Tia Nik “Birds are a group of feathered theropod dinosaurs, and constitute the only living dinosaurs. Likewise, birds are considered reptiles in the modern cladistic sense of the term, and their closest living relatives are the crocodilians. Birds are descendants of the primitive avialans (whose members include Archaeopteryx) which first appeared about 160 million years ago (mya) in China.” From Wikipedia. It’s important to note that “Dinosaur” refers to an entire class of animals like how Mammals and Reptiles also refer to an entire class.

Joe Battiloro Me too. I love reptiles a lot, but I highly doubt you can form a bond with an alligator. It’s not a pet. When it gets big I really hope they don’t keep it in the house or let children around it.

Reptiles physically do not have the part of the brain that feels love, but they ARE capable of things like familiarity and preference, which is basically their way of having love. That said keep it fed, because instinct is strong. Also expect nips and accidents, because INSTINCT IS STRONG.

Actually sedation makes animals more stressed and aggressive.
