Chrissie is so humble and much more approachable as a person than many remember her! She is very courageous in her battle with cancer. She rarely talks about her great achievements and records as a tennis player and doesn't seem to consider that SHE is possibly the GOAT also! Kudos to her and she looks great!

There is only one measure that can apply to all players to determine who was/is the greatest, only one fair judgment: winning percentage. Chris Evert is the greatest player we have ever seen. Her backhand is the catalyst for so much interest in the game. Forehand also wonderful. A pleasure to watch. And... won more often than any other player. Plus, what a great conversationalist. I love that Steve Flink wrote many of the stories that deepened my admiration and genuine love for this great tennis Family, the Everts.

The interviewer seems to argue that Chris and Martina weren't as close as Nadal and Federer. But is that really true? Both women have shared stories sharing a bagel before their Wimbledon finals.

Grand Slams are not the be all end all- Chris would definitely have more slams if she played them all- she skipped the French in her prime to play World Team Tennis- that was more important to the game at the time than the French- skipped it 3 years when she was #1- she could easily have 10 French titles- the 3 women who won in her absence never took a set off her on clay. Plus- she only played the Australian 6 times in 18 year career. Chris has 18 Majors- but add in 3 French and 2/3 Australian- she'd be up at the 22-24 level... Martina also skipped the French and Australian - back when it was on grass.... Chris has the 2nd most total titles at 156 to Martina's 167 (Serena has I think 72/73 total titles)- I'd rank Chris in the top 3 of all time. As for Steffi- who has 22, you have to remember that for 2.5 years- Seles was out of the game- missed 10 majors and Steffi won 6 of those- was Steffi capable of overtaking Monica and getting back to #1- YES, but you do have to put an asterisk behind her stats, or you're giving that psycho who stabbed Monica exactly what he wanted.

Chris has been generous in doing so many podcast episodes during the COVID lockdown and beyond. Again, the tennis journalists ask the same questions about her rivalry and relationship with Martina and never ask about her early years on the tour or her earlier rivalries with Court, King, Goolagong, Richey, Wade, and Austin. They obviously weren't worth discussing because they could all barely play the sport.

I dare say that's the best hair Chris Evert's ever had! I love it! Evert is definitely one of the all-time greats, and one can easily argue she's the top of the heap. It's good to hear Evert admit she was horrible at commentating early on when she went to NBC. It was very bad.
Graf's career is top-tier; however, we all know why there's an asterisk on it. We'll never know, though. That asshole in Germany stole so much from all of us - to say nothing of what he did to Monica Seles! May he forever burn in Hell.

To me, Steffi is the female GOAT. Navratilova, Evert and Williams come next. Those 4 ladies are all exceptional. As a man, I found Chrissy more appealing for her feminine grace and drop dead gorgeous looks, but they are all awesome.

I hate that ESPN doesn't let women call men's matches. Chris knows EXACTLY what's going through Roger, Rafa or Novak's mind at 3 all in the final set WAY more than Brad Gilbert or Patrick McEnroe ever would! That's more important than having played men back in the day.

    1 question to chrissie..
There was a discussion last year on who will go down as THE GOAT.. i think on ESPN with john..pat.. Chrissie.. Darren cahill.. Jamie blake. Etc. While everybody were sharing their opinions, and when john and pat shared djokovic will clearly go down as the GOAT... for some reason... Chrissie was denying or atleast nodding her head violently... And there ends the debate. What did chrissie say went clipped off from the r eleased video. If possible appreciate if chrissie can share why was she so reluctant rather strongly disagree with the idea of novak ending as THE GOAT if he has all the records. ! 🤔🙏

My all time top 5 greatest female player would be as follows...
    1. Chris Evert
    2. Martina Navratilova
    3. Steffi Graf
    4. Serena Williams
    5. Margaret Court.
If you look at the stats, Chris has the winningest win/loss record in career matches, at 90%. Her streak of 34 consecutive Grand Slams Semis is unmatched. It would have been 48 straight had it not been for the 3rd rd loss at Wimbledon 1983 (where a stomach bug badly affected her game).
She has won a singles Slam for an unbelievable 13 consecutive years from 1974-1986, another record.
Her 34 Grand Slam finals appearance is also unmatched, with Serena at 33, Martina at 32, Steffi at 31 and Court at 29.
If there had been and era for the greatest player, this would be my pick.
    1. 1962-1965, 1969-1970 & 1973 - Margaret Court
    2. 1966-1968 & 1972 - Billie Jean King
    3. 1071 - Yvonne Goolagong
    4. 1974-1982 - Chris Evert
    5. 1983-1987 - Martina Navratilova
    6. 1988-1990 & 1993-1996 - Steffi Graf
    7. 1991-1992 - Monica Seles
    8.1997-1999 - Martina Hingis
    9. 2000-2001 - Venus Williams
    10. 2004-2007 - Justine Henin
    11. 2002-2003 & 2008-2016 - Serena Williams
It has to be noted that Chris Evert has been ranked year end in the top 3 from 1972-1988. That is an astounding 17 years. that itself shows her longetivity to be at the top for such a long period. So yeah, she's my pick for the GOAT.

15 women can win any slam today??? It's more lie 128 can win- you can throw a dart at the draw and have a better chance to pick the winner... it's hurting the game. You watch, like someone, root for them, then you don't see them get out of the first week of a major the next 1-2 years.... I think it's the racket- go back to rackets they used around 2000. Too many injuries today.

The GOAT discussion is pretty much opinion and pointless in a individual sport with COUNTLESS variables, statistics, what if's and change in equipment. And yes, it was all hype and stupid for the u.s. open to go on and on and on claiming Serena was the GOAT just for the TV ratings and for the excitement of the fans in the stadium. NO ONE individual should ever EVER be declared the GOAT. What Evert stated about every era getting better is true, however, a champion could be a champion in any era with all of the modern aspects...

It's tough to compared one generation to another but i put Steffi on top then Martina then Serena. I put Margaret Court on fourth & Chrissy at no 5.
