Social Work: BSW and MSW

Tahnee Baker, assistant teaching professor and baccalaureate program coordinator at ASU’s School of Social Work, started her career as a social worker in her tribal community. After receiving her PhD, Baker became an educator, teaching the next generation of social workers. With social workers being the largest provider of mental health services in the country, it has become one of the fastest-growing professions. Our social work programs provide students with knowledge and hands-on experience to create change in their communities. “We need more social workers. Social work is everywhere. Social work is in education, in hospital settings, in hospice settings. Really, from before the start of life till the end of life,” Baker said. “Our faculty really strive to connect and work closely with our students and to provide support for our students, so that they can be successful within their classes, successful within their practicum experience and eventually successful within their social work careers.”
