6:47 That's what a dead man walking literally looks like. I can not unsee his face. It really is so upsetting to see a person suffer so much from this "forgotten pandemic." Rest easy, sir😢
In the beginning, small groups doing their part to to help individuals when everyone else abandoned them. After a few short years by working together the small groups became very instrumental for individual / family care, hospice, and research. Brilliant! Imagine what can be achieved by working together towards a common goal.
2:28 This comment really rubs me the wrong way. To be faced with a deadly disease that is almost certain to take you out, the worst part about it is telling people you're Haitian?? Staring death in the face and still managing to find space in your head or heart to be racist is crazy to me and sad.
It is truly embarrassing to see that, despite the various changes in the Government, in 40 years, we are still at this point. Money for armaments is always found in budgets, money that contributes to creating destruction and death thousands of kilometers away, in the name of supplies of raw materials... But for a plague that continues, albeit slightly less damaging, no one is willing to divert part of the billions of dollars that are allocated... to send shuttles into orbit, or by polluting in a deadly way, to ensure that a group of bored rich people experience the thrill of space travel. It is astonishing what the various religious or non-religious groups have done, with little money, to give shelter, in the past, to all the sick, who were treated like waste. But Governments should intervene, creating a ring of global solidarity, not just looking at the narrow local reality...

I was a young child when HIV was a serious epidemic and death sentence in the early 80s
Great program but not enough commercials
