime.
Really enjoy watching your videos! Thanks :-)
I've just come across the Bernina toy machine at a 'vide grenier' here in Normandy France, and just had to snap it up. I am now going to give it a good clean and see if I can get it to sew.
Adorable toy machines, I want to play with them! And even more, I want to play in your workshop--it's incredible! I have many machines to get ready, can I schedule a year to come over and use your tools and stuff? Of course the machines will only take a month, but it will take me 11 months just to look at everything you have! Thanks so much for sharing with us your knowledge and enthusiasm! Blessings, Cathy in Michigan
Wonderful machines, thank you Alex. The Bernina looks an awful lot like a Necchi toy machine, doesn't it? I hope you get out fishing soon. Have a great day! LJ
As always you have outdone yourself. These are just incredible! You have the most amazing toys, I envy you. Thank you so much for posting, I always love your videos..and as always I am in awe of the stuff in you garage. I still say I would love to be locked in there for the night. I can only dream about having such a well stocked work room. Are you going to be posting these for sale? Your fan, Nancy in California
Adorable!
Hi Laura, Well Necchi were Italian so that could be true. The Bernina has an Italian word on it. Did you notice how my voice went up a pitch when I started sewing! That made me laugh. I had no idea I was doing it. Trout for tea. Alex
Dear Alex,
many thanks for your video and for showing us how well these machines work. We have the small bernina which with a tiny bit of oil is quite silent. Could I ask you a favour; could you please show us how you set the cotton thread on the mini Bernina?
Many thanks in advance.
Regards,
Elena and Fabio
Oh my god, how I envy you!!
You are a fantastic person to share your knowledge with us. Love all your Videos.
I was wondering if you could tell me what size a bobbin the Little Worker by New Home?
Did Boye make one of them for that machine??
Hi Alex, are you able to help with any tips on how to get the bernina toy machine to do a stitch without massive loops underneath? I have no instructions, but threaded it after watching this video. :-)
We have just found the Bernina Childs sowing machine in the loft with the green carry case! Is it worth selling?
Their is a higher chance that it is from Switzerland
