The standard sizes for dog leashes are 4 feet and 6 feet. For horse leads, 10 feet is the standard and 25 feet is best for lunge lines. The same technique is applied for all of these leashes and leads. Simply measure out shorter or longer lengths of cordage for your needs. You'll want to measure an additional 14-inches for the handle and at least six more inches for the hardware.
