Hello from the fifth continent.......my ford diesel is currently returning 51.8mpg.....I recently saw an ad for octopuss energy home charger at £899 ....I worked out at about £1.35L that would take me about 8800 miles in cost for diesel........with the extra cost of purchasing an ev, the cost of public charging and that of installing a home charger......at what point does an ev owner start to save on running costs????
There is also a potential problem when fitting a home charger. Some semidetached houses have the electric supply linked/looped. In these circumstances a charger can be fitted but there is a chance the neighbours supply can be overloaded. It’s unlikely to happen but the regulations require the supplies to be separated. Someone I know was in this position. They applied to their electric supplier to have the supply separated. Unfortunately the main power supply was on the opposite side of a main road. In order to carry out this work the road needed to be closed for 5 nights. The quote was for £20000, that’s right twenty thousand pounds. Not everyone will have a main road to contend with but they still could have a very large bill to separate the supply
It is Pixham Ferry Lane. There used to be a foot passenger ferry that took people across to the Kempsey side, many years ago. You can see where it departed from, just to the left of where you normally park. I've swum in the river at that exact spot; not when it was as high as today though.
I feed the swans when I’m having a pint at my local pub which is next to a canal. Mum & Dad swan have 7 beautiful offspring. I fed them with 2kg of floating bird food pellets. They ate the lot and then all bobbed about blissfully on the canal.

I’ve seen one once, on the Little Stour, which runs through a village near Canterbury, where we used to live.
