I make small rivets to hold the new tongue to the thumb pick ring. I use Delrin for the new tongue. Supe glue won't adhere to /Delrin, but epoxy will Rough up both surfaces to get a good glue bond. I can make the Delin in different thicknesses using a sandy wheel on my drill press. From .055 to .090.
Not bad. Finding the perfect thumbpick is necessary. Many players reshape ready made picks for this reason. I try to find ones that are longer and reshape the blade. Fred Kelly picks are my favorite.
Thank you☺ i had cut the hollow handle off a milk jug and cut some finger picks. Your thumb pick is WAAAAAAAY better then my ghetto fingerpicks😄 I deffinatly look forward to trying this☺☺☺

I never thought of this idea but I love your way of thinking
Thanks for posting a simple solution to a unique problem! Can't wait to customize mine.

A really nice idea. I will try that because I don't find a fitting Pick for me.

EXCELLENT VIDEO
Do you think scoring or sanding both surfaces prior to gluing would be worth the effort?
I don't but being flat is likely more important.
Good idea.
Great idea. But would it be better to fasten the flat puck to the inside rather than the under side? Less stress
No it would come apart more easily, I normally pick down seldom up.
Okay...
Step 1: GET a thumbpick.
This is what I wanted to do..
the reason thumbpicks are hard because usually bass players use it
Pick on the inside so your always squeezing it......
