Most of South east asia is very genetically diverse.. They would have large influx of Chinese, Indian and arabic genetic ancestry from the extensive trade routes that flowed via the straits.. There are some really interesting genetic papers on this
Yes but it did not impact the whole genetic of modern Thai people as u can see from appearance of thai modern day thai look somewhat mongoloid or south east asians even their actors who are mix look somewhat thai but kix of something which is hard to tell first glance theyblook pretty thai just with fairer skin tone
I hate this idea of keep saying this and that Thai actor is "of Chinese descent". Do you call an Australian White actor 'of English descent" or an Argentinian footballer 'of Spanish descent'? . The best Oscars actress 2024 is Michelle Yeo, a MALAYSIAN. The Malays would doubt their fellow ethnic Chinese Malaysians if the Chinese community emphasized she is Chinese. The survival and achievements of ethnic Chinese in South East Asia - China has contributed nothing but on the contrary caused disasters to them in the last century. It is our adopted country like Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, etc. that had bestowed our ancestors a safe haven to build our new homes and allowed us to build our business and career freely. I hate China people keep accusing us of not supporting the China today and not admitting we are 'Chinese' (China people) and not being loyal to our 'motherland'. Our motherland fatherland is Thailand / Malaysia / Singapore / Philippines, etc. I don't mention Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos because China exported the communist venom to them and the Chinese lost their generation-built career and wealth overnight and suffered massacre, labour camps and deportation. Indian Chinese today are very poor and its Chinatown is in ruins because of China - invaded India in 1962 and Chinese became scapegoats. Happened in Indonesia 1965 too. When Chinese suffered persecution and bloody riots, China has never given a helping hands. Don't believe in lies fabricated by some who said China did.

Saint suppapong is also a mix genetically,chinese and thai. According to my observation his physical structure mostly chinese oriented, with thai features. He is undoubtedly very beautiful and smartest. It is always good to have mixed structures rather than mono structures, then there will be less racism.

We can have rush malai in Bangkok too, in Indian restaurants in Pauhrat and Pratunam. So many times went to have roti and butter chicken, a bit spicy and more oily, still love the taste.

Oversea chinese in Thailand is about 10 million ,it's the second after Taiwan , but the real total population of thai-chinese mixed is about 40 million ,with the total population is 70 million . So chinese is the biggest ethnic group in Thailand .

Actually the Kra-dai the largest genetic group in Thailand have the most genetic connections to South Asia, including NE states of India.. Culturally of course China has had a larger influence in the last millennium cause of large land borders

The only actors I know that are mixed is Benjamin, Bright and Perth. Benjamin's father is British and Bright's father is American. I don't know about Perth though. The reason why Pavel Phoom can speak English so well, is because he lived in New Zealand for 4 years.
U mean Perth Nakhun Screaigh? His father is Australian. Mother is Thai. He attended university in Western Australia. Also Perth fluent in Japanese.

This is where this video is miss leading. Saying one is American is very broad and that literally can mean anything. American isn't a Race or an Ethnic background meaning you can be American and still be 100% Filipino or 100% Korean, etc. It's a Nationality meaning you either are American or you aren't. (Essentially it is where one holds citizenship.) There is no half or quarter American. People seem to automatically associate American to being white but that is far from the truth. The USA is a country built of immigrants. Only the Native Americans are indigenous to the USA. All the white people from over 400+ years ago were British Colonists. If you hear American and they are white, it means that their ancestors came from one of the 50+ ethnic groups that are Caucasian like German, Irish, Italian, etc.
For example I'm 75% Filipino and 25% Chinese. I'm American but I'm not white at all. That's what I mean by broad. I was just born in the USA so I have American Citizenship, which is what the term actually means or it could also mean that you are from a Country in North America, Central America or South America.
This proves beyond a doubt that racial diversification can be and is a most wonderful endeavor indeed. And, even the young actor with Thai and Japanese national duality most handsomely seems to apply as well.

I think the reason people say Thai - American or Japanese - American, etc. is because one of their parents is American by nationality. Basically, when two people from two different countries have a kid, that kid has a possibility of like dual citizenship. So, its not just because they they only think of white when they think American, because you can have immigrant parents but if you're born in the states your American. Period. It's a little hard to explain.

Vietnamese is not that different from Thai. Both ethnic groups share many similarities in their culture and both countries are near to each other.
Mixed race can hardly be applied to Nanon. Since when did having two asian parents make you comparable to a half white? Being visibly asian is different.
@@rebeccablackvirus975 From what I read, only one grandparent of Nanon is Vietnamese. Meaning, he is 3 quarters Thai. But like what I pointed out in my comment above, both Thais and Vietnamese have many cultural similarities including their looks so there is not much diff.

My daughter-in-law is Filipina and she told me that all the successful (and beautiful) artists in the Phillipines are mixed race. And not to brag, my grandson is a gorgeous little Filipino-Aussie.

Thai-Chinese is the major ethnic in thailand. Thai people have mixed chinese blood about 40 million from 70 million of the total population.
The ones who were brought up in Thailand are like native, however, an equal number spent their schooling abroad and only come back to study the college and university, they can understand spoken ones, but mostly Bangkok accent only. The northern accent or the southern accent is different with some different words too.

It's going to be hard to find any bl actors that is full thai, lol. Thai actors are full of half and mixed race, especially Thai-Chinese. And it's going to be really hard to distinguish a full thai from thai-chinese in this day and age.
People who has dark skin, slanted eyes, thick eyebrows, kinda bold looking face are mostly full Thai.

The facial feature can be varied tho. There are many chinese with darker skin, and slanted eyes is a facial feature that is associated with chinese lineage in thai perspective.

Do people really consider American as a Race? The region of the world consists of many races. You can say they are White American and whatever else. We have Asian American which we break down to Chinese American, Japan American, Spanish American and so on. Ben is Thai and British White. Please remember that.

May I ask what does the "American" part mean? Because unless you mean Native American, the discussion just opened up for a long look on the racial and ethnic backgrounds of what Americans are made of. For example, a white American could be from Scottish, Irish, Germanic, Baltic, Slavic etc., in terms of genetic mix it could be still be Thai-German, Thai-Irish etc. So just saying "American" only highlights their nationality, not the genetic makeup they are actually mixed with.
It's referenced more towards the nationality part, as 'White' North/South Americans and Australians/NZdrs have European ancestry. Drake's ancestry is German and Scottish. About Bright, he has never mentioned his ancestry.

Well, it is known for sex tourism, so not kind of unusual. I'm assuming, many Thai women married tourists or foreigners in Thailand. This is true of many south-east Asian countries. Women prefer a better life and preferably a white guy who can give them that.
@@blcritic Have you even been to Thailand? Thais are very different looking from foreigners. Most of them aren't even pale-skinned. They are darker. The people in Bls and other dramas don't represent the majority of Thais...with regard to their looks. That is why, they have this bias for actors of a mixed race. Because those actors look different from the local population.

No because that's not what this video is. Multi nationalities would just mean they lived in different countries. Nationality is just about where you live. This is about ethnicity so race is technically a correct term to use, however the could have also used the term mixed ethnicity
