It's confirmed you can play whatever configuration you want in multiplayer, so 1 v 5, 2 v 4, etc.

Thanks for the preview info! By all accounts it sounds like the Tenkaichi series is back in full effect with some interesting new features. I am curious about how many of the what if scenarios there are or if there will be additional stuff in the form of DLC.

I would imagine theyre going to add the splitscreen gameplay to other maps as well. It was never supposed to be in the game in the first place, but they started to add it after hearing fan feedback. So that's a good thing to me. They want to listen to fans, but its going to take time to make it work. Hopefully those patches juat dont take super long to come out is the only thing.

Maybe I'm entitled but that news about local multiplayer being limited to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber is just not good enough. Local Multiplayer is the lifeblood of this franchise.

If remember right, it might not be something Bandai can change. Its a console policy thing preventing local multiplayer, and I'm assuming its Xbox demanding feature parity across the two series systems
