I like this video and how she explains because some people might struggle soak info up i also love corned beef hash weather on its own or in a pie its propper hearty food i love mine with beans and a few chips.
ok that is the closest thing to my poppas camping goulash that i have seen and you said bean what a great idea to make a pie I won't have to use toast thank you
I add Worcester sauce when I make it, even a squeeze of brown sauce works really well. I use leeks and onions but otherwise very similar. Going to make it this week.
In the start of video you sead to let the corn beef cool in the tin do you cook it if so how please i really want to try this Recipe and i live in Australia and i can only get Tom Piepper tin corn beef and it has a lot of fat will it still work kind regards Peter Rose
Hi, Peter. not familiar with Tom Pepper corned beef. but when you take it out of the tin try and cut off all the fat you can....before you add it to the cooked potatoes and onion mixture then let the mixture go cold before you add it to the pastry....alternately if you can buy slices of corned beef and it’s leaner then you could use that too. Good luck. 👍
As long as the left over portion its kept in the fridge until required the pastry shouldn't go soft, provided it is re-heated on a baking tray or a tin/enamel plate at 180c it should be fine or make smaller pies and freeze until needed.
Hi,look forward to making this pie. Can you say how many grams are in the tin of beef, and the oven is it 180C or 200C for the baking of the pie. Thanking you
I know this video is 5 years old, but I like plain cooking so I after watching this video i went online to Amazon UK and did a search for Patricia Mathews book and I only got one 'hit' " grandmas antique recipes" So it wasn't available in paperback, so I downloaded the Kindle version. Unfortunately this book does NOT contain this corned beef recipe. It has what look like excellent recipes for all kinds of cakes, even Xmas cake, but nothing like CBeef, or any of the 'savoury dishes i was expecting, you know tings like shepherd's pie, leek and chicken pie etc, so be warned. It is a pleasant read albeit, if you want to know about Bolton and a bit of Mrs Mathews background, but I was a bit dissapointed.
At lasta great cook on you tube !!!!! xxxxx
Good old fashioned cooking, you can't beat it.

When you drop the WRONG NAME
try with mince beef instead of corned beef
Yep works just as well with lean mince steak.
kitti kat try using corn mince then let it cool
