Building Construction 101 for Firefighters

Basic fundamentals when entering any fire department is utilizing skills learned from Essentials basic training such as building construction and recognition. Recognition can help the company and units provide more information on attack and procedures of how a fire might act and react in certain methods of extinguishment.

Laminated I Joist are 60% glue & go up in flames rapidly. They also fail or collapse in a matter of minutes when exposed to flame. Some fire departments are requiring a label in various neighborhoods that have installed them.
