So I had to rematch this like 3 times thinking I missed you mentioning the song (I want it that way) I was singing the song from around the 4min mark on the video (the song just popped into my head haven't listened to it in YEARS!) Yes he invested a lot of money into me .. got a 5k water system for my house, spent 3k on paint and fence , went in nice trips, got engaged.. got a $28k engagement ring it then he started pulling away and not wanting to bring up marriage.. we had set date for end of July but he for so cold with me so I called off engagement.. he only texts but has not shown up to my house. 11:30 I have a friend who is/was overinvested in me. It was too much. I needed to time out to create new, firmer boundaries. Too many gifts, meals and other things being delivered. Constant messages assuring me they understood how I was feeling etc when in fact they really had no idea or they'd have given me the space I asked for for a few weeks. I had been dealing with significant family issues and the hospitalisation and subsequent death of a parent and needed some time out. But this friend was relentless. It felt like I was being pursued by an avid and unwanted suitor so I had to say stop! I need extended time alone. I won't be answering my phone, messages or my front door for a while. Sorry but this is what I need!
I know they are "watching" me and hoping for signs of life. They drive past my house, sometimes leave gifts or food etc by my front door. I might receive a message letting me know they've noticed my "Do Not Disturb" sign is on the door. I feel like I'm in a fish bowl. There have been a couple of occasions I've seen them drive by when I've been working in my garden and next thing they're at my gate just to say a quick "hello". Whose needs are being honored here?
