FANTASTIC BEASTS & WHERE TO FIND THEM is a total MIND F*CK
#harrypotter #fantasticbeasts #harrypotterfan
Say what you want about this series but Eddie Redmayne gave it his all and is a delight
I'll say, I did genuinely like this particular movie. Not as much as the OG movies, but still
Eddie was absolutely brilliant in the theory is everything when he play Steven hawkin..
I randomly saw the movie awhile ago and his acting was phenomenal..
Great actor.
Absolutely
He was the best part of the first movie. Shame they had to take his series away from him though and make him a side character
@@ashhabimran239Yes this movie was a great deal of fun, we honestly didn’t need the whole Grindelwald plot honestly it was just a fun trip into the world.
I love how most people come into a movie like this knowing a fair amount of lore and trivia about the inner workings of the wizarding world and it's bloodlines and whatnot, and Alex comes in like a child walking into a clock repair shop, pointing at random things and saying, "what's that then?" repeatedly several times, looking astonished at it all but not knowing how any of it works or why it's there... a bit like Arthur Weasley in literally any scene showing him interacting in the Muggle world... So pure
Well, the movie itself is constructed in a way that it is fascinating to watch even without watching HP at all - yet providing those sweet memberberries to more dedicated HP fans :) And this movie is a rare example of memberberries done right - it's not mere key jigglign, but meaningful references that are organically embedded into narrative.
Fun Fact: Newt Scamander briefly appeared on the Marauder's Map in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, creating a fun Easter egg
Isn’t that something that every HP fan know by now? Although it’s pretty fkn awesome!
@sigurdstorm8822 A lot do know, but Alex wouldn't, and i'm sure a good few here wouldn't have known that considering how small of an easter egg it is in the film itself.
His book and name was mentioned in the first book
i agree but i always think could be always new to someone, u learn something new everyday @@sigurdstorm8822
. I didn't know, I have all the HP movies + the fantastic beast movies. And have seen them many times over.
I maintain, we were robbed of a Magic Nature Documentary starring Newt Scamander as a magical equivalent of David Attenborough
Fun fact: the reason Jacob laughs out loud each time he drinks at the speakeasy is because he's drinking Gigglewater!
Pretty sure they even say that out loud so it’s frustrating that all he has to do is pay attention 😅
The film literally calls it Gigglewater. I know reacters have to actually react to the film but it is annoying when they miss obvious things in films because they're saying something pointless and/or stupid.
@@tastyneck right! I remember that laugh after he drank killed in theaters because it’s a nice fun detail that had a nice payoff.
@@Thomas_Donofrio Not in the theaters for me but the same reaction! It was a nice, fun moment for the best character in the films!
I was looking for this comment! It drove me insane that he missed that detail lol
Grindelwald was there for a quick scene in the last Harry Potter movie... He was in Prison and Voldermort breaks in to speak with him about the Elder Wand. Grindelwald was Dumbledore's best friend growing up before they were forced to fight each other and a random spell hit Dumbledore's sister and killed her. He is to Dumbledore what Voldermort was to Harry.
that sounds weird if you think about Dumbledore and Grindelwald's romance💀
He is ✨not✨ to Dumbledore what Voldemort is to Harry, not in the slightest. He loved Dumbledore until his dying breath, and not only did he defy Voldemort’s request to know where the elder wand was, he laughed in Voldemort’s face and taunted him with his death. He did all of that to protect to Dumbledore’s grave and his honor. Yes, he had similar beliefs to Voldemort, but even then not so much. He wanted the wizards to rule over the Muggles, it wasn’t his intent or goal to “purify” the wizarding race. Voldemort was Harry’s true enemy and rival, whereas Grindelwald was Dumbledore’s lover and test. They can’t be compared that way in the slightest.
They also were not best friends growing up. They met after Dumbledore completed school, when Dumbledore’s parents died and he was forced to come home to care for his sister and Grindelwald went to his relatives house for summer holiday. They met, grew extremely close, became lovers, and had the intent and goal to create a class system across the world with wizards on top ruining over muggles. Dumbledore literally drafted the entire scheme, and the infamous (across the wizarding world) slogan of Grindelwald’s campaign “for the greater good”.
Well, the last sentence is incorrect, though - it was implied and later confirmed by J K Rowling that Grindelwald and Dumbledore were more than friends.
Also, Harry and Voldemort were not "best friends growing up", cmon :)
In film's context, hovewer, Grindelwald is mostly important because he was "previous Voldemort" - i.e. one of the most dangerous dark wizards of all time. Personally I even consider him more dangerous and powerful than Voldemort, but it's kinda non-conformist opinion :D
lovers u mean
I think what they tried to say It's that Grinderwald was like what Voldemort was to the wizard world. Almost like comparing one dictator to another with their respective rebellion , with Dumbledore being kind of the figure against this mad men. Same with Harry and Tom
When you think about it, Newt is basically a pokemon trainer in a world of witches and wizards.
And this is why Niantic (devs of Pokemon Go) made the Harry Potter mobile game
Well, he doesn't battle...More like a Pokemon Breeder lol.
Fact
@@ItApproaches ...that came out wrong...
Ive never thought of it that way but i will from now on you have made me chukle
Couple of things:
-Frank, the giant eagle-ish thing, is a thunderbird.
They're native to the dry Arizona/New Mexico area, where they show up in Native American folklore.
They create thunderstorms and bring rain to those parched areas.
Newt mentioned he'd found him being trafficked and was bringing him back to his natural environment.
-The actor who plays the 'mom' of the little anti-witchcraft home (Samantha Morton), is best known for playing Agatha, the most talented precog in the PreCrime Unit, in the film "Minority Report"
-The 'crime boss elf' Gnarlack, in the magical speakeasy, is played by Ron Perlman, aka "Hellboy".
You're correct that Newt Scamander is a conservationist, trying to prevent the all too rapid forced and thoughtless extinction of fantastic/fabulous creatures.
Newt was tossed out of Hogwarts, in spite of Albus Dumbledore trying to keep Newt there, for keeping these creatures.
The importance of these creatures were not recognized at that time, even by the Wizarding World.
The reason Newt is carrying around beasts in his satchel is because he has nowhere else to keep them, nowhere where they won't be confiscated by magical authorities and killed. Newt is, at that time, the world's authority on the requirements and care such creatures.
Newt's book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" becomes a standard textbook at many schools of magic, especially at Hogwarts.
Eddie Redmayne has said he played Newt as being on the Autism spectrum. Makes sense, that Newt would prefer animals to humans or magic folk. One aspect Redmayne utilized was the difficulty autistics have in looking people in the eye.
I agree, you need to see the first of the trilogy.
Even JK Rowling was upset at how they screwed up the story (and that whole Johnny Depp legal debacle made it even worse).
But here's the thing: if you are really into the details of the Wizarding World, you HAVE to watch the other two films.
They contain content that has bearing on the Harry Potter era.
Anyone who considers these movies canon is weird.
So many contradictory things with the original saga it just makes no sense
These movies are trash and there's no way they're canon with the amount of BS and lack of coherence there is
@@SonOfIzalithunfortunately for you, you dont just get to choose whats canon or not. These movies are, in fact, canon to the series
I DO NOT ever want to hear the phrase “sex Dobby” ever again.
Sex Dobby
THIS! It wasnt even a house-elf :D
Haven't watched the video yet but im scared for that part now
Lololol that he refers to any other house elf as crackhead dobby
Sex Dobby sex Dobby sex Dobby sex Dobby sexual Dobby
This too originally started as a book! The book is actually written in textbook format as Hogwarts students are actually assigned “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” as part of their curriculum. I remember reading it as a kid and it really added so much to the lore and I liked how JK would insert random creatures in HP that she wouldn’t explain and you could always go and cross reference them in Fantastic Beasts
It is connected to Harry Potter. When he finally gets his Hogwarts letter and list of supplies the first book he has to buy is “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” by Newt Scamander. I don’t know that it ever made it into the movie other than a nod to Newt on the Marauders Map.
it was the third book not first
Grindelwald is also mentioned in Harry Potter. Dumbledore came to possess the elder wand by defeating him in a duel.
@@TheNightcorelover420The letter with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is the first book, but the map is the 3rd..
@@TheNightcorelover420 The 1st book had the list and the third has him on the Marauders Map. My ebook on my apple ipad app has it on page 62.
@@CGingerbreadman I made a second comment about the duel and Arianna and her possible obscurus and all that. The movie does talk about Grindelwald a little and has those scenes with Jamie Campbell Bower but I can see why he didn’t remember the name. It’s unfortunate how much the movies had to leave out for run time.

Newt five minutes later: "LEAVE HIS BRAINS!"

Grindelwald was mentioned all the way back in the Philosophers Stone book. One of the facts on Dumbledore’s chocolate frog card was his defeat of Grindelwald in 1945.
He was in the Deadly Hallows Part 1, there was a flashback, then Voldemort Killing his older self.
@@TheBaldrthis is why reading the books is so vital! I can’t imagine being a Harry Potter fan that has only seen the movies
Well, if you manage to find film adaptations without any cut scenes, he's actually mentioned in the first film! There is one cut dialogue before the Nicolas Flamel discussion in the library, where the trio is sittimg in the grand hall, and Harry eating the chocolate frog, discovering another Dumbldor card with Grindewalt mentioned in the first lines.

The second film "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" is about Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) and his connection to young Dumbledore (Jude Law), Credence, and a branch of the LeStrange family. I vote 'yea' for your reaction!. 🙂 Oh, and Jacob laughed after taking a drink because he was drinking shots of 'Giggle Water'.
I love that Alex can’t tell the difference between house elves and goblins. 😂
What are goblins other than cracked out house elves?
@@AVikingNerd [I'm sure you said that as a joke but] Well, for starters, Elves comes from German folklore and seem to be of a submissive nature which may be why they're written as servants or as belonging to the lower service class in this series, while Goblins come from old French and apparently belong to a higher social tier, hence our introduction to them here (in the main series) is as bank workers -- be it as a clerk(?) or as a vault-keeper(?) and (here) notorious business-folks.
he also can't tell the difference between a roach and a dung beetle 😂
It's not like everyone can - guy in the elevator was Goblin, though this type of work would be more appropriate for House elves. Former are very proud and won't usually serve wizards directly, latter are bound by magic to listen to their owner at all times and are mostly used for manual jobs, incl. cleaning shoes or running elevators.

some more connections between this and Harry Potter for you:
1: if you go back to where Harry first got the Mauraders Map and you pay attention to the names of people walking around you will see that Newt was visiting Hogwartz that day and he was on the map.
2: Luna Lovegood Marries Newts son/grandson(don't remember which) Rolf Scamander.
3: Fantastic Beasts is one of the books Harry has to get one of the years (third year I think but I'm not sure) as a school book requirement
4:Nicholas Flammel is the same guy who created the Philosophers/Sorcerers Stone from the first Harry Potter.
I love the choice to have Newt be on the spectrum. It adds so much to his character and I think his performance is so good. Favorite character in the wizarding world by far
Newt's on the spectrum?
Edit: Wow I can’t believe I didn’t notice it immediately, it’s incredibly obvious in hindsight
@@officialmonarchmusic He's very austic coded. The way he stands, the way he speaks, it's a deliberate choice. I loved the moment you realize he hasn't really been making direct eye contact with people until he gets into the case and he's comfortable and he can look his beasts in the eyes and he's just so happy there. I love the amount of amusement he has when he scares Jacob with the swooping horror. I have so much love for Newt.
@@officialmonarchmusic I came to the comments to see if anyone else had mentioned this. Eddy Redmayne plays it perfectly...notice his lack of eye contact with everyone, his deliberation before speaking...I have two kids on the spectrum and he does it perfectly. People on the spectrum see and experience the world very differently than those who are not...though as I age and get to know more and more people I am becoming fairly certain that it's not a "disorder" as much as something half of humans have, which comes with benefits and disadvantages
@@casihamilton3773I hate that term “_____ coded” 🙄
@@DarthLesbian genuine question: is there a better term for this practice in film?
The thing i love about this movie is that it brings back the "magic" that we kind of lose late in the HP series. The early HP movies you're always WOWed by all the amazing magical things you're introduced to. this movie brings that back
Grindelwalt is known from Harry Potter. He was on the chocolate frog collectable card of Dumbledore. It said that Dumbldore is famos for defeating him in a duel. Also in Deathly Hollows movie you can see him in flashback, stealing the Elder Wand, and then when Voldemort visits him in prison and kills him after asking him where is the wand. That old man who said that wand is in the grave with Dumbldore is Grindelwald. In history books he was known as a strongest dark lord in history (before Voldemort but everyone knows that Voldemort sucks and doesn't count).
Rowling has been clear that Albus Dumbledore was gay.
The two greatest pains in Dumbledore's life was the death of his beloved sister and the breakup from the love of his life, Grindelwald.

The link between this and the HP franchise is that every student at Hogwarts reads the book "Fantastic Beats & Where To Find Them" written by Newt for the Care of Magical Creature class. Also, News was in Hufflepuff.
This movie is actually fantastic. Eddie Redmayne is perfect casting. All the creatures are awesome! Especially the Nifler.

I ready like these movies despite the problems they have. The characters are all great with Newt being my favorite. Seeing the Wizarding World in America was great because we only ever saw Britain. All the creatures are both cute and funny, especially the Niffler. Gellert Grindelwald is a great character.

The main problem imo with these movies (more so in the sequels) is that J.K. Rowling wrote them. She is not a screen writer and that's fine, these stories should have been novels first, let her get all her ideas into some big beefy books and then let a screen writer adapt the story. Honestly if you ask me I think she should just do that now. Write all these stories as novels and then she can finish the narrative because this was supposed to be like a 5 or 6 film series and the performance of the last movie is not gonna let that happen with how greedy Hollywood is. So write some more novels JK (keep your personal prejudices out of it) let the literally community dig into them like potter books and maybe after they reboot Harry Potter they can give this another shot.

I'm also a fan of period stuff and enjoyed watching bts segments about how they built the New York depicted here on a big lot in England and all the production design related to the 1920s era🤩 Of course, more than all that, I really enjoyed the performances and storytelling - from, that goes without saying with this franchise🤩
You actually get to see old Grindelwald in one of the last Harry Potter movies, when Harry is seeing through Voldemort's mind. Tom asks a man where it is (Dumbledore's wand). That man is Gellert Grindelwald before Tom Riddle kills him (in the books, not seen in the movie though).
The character of Newt is the grandfather of the man Luna marries.🙂
The first animal you see (platypus) is a niffler Hagrid taught Harry and group about them in HP they search for coins and shiny things.
Also, fantastic beasts, and where to find them is one of the textbooks for care of magical creatures class.

I love all these movies. Newt is a fantastic character. I really wish we could see him meet the 11th or 13th Doctors, they have a lot in common, personality wise. Smart, clever, whimsical and each have some pretty deep memories and knowledge.
I’d say watch them all. It’s true that the first is the best one imo, but the other two have good stuff as well. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, they are worth watching!
Yeah but the story never got finished.
I may be a little biased as i am a super fan of (CGI) animation. but i like all the movies, and srsly the creatures alone are just awsome. And if u are into the wizarding world, it's just a nice thing to learn more about it. The characters are actually rly likeable too
I rly dont understand why ppl hate on it.
it just feels like the "ugh it's not harry potter, so it's not the same, so it's bad" kind of hate
"The kid's haircut is shit but he's not a freak!" Obviously you haven't seen the police reports on the doings of Ezra Miller.
crimes of grindelwald is also amazing. This film was mostly context and exposition for crimes of grindelwald. I haven't seen secrets of dumbledore, but apparently the plot of that is also very good?
16:05 This is the most dangerous animal on HP universe. Only 2 people domesticated them, one of them is Newt (obviously). Its breath releases a plague that can kill an entire village, and to fight them it is need at least 100 wizards. Cheers from Brasil.
FINISH THE REST. The Movies are entertaining and most of the people complaining are complaining because they thought the series was gonna be about cute magical beast instead of the very real war that is happening during this time period in the wizarding world. It is fantastic beast because we are witnessing these events through the lenses of Newt Scamander who’s a Magizooologist! Also if one researches deeper there are many fans calling for the final 2 films we were promised. The big thing that sunk this series was related to the drama around J.K. and the Mistreatment of Johnny Depth after his ex wife brought false charges against him and while the Studio initially said they would not remove him they ultimately ended up betraying him and WB paid for replacing him in the third movie by not making as much as expected despite being told ahead of time they’re would be push back if the replaced JD! However, that push back has now cost fans the final two movies for good or at least for a while till everything simmers down.
Please keep going! The second one's my favourite, and even the third has a lot of good stuff in it. I think you'd enjoy it
I’m one of people who really loves this movie! I think largely because I don’t try to compare it to Harry Potter. On its own, it’s an incredibly entertaining, really funny movie that I really enjoy. It doesn’t have to be like Harry Potter. I enjoyed the second one pretty well too, but the third one wasn’t that great. But I love that you appreciated this one too!
Also, calling the bowtruckle “green bean” and calling the speakeasy guy “gang boss dobby” and every other house elf “crack dobby” had me ROLLING 😂😂😂
❤!! Definitely worth watching the other ones because it makes some of the things they set up in here make SO MUCH SENSE 😭😭 you’ll love who they bring in the next movie !!
So the whole reason for this Prequel is to highlight the details between Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s past. Grindelwald was the Voldemort of this era, and Dumbledore became really famous for defeating him.
Dougal is actually the name of the demiguise (the creature that can turn invisible). We get the name of the niffler in one of the other movies 😉
I love these movies, even though there is som big plotholes in regards to the HP universe 😏
I loooooove this series SO MUCH, it's really a shame we didn't get the last 2 (I'm still hopeful though, we HAVE to have the final battle). Second and third are my favourites.
I love that the heroic action of this movie is empathy! :D
...AAAHHH, I need to see this movie again!
Personally. I found the second one even better, only because of John Depp. I found everyone else’s storylines in the movie a tad disappointing, but Grindlewald and Leta Lestrange really made the 2nd movie pop. I liked the darker theme and I thought the cgi was pretty awesome. Overall execution, though, was probably only a 6 outta 10 from me.
41:30 i actually like these! I will say that the second one isn't as good as the other two, but it's DELIGHTFULLY mind screwy, which makes up for some of it
30:10 it's called giggle water. It's a shot that literally makes you giggle.
The series is no Harry Potter, but I love it for its own. I think you should continue to watch. Surprisingly enough Johnny Depp only having 7 seconds in this movie was convenient, given his situation when the second movie was being made.
What you've heard is WRONG. 2nd movie is even better, AND kicks off the real storyline of the trilogy because its not just about the beasts. 3rd movie is different but still good (because Depp had to pull out whilst being sued by Aquaman chic), but it still fulfills the plot payoff. It's fun, and def worth watching.
All right, this is my first comment on this channel and I want to start by saying please watch the other movies. I love your channel and I want to see it!!! Also this is connected to Harry Potter. It's the first first item he picks up while getting supplies with Hagrid in the movie. Also, you can see Newt's name on the Marauders map in Hogwarts going to a meeting with Dumbledore.
Yes, please do the next two films. This series grows on you, the more you re-watch it. Hopefully there will a fourth. We need the showdown between Grindelwald and Dumbledore.
You should definitely watch the others, Johnny Depp got screwed by the amber herd trial so got replaced, but they are still fairly good movies
I feel like that was a big part of the reason why many people did not watch the third movie, causing it to end up being the last one... Not only because many Depp fans and supporters boykotted it, but also the general public who boykotted it bc WB kept Heard in their movies... It was a MASSIVE movement online, and succeeded. They should've taken him back for real and apologised, I am 100% sure that the series would still go on had they done so. Nothing against Mads Mikkelsen, he is a great actor and actually chill with Johnny, (thank god since that meant that he respected Johnny's performance), but fans really were BIG time disappointed in WB.
@@insanitired I tried to watch the move. I went into it not knowing that Mads had replaced Johnnie Depp. I was furious about it when i turned the movie on, and then it proceeded to put me to sleep. I like Mads in select roles. This was not one of them. I don't think he was the right fit for the charachter. I've not gone back to it since, and don't plant to purely because Depp got screwed.
Honestly all three movies are good, obvioulsy not comparable to Harry Potter. Also the third one might even be my fav, dont really understand the hate this triology got.
One thing that annoys me is, as you also mentioned at the end, before doing a prequel on Grindelwald why not show us the Mauraders, Tom Riddle backstory, The Black sisters and family, founders of Hogwarts, etc.

I hope you will react to the 2nd and 3rd Fantastic Beasts movies. You will see that they are connected to Harry Potter. Those movies got a bad rap because Jo Rowling did the screenplay herself and they realized the Harry Potter movies worked out better being based on books. There were no Fantastic Beasts books before the screenplay. And, Johnny Depp was removed from the 3rd movie as Warner Bros believed Amber Heard before their case went to trial. Jo Rowling also had made disparaging remarks about LGBTQ people. Those 3 reasons are why the last 2 movies were cancelled. Number 5 was to be the final battle between Dumbledore and Grindiwald.
These were great movies, and yes, the first one is probably the best out of all of them. I will say however, the other two (in my opinion aren't bad), I think they just leave people with unanswered questions. And when it comes to the next movie, that was fine because it made me want to see the next one after more. And while I did still want to see the conclusion of these movies after the third one came out, it wasn't quite to the same degree (and it was a little confusing at times, with other aspects of the film seeming unnecessary). But overall, I still have enjoyed watching these films, and I would have liked to see this series continue.
1:40 "wtf is Grindelwald" as if Hermione didn't mention him in Deathly Hallows pt.1 already 😂
Which movie casts Johnny Depp for a few second? the one that later kicks him out for crimes he didn't commit.
I keep rewatching this episode because I knew from beginning you'd have funny, stupid, inappropriate comments about the characters in the movie. I honestly agree the rest of this series feel like lost some kind of structure but they're still full of interesting characters and plot. I really hope you react to all of them and come up with inappropriate comments about their appearances and demeanors, etc. 😂
I actually really like these movies, the second and the third one are good too. People give them stick but they are very enjoyable. Not as good as Harry Potter but still, was very exciting to return to the Harry Potter universe when this came out.
I feel almost obliged by the fine acting and inclusion of Newt Scamander. He has Asperger's, it is a disorder that is on the autistic spectrum. That's why he has a hard time relating to people and averts his gaze. On the other hand, he doesn't with his animals that he cares for. Incredible performance
I like the other 2 movies. Depp is amazing in the second film and I like Dumbledore in the third.
I do hope u do watch the other 2 movies becuz I luv Fantastic Beasts. I didn’t grew up watching the H.P. movies so watching these films makes me feel like I was apart of the journey other Potterheads went through with H.P. 😍💚🐍🏰
Looking forward to you rewatching Potter!
Man, you have such a great personality. I don't know exactly if it is just for the entertaining purposes of the videos you make or you are this way IRL, but I LOVE IT! You are such a cool person.
Also great great GREAT videos, TYVM for them.
You must watch the second 1 it includes more origin stories
The little guy that steals Shiney things is a Niffler, his name is Teddy.
8:36 😂🤣 literally laughed OUT loud
I vote for continuing the series, simply because of Newt and Jacob. I love that friendsship.
You need to watch next movies, they are as good as this one!!!😊😊❤❤
I actually think the second movie is equally "Fantastic", mainly because Grindelwald & Dumbledore come onto the scene. Sadly, the staff lost their collective mind between the final two films, and you can definitely tell. Depp was too distracted by legal troubles and Rowling kept messing with the story, changing the timeline and material repeatedly.
emm.. Grindelwald is the one guy who's more powerful than Voldy, equal to Dumbledore (and also his lover), and was mentioned in HP
I don't know what others say, but I love all three movies. I think they are great. You should definitely watch them!
personally the third movie in this series was GOLD literally so good
Definetely watch the rest. Its better than the loud part of the fanbase makes them it out to be.
Some hardcore narcs just hate it, because its not 100% by the book, but imo those movies are a lovely and good addition to the franchise
Watch them all! I love all of these films! All! "*FANTASTIC GOOCHIES & WHERE TO FIND THEM*
apparently Luna married Newt's grandchild or something! Newt's book is also in the curriculum for the first years when Harry is in 1.grade and appears as a easter egg in the Marauders map for a second. The second movie unveils way more of Newt's ties to the WW that we know from Harry Potter
Never do a reaction to part 3 please.
They kicked Johny Depp because of that false accusations by Amber Heard. Even he won.
I love this trilogy it’s so underrated please continue with it
Hey Alex! when the Harry potter rewatch? can't wait
The following movies in the series are actually pretty good, IMO. They recast Johnny Depp because of the BS he was going through at the time, which cheapened the films somewhat, but Mads Mikkelsen did very well in the part. If you like Mads, you should check out Polar. I suspect it's EXACTLY your kind of movie. Also, add The 13th Warrior to your list. Vikings...Antonio Banderas as an Arab...lots of gory combat...what's not to like?
3:19 Why do I just now realize that this is the same actress who played Alpha in The Walking Dead?
P.S. I love this movie, the next one is pretty good too! Also I can't wait for the Harry Potter re-watch marathon, I think it would be more interesting if Alex read the books first, so he can compare them, but I'll be happy anyways :)

Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them
(red book with a sticker that says "Property of Harry Potter")
Niffler -
M.O.M Classification: XXX
(Competent wizard should cope)
The Niffler is a British beast.
Fluffy, black, and long-snouted, this burrowing creature has a predilection for anything glittery.
Nifflers are often kept by goblins to burrow deep into the earth for treasure.
Though the Niffler is gentle and even affectionate, it can be destructive to belongings and should never be kept in a house.
Nifflers live in lairs up to twenty feet below the surface and produce six to eight young in a litter.
I personally enjoyed all three of the movies to be honest.
It is somewhat connected to harry potter, but very loosely. It's the same wizarding world but set back in like, the 1920's-30's. This series takes place during the peak of Grindelwald's following and power. Grindelwald was mentioned in the deathly hallows movies if you remember. While in Harry Potter, the range of Voldemort's power was mostly in the UK, Grindelwald's sphere of influence spanned continents including Europe and North America.
i loved it and i hope you finish the others as well cause even tho they're not the best the creatures and the backstory of dumbledore are really interesting
