  • Or not... Seen a lot of complaints that facing these bosses without any form of direct combat augments makes them tedious and hard. So here we go, first boss, no recoil/aim/dermal, taking no damage and dead in under a minute on "Give me Deus Ex" hard mode in one take. Difficult my ass.
Second Boss: • Deus Ex: Human Revolut...
Third Boss: • Deus Ex: Human Revolut...
Forth Boss: • Deus Ex: Human Revolut...

I don't understand why people were complaining about the bosses. Yeah I died a couple of times when I first fought them but that's expected in a boss fight. It's suppose to force you to use your resources and environment in a more efficient manner and formulate a method of playing you weren't using before the fight.

@TheBlueMarth Once again, this was first take... With no prior reading up on the fight other than a few complaints on some forums that it was "too hard". I worked out the tactics within the time it took the cut scene to run through. The game had been spamming "EMP grenades can disable augmented enemies." since the beginning during loading screens.
If you don't know what you are doing by this point, I can't say I have much sympathy for you.

"At no point did the game tell you it was okay to notkeep a combat weapon."
Except, y'know, that giant "DEUS EX" name emblazoned across the box cover, as non-lethal stealth is one of the key characteristics of the original. And we might as well throw in the load-out scene at the start of the game where they give you two or three opportunities to emphasize a stealth role, which certainly led me to believe this really was Deus Ex and not Just Another FPS.

@elmer1410 I deliberately took no combat upgrades to show that they absolutely weren't needed. No finesse is even required, just being prepared for any situation.

It is. I had him on my first try with pretty much similar tactic - except I used frag grenades since I DIDN'T know what I was doing. I didn't have any combat augs, or typhoon or anything. They stun him the exact same way. If people don't have / want to use grenades located in the same room - then just shoot the explosive barrels around the room for the same stun effect. Honestly, I don't get why people complain about 'bosses being hard' in Deus Ex...

@CrazyEddi3 It's the shotgun you can buy or that enemies drop with the burst mod sold at the gun runners in the abandoned gas station in between limb and sarif in detriot for 1500 as soon as you first get there.

@InfernalEngines Deus Ex has a mandatory kill which can only be avoided by an exploit of the games bugs. And while Deus Ex does occasionally give you different dialogue options depending on your choices. It also never tells you to not carry a gun with you, you would have had to have made the conscious meta-game decision to throw away all your guns and never pick up one of the many later available. And then the plot makes the sentiment absolutely pointless due to the NUCLEAR FUCKING MISSILE.

@Dippers85 You're right about that, just wish there were more options, things to climb, vents etc.. I'm getting more used to the game now, but I still think it could have been so much better. But the good outways the bad.

@Omgitsayuro Nothing drives home the point that sometimes in life you simply don't have a choice like being locked in a room with a guy augmented to hell. It was your choice not to carry any weapons on yourself. But this is a stealth combat game, which rewards exploration and preparation. At no point did the game tell you it was okay to notkeep a combat weapon. You simply assumed you could... You can't really blame the game for your own false assumptions.

the best thing about this bossfight is that it can be done by simply throwing whatever the fuck is in this room at the boss

@jerman2003 Yeah but if you think about it, the first Deus Ex had boss battles of a sort too. Anna Navara, Gunther Hermann, Walton Simons etc :)
Its not TOO different from the first in that regard.

Glad you made this, I was surprised at how easily discouraged kids are these days with games. The bosses were incredibly easy especially the last 2.

@elmer1410 These bosses aren't like other games where you have to follow a specific pattern in order to beat them. There are endless methods of dealing with them. The point is to just improvise with what you have (or given, there are plenty of items scattered around to help you if you need them). I killed Namir with nothing more than a modified 10mm pistol, and lots of headshots, in a little over 2 minutes.

It's unfortunate the way the bosses were handled in this game. If you make different choices (story and upgrade choices) the bosses can become impossibly frustrating. That's a major design flaw.

Wait, just beat him, it gave me such an adrenaline rush knowing I could die any second :)

@Omgitsayuro Exactly how I feel about it. Plus I didn't carry any lethal weapons because they take up so much space in your limited inventory. So you're playing the game all stealth with a dart gun and a taser. Then you get thrown in this battle without proper weapons. There are little details with this game that drive me up the f'n wall. Plus the graphics and some of the NPC's look like they're from 2006. There's nothing to exploit in the boss battles, pointless.

@GrimoireOfAlice Well, you could play the original game without ever killing someone. Thought it seems a bit unfortunate that they removed that option.

I thought the game was alright until I got to these boss battles. Throws my stealth style of play out the window. I stopped playing it altogether.

Bosses still suck. The original Deus Ex only had about 2 or 3 mandatory kills, none of which were boss fights.
As a person who didn't bring any lethal weapons(because you shouldn't have to, this is Deus Ex), I was dissapoint and angurry.

This walkthrough is useless for me since it's on pc. The boss reacts much quicker on xbox360. He starts walking right away and doesn't give you time to lob a grenade in the right place.
