Very helpful. I bought my 1st serious (expensive) ukulele a couple of months ago, expecting it to be perfect.. it wasn't. I was told that dull, clunky notes on some frets was probably a high fret here and there. When I came to measure the string height however, I found it way lower than recommended. So I'm hoping this will cure it. Many thanks.
Thank you for your excellent video. Entertaining and informative. I Just purchased a Lanikai baritone flame maple. I love everything about it except the intonation is not consistent at the octave. The action is obviously too high. It has a truss rod for neck adjustments but im not comfortable doing that by myself. Anuway thanks again.
@@DiannMoonlight As long as you have tiny files. I used a tip cleaner that has every different size. Its a tedious job. File a bit put the string back on. Still too high? Do it again! Just don't go too low. It will start to buzz. Check each fret to make sure no buzz. If its buzzing then you've gone too far. Might need another nut. If you don't want to do it yourself, you could take it to a luthier and get them to do it. Not sure of the cost, but ask before hand.
I bought a Cordoba 28 Concert and found out the intonation of the 1st and 4th strings is out of tune. The saddle is compensated but the nut is too high . So I gave it to my local luthier and hope he fix the intonation. I’m disappointed in this brand.
Great tip with the playing cards! Thanks!

Technically, the strings touch at the nut and the saddle. The Bridge holds the saddle (and does a bunch more).
I just put together a ukulele kit and this is the last thing I have to do, so your video was really helpful, thanks.
I hope your kit comes out great. Thanks
