WOOD turning Lathe Machine Work Tale leg with Craft DIY wooden Woodworking

A customer of mine, who is australian, ask me to make a bowl that represent the place where he live ( ocean, waves, sand). So i decided to do something different than what you usually see ( waves on the beach epoxy platter) . The wood i used is Shedua, the shedua is an exotic wood that came from africa. The bowl diameter is 11 inches and about 2 inches tall. I hope you will like this video and subscribe if you are not. I make 3 using basic gear that would come with a lathe and the last one I show how they would be turned in a chuck. I decide to make a small vase which came out okay, nothing spectacular just a simple vase. The end result wasn't to bad the finish is nice and smooth and holds a great deal of character I was happy with the end result.#Woodworking #WoodworkingProjects #DIYWoodworking To make a segmented, woodturned Christmas ornament, I started by sketching what I wanted to do which was a Christmas tree figure on a sphere. I structured the sphere by layering up pieces of holly and purple heart to form the pattern, with a layer on the bottom for the trunk and a layer on the top for the sky. The original idea was to also make it hollow, drill holes in it for lights, and put a LED light with a watch battery inside. The turning proved to be at the limits of my skill level and tool collection. I dropped the light idea and just tuned it as a solid piece. I made a decorative finial at the top and bottom.
