Making Cheats Turn On AUTOMATICALLY & SHORTENING Cheats in The Sims 2 (userStartup.cheat file)

In this video I show you how to make your desired cheat codes apply automatically when you start the game and how to set shortcuts for them so they'll be easier to use. We're creating a userStartup.cheat file and I'm also showing you what's in mine!

#1 I double-checked my file but some of the cheats simply don’t work!
- A lot of cheats are pack-specific and are not available if you don’t have a certain extension pack installed, you may want to consider that. To find out which cheats you can use, check out the full list linked above.
#2 Can I do this on Mac?
- Yes, just swap the Windows specific things with their iOS counterparts. But keep in mind some cheats will not work for you because of the unavailability of certain expansion packs for Mac. See previous question and link above.

​@@seryhartuasry using the userStartup.cheat file add "floatProp tvVolume 0.3" (without the ") at the top of the notepad file before your alias cheats
here's an example:
floatProp tvVolume 0.3
alias ff "familyfunds" "shortened command for FamilyFunds"

I typed testing cheats enabled in the same way as you did, but it didn't work.
I have to type it in differently into the game too.

it doesnt work, i have the exact same version of the sims as you i downloaded it just like you did but the game wont recogise my userstartup file :( the only cheats i put on the folder is boolprop testingcheatsenabled true and boolprop useShaders true

yes, you can, i used to question this too but i have seen others do it since. i think all you need to do is pay attention to keep the words in brackets as they are in the original cheat, other than that you can shorten the non-bracketed word of the cheat how you like
