Excellent review. Thanks for naming everything in the signal chain, even the mic in front of the amp speaker, the pedal settings and which pick up position is in use. Some reviewers just talk too much and then play without any signal chain, amp, pick up or pedal settings believe it or not. Also nice varying of more than one guitar and pedal settings to show extremes. Special mention to your single note phrasings, rhythm licks and ending on open chords. Your phrasing is very interesting and uncommon to my ear, which is great. Always nice to hear new stuff. Ending on an open chord to let the setting ring out is a great demo technique. Too many reviewers just do single note lines in the highest register without any mid range, bass or full six string tones, again, believe it or not. Full disclosure about not being a good paid review but is a free pedal is clear and appreciated. Not knowing the price of the pedal adds credibility to your reaction to the quality of the pedal sounds. Nice work.
Hi just another comment.. I tend to get my NU-X gear from the guys at Zebra Muzic.. I recently got a Steel Singer from them. I only tested it as its a gift from my son for Xmas. What I can recommend is a Les Paul bridge pickup into the Steel Singer with gain at 9 o clock volume between 12.00 and 1 o clock filter around midway.. That was through an orange amp with clean tone but on the edge of breakup.. First if all Adjust your amp so it's breaking up then back it off. Keep amp tone controls in the middle..then set the pedal as above... Remember to let the pedal do the work. Alternatively take the amp into break up and back your guitar volume to 8. If you want a soaring lead solo sound whack the guitar volume up to 10... Just let the pedal do most of the work... Your guitar volume is a great free gain control if the other stuff is set right... Use it!!! ..And most of all, have fun.. You'll want to play better if you sound good.... If it gets you out of bed in the morning, you're on track and will soon be flying.. ROCK ON GUYS... GOOD LUCK George....!!!
