  • Certainly! Here are some important safety instructions for driving:
    1. Buckle Up: Always wear your seatbelt and ensure that all passengers do the same.
    2. Stay Alert: Avoid distractions like texting, and stay focused on the road.
    3. Obey Speed Limits: Adhere to posted speed limits and adjust your speed for road conditions.
    4. Maintain a Safe Following Distance: Keep a safe distance behind the vehicle in front of you to allow for sudden stops.
    5. Use Turn Signals: Signal your intentions when changing lanes or making turns.
    6. Observe Traffic Signs and Signals: Follow traffic signals and obey road signs.
    7. Don't Drink and Drive: Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
    8. Check Your Blind Spots: Use your mirrors and turn your head to check blind spots when changing lanes.
    9. Stay within Your Lane: Maintain your lane discipline and avoid weaving in and out of traffic.
    10. Be Mindful of Weather Conditions: Adjust your driving to suit the weather, whether it's rain, snow, or fog.
    11. Give Way to Pedestrians: Yield the right of way to pedestrians at crosswalks and intersections.
    12. Use Your Horn Sparingly: Honk your horn only to alert other drivers of your presence, not as a form of frustration.
    13. Avoid Aggressive Driving: Stay calm and patient, and avoid road rage.
    14. Regular Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure your vehicle is well-maintained with working brakes, lights, and tires.
    15. Stay Informed About Road Conditions: Be aware of road closures, accidents, or construction on your route.
    16. Use Hands-Free Devices: If you need to use your phone, use a hands-free device to minimize distractions.
    17. Be Courteous: Show respect and courtesy to other drivers on the road.
    18. Plan Your Route: Know your route in advance and have a backup plan in case of unexpected detours.
Remember, safe driving not only protects you but also the people around you. Always prioritize safety on the road.

Allot of these are the truckers fault and almost all are preventable. Those four wheelers don’t know any better but the truckers should.

Cars should know better. Trucks don't stop quickly and people know that. Over half of these aren't the trucks fault

When I approach a big rig on the highway, I never disappear into his blind spot. I will either speed up to get by it quickly, or fall far behind. If I am at a stop, I watch my rear view mirror like a hawk. That applies to cars and light trucks. I drive like everyone is out to hit me. I tell people that I have two eyes in back of my head, one on either side of my head and the two eye balls I came equipped with at birth. I've been driving since 1978, and I can tell you drivers today are 10 times worse than they've ever been.

You are absolutely correct! Do not linger!
I always avoid pulling into ANY vehicle's blind spots ~ especially 18 wheelers!

My husband always says: When you take your driving test you need to see what happens to a car if you are hit by a truck. Be aware and LOOK before you proceed. I think about (semi) load shifts and the headaches that arise from stupid 4-wheelers not being patient OR aware. Just sayin'.

There is no way that most of these guys are operating under the ata guide line....following distance/eye elevation is out the window ...would love to see what they are going from the driver camera...

ATA guidelines? 😂😂 The ATA is just a group of mega carriers who's sole purpose is to lobby congress to pass legislation that will drive small businesses out of business. Those guidelines are a PR stunt to sucker low iq members of the public into thinking the ATA are good guys.

I now believe truckers are danger on the highways. Always falling asleep while driving. Should be thrown in jail and license revoked.

    • @t00early
      @t00early 28 дней назад +1

As a driver, I would agree. Most falling asleep accidents with drivers happen at the end of long days. Our day can start at any hour of the day. Be it midnight or noon. What about cars? Should they be thrown in jail and lose their license and job too. Most car accidents are by bad drivers. Most car drivers that fall asleep happen on the way to work or coming home from work. I work 12-14 hrs a day, 5-6 days a week. Most people work 8 hrs a day 5 days a week. Accidents happen and people should be held accountable. But there is a lot more car drivers that are bad than bad truck drivers.
