    Thanks for watching! Now that you know whether you're lazy or tired, what are you going to do next to overcome your procrastination?

    • @shiny6123
      @shiny6123 3 года назад +1

      I’m going to allow small timeframes of 15-20 minutes to do a job like organize boxes of papers/photos that I have in my closet.

    It's so easy to think that I'm lazy or am just trying to get out of being responsible. But the truth is I'm tired, overwhelmed with chronic fatigue and depression. It is incredibly validating to be reminded that it isn't 100% in my control and that I can choose small steps. Over time those small steps will equal something much bigger. It makes change much more sustainable and achievable. Great video!!

    I feel a lot of resistance. It’s a struggle to just do normal stuff. Always feel physically tired and irritable. I procrastinate like crazy, then have short productive streaks here and there. I feel guilty for not doing more around the house, more as a dad and husband, and more for my physical health/appearance. It’s like a feeling of overwhelm with not actually doing too much due to the resistance, if that makes sense. I do have past trauma (most of which was my own fault). I wish I had the solution.

    Having to be proud of yourself for doing simple mundane tasks like making your bed and brushing your teeth really hit home for me. That used to be me. And, ultimately, being kind to myself is probably what helped me begin to ease out of my depressive funk.

    Thanks this video helped a lot. It actually made me reflect to not be so hard on myself despite my past of being called lazy and always striving for perfection. I just gotta slow down and do things step by step and if i dont do it all in one day then its okay. Im putting the effort in at most.

    Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, fibro, disc herniated lower back, right should hurt, insomnia comes and goes, with that comes depression go days not talking to anyone living alone or well not really alone having two big lab/shepherd dogs. Some days getting them food and water is a major deal. Yep got the trash down to the road last night yeah me. Today showered hate to admit that yes taking a shower can be a struggle. When feeling weak, fatigued, lack of sleep sucks. Today have had 4 hours. Trying not to take a nap so will be able to sleep tonight. Oh yeah, boundaries with my son are just another long story.
    He is 47 so not going to feel guilty about saying no.

      Very encouraging video. I just watched it again. What did you say about the four to six hours around the end of the video? You said it so fast I couldn't get it. And I really like your honesty and you're being vulnerable.👍

      @@mhba9047 I'm so glad you find this video encouraging. 😊 Sorry you couldn't understand me at the end. My videos have captions that you can turn on in the video settings if you ever need them in the future. Here's what I said at the point in the video, "I don't understand it at all. I have four to six usable hours a day because of my chronic illness and trauma so yeah, that's a snowball's chance in hell situation for me but anyways, you get what I'm saying."
      I also have all my video transcripts available on my blog. Here's the one for this video: www.accountabilitymuse.com/blog/am-i-lazy-or-tired-procrastination-isnt-the-problem

      @@CassieWinter Oh thank you Cassie that's so kind of you.
      It also helps to know about those four to six hours because this is how much I can give everyday. My health takes a lot of my time daily.
      I noticed a note from you on my phone at night and I thought I will reply when I wake up and then I didn't see it again. I did not do my homework yet. I will text more later. Thank you so much Cassie.

    I keep seeing "there is no such thing as lazy", saying no one is lazy is a sweeping generalization which is usually not a great thing. the majority of the laziness I see in the world, in my immediate acquaintance circles develops from privilege and support. some benefit from owning the victimization. not every can of wants to. some of us are physically, mentally, emotionally, etc exhausted. drained from daily, weekly, yearly responsibilities. some people avoid responsibility. some people are mentally, physically, emotionally, etc lazy. they know someone else will do the work if they don't/don't want to. they instead prioritize only what they want to work on. we are not all the same. they are way the rest of us are so exhausted. we're picking up their slack and we're tired. ijs.

    • @CassieWinter
      @CassieWinter  Год назад +2

      I would call that weaponized incompetence instead of lazy.
      The problem with using the word lazy is that it pretty much always hides what is actually going on. Calling someone who is chronically ill and disabled "lazy" is ableist and harmful. Calling someone who is taking advantage of others through weaponized incompetence "lazy" is also harmful because it is less severe than what is actually going on and can 'let them off the hook' as it were.
      My point is to stop using the word lazy and instead describe what is actually going on.
