    this video was SO helpful. i just got capped (a year later after this video lol), and i've never cried harder in my life. i'm definitely going to appeal, and am going to try my hardest to get admitted now. the way you spoke heart-to-heart at the end of the video really helped calm my nerves/anxieties. thank you so so much for this.

    Thank you so much for this video!! I've just been denied from my dream school and I'm in a weird situation where I have to get into the schools sister school for the program I want to do. I got in to the hard one that is selective on art portfolios, but denied from the easier school because of my grades. I'm appealing with the other director of admissions advocating for my appeal. It helps me so much to see other people get appeals accepted.

    Thanks for this video. I have a quick question; do you personally believe that food insecurity is a viable extenuating circumstance? My grades were rather low during my freshman year due to my both of my parents becoming unemployed. I started off high school with a 2.7, as it was rather difficult to prioritize my academic success when you’re unsure when your next meal will be. However, my parents found work towards the end of my sophomore year, and my grades in junior and senior year reflected this. I had around a 4.17 in junior year and a 4.83 in my senior year. I managed to increase my gpa to a 3.6, and I’ve taken around 12 or 13 aps. Sorry for the lengthy text, but my main question is if food insecurity is a valid explanation for my situation? Thanks

    • @partyrocker404
      @partyrocker404 3 года назад +1

      I am not the maker of this video but as someone who is planning on appealing their transfer decision I personally feel like that is a completely valid extenuating circumstance. I know you have probably already submitted that appeal by now but I just wanted to say that it is amazing that you were able to academically recover like that and I am proud of you and regardless of what they say you should also be proud of that. it is horribly unfair that one bad year in high school can have such a major impact on your gpa.

    In terms of the formatting of your appeal, did you write it in a more narrative and anecdotal style like your original application essays. Or was this more alongside an informational text listing developments and attributing to your growth?

    • @whatdidlinzsay3046
      @whatdidlinzsay3046  3 года назад +6

      more informational i would say. you want to get to all your points and present facts. however, you also can't really portray your development without somewhat being "narrative and anecdotal". but i would just keep in mind to be objective

    • @lianamena4274

      Hi!! So once you meet all the CAP requirements, you pretty much create a new application. (A short essay, new letters of rec, etc.) On this application, you can apply to your first-choice major. For example, you would put Mccombs school of business as your first choice, but as your second choice, you would put liberal arts in which you have a guaranteed spot.
