His timing is incredible on this track and his voice and guitar playing, as usual, are just superb. I have been playing for over 38 years now and can't even approach his guitar playing. Wonderful, magical musicianship. Thank you for this video.
Jose was certainly unique. He had an individual style & brought something new & different to the world of music. I've heard this song played & sung many ways & Jose does great justice to it. This man's truly phenomenal. His music is quite moving & his voice unforgettable.
Same here! He was at the Front Row Theater on the east side of Cleveland sometime in the late 70s, and the opening act for Gordon Lightfoot (RIP), believe it or not. I got to see two great performers on the same night. It was fantastic.
there will never be another artist like Jose Feliciano he was a symbol of the most beautiful decade in history l mean the sixties when hopes and love where still alive in this world ...
I love this song. I have 3 albums by him and I like his version of every song he does. My mother didn't like his stuff at all and I had to listen to his music in bedroom when I was a teenager.
Kakva privilegija 1979 negdje siječanj V. Lisinski koncert za pamcenje gledati slušat svjetskog virtuoza, jedino je ozvučenje štekalo to su bili dani koji su duboko pohranjeni duboko u srcu i duši, hvala veliki Jose... long life ti želim❤️...
Jose was the main reason I took up playing Classical guitar in my teens. Feliciano was one of the first to go mainstream playing a nylon strung classical guitar with his unique and instantly recognisable vocal . A phenomenal musician and outstanding performer.
Expert: then, & now..💜💧💜 THANK YOU, agnet, FOR THIS ! His Oscar Performance, of this, &, whole career, were a generational-influence... that i was luckily, young enough to have time for it, & in a position to see it.... 🙏
Love the music...been listen to these countless time but still can't comprehend the meaning. So deep so loving. Many thanks to the great Jose Feliciano for his timeless songs.
He puts so much soul into this. So much better than the Noel Harrison version. Jose seems to put his own slant on every cover he does and makes it his own. Such a talented artist.
JOSE FELICIANO SINGS THIS SONG WITH PLENTY OF SOUL & PASSION. OF THE 50 OR SO VERSIONS I'VE HEARD OVER THE YEARS, HIS IS THE ONLY ONE I WILL LISTEN TO AGAIN & AGAIN.
magnificent and amazing....miss the old days and "these" moments and songs and great musicians who make it magical...(another musicians opinion of course seventy five years later)
He was really someone outstanding from what we listened in mid 70's (I was 14) - DP, Nazareth Led Zeppelin and others, who were, and still are, really GREAT!!! But this gay deserves a special place in wold's music history.
Loved this man from the moment I heard his voice many years ago.. Such understanding of the words, this is a very special song and Jose does it perfectly.. I'm off now to search for Nature Boy on RUclips, I know I'll find it but anybody who doesn't know it, please try. Thank you ognet for this precious posting.
@@frankmartinez2655 Right song of course, RUclips never fails me I found the Feliciano version . Nat King Cole had a wonderful voice but there's something so special in Jose's voice, a little catch that still takes my breath after all these years. Good music never dies! Thanks for your reply.
Its so mind boggling how he wasn't eaven considered by rolling stone magazine to be among the best 100 guitar players of all times. Jose might bw blind but the people from rolling stone must be deaf if they can't hear this guys talent.
The great song is always something about each of us, something we never said to anyone, and it is true. That what makes it a Great Treasure, and what makes us to feel good about it.
His voice sounds beautiful 🤩 He plays the windmills of your mind in the 70’s He never gives up He is blind but good His first performance in 1962 for school he played in a trio He wrote his first when he was 10 years old he was playing for school called I’m rocking and a rolling He did some acting parts Like he played Rico Martinez in McMillan and wife And he played in Kung Fu And scored for a movie called Aaron Loves Angela We wrote the song for Chico And The Man themed song And he wrote a Spanish song that was popular to him in his neighborhood He said he would love to Spain and Segovia He’s also been away from his guide dog Trudy because quarantine laws His favorite guitar player John Willams And he’s also entertained Australia like with Frank Sinatra and stuff Other hits like light my fire, California dreaming ,ain’t no sunshine ,Feliz Navidad Born in layers Puerto Rico 1945
I'm glad I listened to this one. A far more interesting artist than Noel Harrison especially so with this song. There was more feelings shown despite the fact that his eyes were obscured by his dark glasses, and truly provoked a feeling of authenticity, evoking all too familiar and tangent emotions and sensations that we experience in our everyday life however mundane or meaningful they may be. Noel H., on the other hand, undermined this song, with his restless eyes and nonexistent emotions.
no one guitarist on this worls can be so incredible like JOSE FELICIANO withi is inimitable style and wide range. No one. No one can play on the same level like him from classical to flamenco, from jazz to folk, pop, latin, rock and hard rock also (see his blow-mind version of Purple Haze), no one can play like him with from the Vienna Simphony orch. to the same Jimi Hendtrix, Fingerstyle to plectro. From classical nylon guitar to Cuatro or Acuostic steel or electric. With good peace of RS mag
I agree. he plays rock and roll on a nylon string guitar for example, and when it comes to rock and roll music we usually think of an electric guitar or a steel strings guitar. His strumming is hard and beautiful, he does bendings on nylon strings guitar and so on. He plays everything and besides HE SINGS TOO, better than many recognized guitarists. He has been underrated or ignored (I do not know how to say this in english) but he deserves to appear in the rolling stone magazine, hall of fame, etc. as one of the best guitarist and beside this, as a singer and composer. He tooks something ordinary and turns into something extraordinary. He has lights into his hands. Gifted by god with this amazing talent. Purple haze performed by him is amazing.
Is he better than Julian Bream? Or Al di Meola? Or than Paco de Lucia was? Who cares, tbh. It's music, pointless to argue whether one great better than another. Feliciano is a magnificent artist, a great player, a wonderful singer, with a real artistic flair as an interpreter.
Playing a casette of his on the car radio all the way from Oslo to London 1969. Never forgot his music. Then I was 19, now I am 74.
The bitter sweetness of the passage of time.
Jose doesn't get the props he deserves. Its not just his guitar playing, its that VOICE. He really is a giant.
Agreed. Does he sing his guitar, or play his voice? He's a one-man orchestra!
His timing is incredible on this track and his voice and guitar playing, as usual, are just superb. I have been playing for over 38 years now and can't even approach his guitar playing. Wonderful, magical musicianship. Thank you for this video.

What do you mean was??? Dude’s still alive and kicking it.
😊
A moving rendition of a sweet and mystical song. Jose is a superb talent.
I saw Jose perform this song around 45 years ago at Blossom Music Center in Cleveland. A moving performance that I'll never forget.
Jose supreme my favorite singer player ever he is great Rock special this so so beautiful song truly incredibile, thank's dear Jose Feliciano...
He was marvelous. Many thanks for this version of his beautiful, transcendent song.
I was very lucky to see Jose Feliciano in the late 70’s, Mesmerising!
Lucky you! Have you You-Tubed Nature Boy? Heart-rending! What a voice, eh?
Same here! He was at the Front Row Theater on the east side of Cleveland sometime in the late 70s, and the opening act for Gordon Lightfoot (RIP), believe it or not. I got to see two great performers on the same night. It was fantastic.

Happy to listen again! This song was one of my favorit song from the album, the Best of Jose fericiano at my age of 19. I’m 67 now.
One of my favourite male artists- he is one of a kind! 👉💎💎💎💎💎👈
I love this song. I have 3 albums by him and I like his version of every song he does. My mother didn't like his stuff at all and I had to listen to his music in bedroom when I was a teenager.
Jose's interpretation captures all the majesty and haunting beauty in the music and lyrics: Fantastic :)

I loved him from the first time i heard him. I am a dancer and he makes me dance with my soul each time i hear him sing.
Brings back the 70s of my youth. Jose is memories, joy, happiness and sorrow! Wonderful... Like the windows of my mind
Jose was the main reason I took up playing Classical guitar in my teens. Feliciano was one of the first to go mainstream playing a nylon strung classical guitar with his unique and instantly recognisable vocal . A phenomenal musician and outstanding performer.
I gotta live forever - if only to keep coming back to this posting, this artist and his song!
It's a cover, but a good one.

He puts so much soul into this. So much better than the Noel Harrison version. Jose seems to put his own slant on every cover he does and makes it his own. Such a talented artist.
Like California Dreaming and Light my Fire
And I've never heard Nature Boy like Jose sings it, he plays his voice like a musical instrument. Magic!

"There was a boy a very strange and enchanting boy"..Nature Boy by Nat King Cole in 1947. If this be the Nature Boy quarry you asked.
@@frankmartinez2655 Right song of course, RUclips never fails me I found the Feliciano version . Nat King Cole had a wonderful voice but there's something so special in Jose's voice, a little catch that still takes my breath after all these years. Good music never dies! Thanks for your reply.
I knew his name,but never took notice of his music,till now...what a revelation,truly amazing!

Yeah what he said
Mark Pettigrew I would like to say that these three performers are three of the best in the world.
I heard him perform at a small venue at Mohegan Sun amidst the ringing of the slot machines. He was still great.
