Hello, I hope you are well. I have made a video about caring for clownfish. Enjoy! FOR EXCLUSIVE VIDEOS CHECK OUT MY PATREON PAGE: www.patreon.com/EverydayAquarist
Probably not. Clownfish are mostly as popular as they are because of Finding Nemo. If they were freshwater fish then the film wouldn’t work with Clownfish as it is set in the ocean. They would likely still be up there as one of the highest selling fish for they are easy to care for and are very pretty, but calling them the absolute highest selling fish is a big optimistic.
I would love to keep a clownfish or 2 trying to learn everything I know until I feel ready it would be my first saltwater aquarium I’ve only ever had fresh 🥰
I live in tampa Florida and I’ve used saltwater from the sea near Clearwater and I didn’t have to cycle bc I used the sand and live rock there in the area I just needed to wait about a week for water to clear out so it wasn’t hazy and did test to make sure ammonia wasn’t high along with everything else but the thing is if you use the natural sea water you can ONLY use the natural sea water when doing water changes bc if you use a fish store water it’ll mess up your salinity in the tank and stress your tank out, also since I’m here in Florida and I’m on the golf the water I had wasn’t really able to hold much coral other than the “ugly” corals and tangs didn’t survive I had to switch em over to another tang bc it was too much for them
Question: Since the biggest clownfish is the one protecting everyone, does this mean the little ones are safe from being eaten by the bigger ones? Or do they eat their kind? Thanks for answering.
Hey I am wanting to set up a tank with 2 clown fish and 2 or 3 corals. I have a HOB filter and a small canister filter wich one do I use and what other stuff will I need it’s a 37 gallon
hello. i went to a vet office and they had a massive saltwater tank with a giant clownfish that was maroon with white spots. do all clownfish get big? or is it like a different breed?
Different species. Ocellaris clowns are smaller then maroon clowns, but still can get to be 4 inches long in large enough spaces. The spots you mentioned sound like it could be a lighting maroon, a very beautiful kind of maroon clownfish.
Any advice on clowns hosting? I want to get hammers, frog spawns and other corals but I heard that clowns run up on them too much and kill the corals. And I don’t want just one anemone so I’m kinda in a pickle
I have a 16 inch long 8inch large 11inch up tank (not sure how much gallon it is) is that good for 1 (or more ) clowns? If no what kind of other fish i could get?
I love this fish but always had Fresh water aquarium fish. I'm too scared to start à sea aquarium cause of all the bad stories. From being difficult to very expensive.
Hello, have you clownfish ever given birth and if yes how do you manage the eggs for them to have a high surivial rate i heard some fish eat there eggs
I really want to get a clown fish tank with 2 clown fish and 1 or 2 other easy and low litre requiring tank mates I can provide upto 200l total is this possible or will I need to settle for just 2 clown fish
i’m asking many people who have experience and i’m doing my own research as well before i eventually get clownfish but i have a question! would it be ok to have two males (if it’s possible/will one turn female during adulthood?) and if not, will a male and female pair breed because i’m not looking for that at all. thank you :)
darn i really want these but after some research i realized the saltwater section of this hobby is wayy too expensive for my budget right now so i think i'll just wait until i get a job or something
Could I pair a new clownfish with an established clownfish? I have a single clownfish in my tank and I want to buy her a partner but Im not sure if I could even pair her with another clownfish. Do I just get one clownfish or several so she can pick her mate from the bunch? I dont mind the many clownfish but I just want her to have a partner.
If its just clownfish then any tank will do so long as its filtered and has properly prepared salt water (not table salt). If you want corals things get more complex
Can I buy clown fish for fresh water? Means Does clown fish live in fresh water or not? And Can we convert clown fish into fresh water from salt water??
@@EverydayAquarist Ah, ok. Glad to know. I worried that there may be lack of oxygen in the tank even though there's enough aeration and water ripple on the surface. And they are active and likes to be fed a lot.
No, you want to either buy water from your local fish store or you can mix your own. I personally buy mine from my fish store but mixing you own is also good
Oh....Saving Nemo! Unfortunately, the clownfish is now facing an even bigger challenge, climate change. Rising temperature around the world are bleaching in other words, killing off coral and sea anemone…. The habitats clownfish call home….
@@smokingjoint4661 dude there are HUNDREDS of videos of saltwater tanks with both clownfish and blue tangs... dont say bullshit, maybe quit toking too much?
I’m watching this because I wanted to figure out where I went wrong. I had three clownfish and the biggest died yesterday, and the other two died just right now. We spent so much money on keeping them healthy and safe. I did find out what was wrong, but I don’t know what to do about it. My dad didn’t rinse the soup off his hands before putting his hand into the tank. I’m so sorry to the poor fish, I’m so so sorry. RIP Rocky, Claude, and Beau ❤️💔🐟🐟🐟
I would add carbon to your filter, use something like seachem prime and do a 100% waterchange (if there are no other fish in the tank) then wait a few weeks before adding anything else

If this was a fresh water fish , it would be the highest selling aquarium fish in the world
Yea even more than the goldfish or betta.

I had bad luck with clowns up until recently. I'm trying to see if I can get a blood orange to breed with a fire clown and get a 3 species hybrid!
Ooh exciting
Good luck!
Hi can i use seawater from the ocean and put in my tank or do i have to let it go through a process of some kind
Many people do use seawater they collect. Just watch out for any pollution in the area

Dang not only did they make the fish from finding Nemo, we can keep them as pets!
You do know they were able to be kept as pets wayyyyy before the movie right?
They didn’t make fish from the movie, they already existed.

Generally maroon clown fish kinda become big compared to the common clowns….and the most aggresive too…

Hi! I was wondering if I could keep just one clownfish alone another type of fish is that possible?
Yes
Make sure you have a sea anemone for the clownfish
they don’t actually need an anemone
hey what kind of aquarium should i get ?

will they live even without oxygen?
where can i find clown fish?
