I am also a big fan of u ..the way u explain each bits of Music is awesome....I learned many things from u and ur videos....an humble request to u once u have time please listen this song I tried to sing...and comment
Absolutely brilliant observation, Maddy. I had heard those songs but had never realised the intricacies and genius of Pancham behind them. Many thanks for enlightening us. 🙏
We all been enjoying Pancham for decades but your analysis has added new curiosity, understanding, enthusiasm and dimension making the music even more enjoyable
As usual excellent explaining. For Pancham fan you r making us understand Pancham in a very big way which I had not known till I saw your channel. Thank You very much. Keep it up
Fantastic, Sir! I know a bit of Tabla and I am big fan of Flamenco / Bossa Nova rhythm too. But, all these because I like the sound and the mix of on/off beats. From you, now I am beginning to understand the technicalities. Thank you _Nadiya Se Dariyan_ has very interesting beat pattern. Some day, please elaborate that too.
Great observation and well presented with examples. I had noticed the 2nd beat emphasis on waltz in Yeh jo mohobbat hai, but never associated that with Rajesh Khanna's drinking. Pancham surely had such attention to detail.
As usual, an unique articulation . The explanation is so lucid laced with verbal demonstration that even a non musical person will have no difficulty in understanding. Hats off
Very fine observation indeed, well explained rhythm pattern of drunkards.. But ignorant people just doesn't understand the creativity and innovation of Pancham Da but in jealously a section of people are hell bent upon branding Pancham Da a copycat, which is grossly unfair...
Ab Jo Mile Hai toh. Sung by asha .. From Karwa...even roop tera Mastana... Thus songs too on similar lines ... Anyways. Nice observations... I think it Seems pancham use this note for sensuous and boozerd type of songs....
A very happy birthday to Pancham Tantra, Madhav Sir, I had noted the date of formation of Pancham Tantra from your About page, I added it in my reminders. Pancham Tantra has been a source of class, beauty & meritful scholarliness of the field of Pancham. Each of your 48 videos have been a showset of deep hardwork & meticulousness, your own skill in music & passion for research has produced gemmy insights in Pancham Da's music. Kindly stay the same devoted & loving towards Pancham Da work, we need your tantra passionately.
Just came across this channel. Absolutely love the videos. This is so informative. Panchamda’s songs are a treasure. Thank you for sharing the intricacies and anecdotes of Panchamda..
@Sunny Same here what you have said. RD'S songs are a treasure. When Teesri Manzil released, Sammi Kapoor was very big star n as a primary school student i went to watch the movie in small town paying just 15 paise for gallery gandhi class ticket. When film started Pancham's background music took off and the first duet track took us to dizzy heights and through out movie we were enjoying and freaking out on Songs. The revolutionary music director born n from then on our journey with RD Burman began. He was ahead of his time. Collaboration with Kishoreda Ashaji was awsome. Tessri Manzil , pyar ka mausam Padosan, Amar prem, Kati patang ,gulzar films , HKSKN, Sholay satte pe satta just to name few never got film fare best music composer award then and we were very Angry. Hail Pancham 🙏 the wizard genius.
I have a genuine question for you. Recently read a comment "RD Burman doesn't deserve anything. Most of his songs are copied". What is your take? To what extent this is true? Please do a video with objectivity. You have great knowledge about RD and music. Thanks

Can you please explain the rhythm pattern in Anewala pal janewala hai from Golmaal. Also the use of maadal and congo bongo combinations in the songs Kaanta lagaa from Samadhi And Gori ke haath me from Mela?
But why drunken beats used in satte pe Satta song when Amitabh is not singing after drinking or tipsy. I think maybe previously it was in script or maybe Pancham thought it's party song where Amitabh is drinking so..., But Kishore style of singing is not tipsy...maybe Raj Sippy can shed on this

Sure bhai. Mehbooba Mehbooba was inspired from the Demi Roussos song Say You. You can enjoy Demi's original creativity here - ruclips.net/video/bkYEAiOjxvU/видео.html Here is some more for you. 😉 Michalis Violaris in turn was singing a traditional Cyprus Folk tune. And now one more - We know Demi because of Mehbooba. But the Firangs today enjoy R D Burman more. It is only Foreign Indians (am sure you are not one of them) who love to run him down. You can listen to some foreign bands actually realising the value of MEHBOOBA...something many Indians did not see...Check here - ruclips.net/video/bnh7pCWGK-M/видео.html And here - ruclips.net/video/-0uaI1cID9Y/видео.html And here - ruclips.net/video/vtSbroSS4-0/видео.html Some more stuff for you to think about - COPY is the first step of Inspiration. There can never be Inspiration without first copying something which you feel like getting inspired from. Violaris sang a folk tune. The world's progress is because of people who took something that was already there and made it better. People like R D Burman. What IS is a copy...what CAN BE is Inspiration.
