I listened to this while doing something else on the computer. It is a very well written/produced drama that could have been enjoyed on the radio.

Another cracking episode. I loved the moment of unintentional humour: question to housekeeper, "What colour was the van?". "Orange". (witness shown black and white photo of a van). "Yes, that's it!". And wasn't that Mr Bean on the jury?

Watching these at random. Among other things I love to see the actors I can recognise. A biggie this time with Simon Callow. Great work from the uploader!!!

Thanks again Jez - a very unusual case in the series with the defendant being charged with being an accessory rather than principal offender.

I don't think the judge liked the verdict!

Oh how court procedure has changed. Now days the judge would admonish the defence for not objecting to several of the prosecutors questions. At least two she was asking the opinion of the witness what others thought and at least one about the mental health of another for which he was not qualified.

Another great episode Jez, thank you. The verdict was absolutely the right one, want to say more but don't want to give it away! Saving An Englishman's Home for tonight, just two today lol. I'm a Hammer Horror fan and know Thorley Walters from those films, so it will be two episodes featuring him today (I saw the outstanding "Home" the other day). I agree Caroline Blakiston's character is scary, I know her as Lady Constance from Brass and if I remember rightly she played Aunt Agatha in the new version of Poldark.

Defence Counsel George Unwin may also be the "Billy" Unwin who was the judge in (among others) Personal Credit, as he was played by Thorley Walters in both roles.

There are no 'prisons for the criminally insane'; institutions such as Broadmoor are NHS hospitals, though the security is high and 'prisonlike'

Michael.J. Jackson. He played a similarly posh vegetarian replacement driver in Sweeney 2. Regan tells him to fill the glove box with junk food and sweets.

Michael Jackson (the actor) also turned up as Flying Squad driver and terminal vegetarian Robert (not Bob) Soames in the movie Sweeney 2 around this time, to the bane of DI Jack Regan, "The squad will be eating hamburgers, frankfurters and Colonel Sanders fried chicken!" 🤣🤣
