Considering Blitzø’s issues with feeling like everyone he cares about leaving him or getting hurt, I feel like when Stolas gives him the Asmodean crystal as a way out of their contract, he’s probably going to think Stolas is trying to abandon him, and he’s probably going to get angry about it and end up hurting them both emotionally for a while. Hopefully not, but Blitzo probably won’t see the real reasoning behind it seeing as he hates himself and doesn’t seem to understand the fact that other people are capable of _loving him._
I think (or at least I HOPE SO) Stolas is going to talk to him before handing over the crystal, the episode after Full moon is "apology tour" after all SO I'M BEGGING
Hopefully, Stolas will explain everything, and Blitzø will actually understand, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the conversation didn’t _start off_ very well, since they always seem to have a problem with communicating their thoughts and feelings properly when they’re in a a possibly delicate situation like this. Hopefully if there is a misunderstanding, it’ll be resolved quickly, or it’s going to hurt _both_ of them.
Add onto this that basically ALL of their society, save for Asmodeus and Fizz, pretty much treat imps as not possibly worthy of this sort of care. Gotta remember, Azzy and Fizz are the ABSOLUTE exception, VERY MUCH not the rule. To the point of all the ridiculousness and the fact that even the two of THEM were being incredible hypocrites about Stolas and Blitzo's relationship back at the club. The best way I see the team tying this up is with Fizz 'paying back' the 'favor' granted by Blitzo by smacking him upside the head with the two of them's newfound very tentative 'friendship', for lack of a better word, and Fizz and Azzy making it incredibly clear exactly how Stolas feels to Blitz, asking him if he's a moron and going to throw away what he has, and convincing Blitz through that long connection with Fizz that he needs this and both their futures ride on it, before something terrible happens. Either way, I kinda feel like the friendship they repaired is going to come in clutch more than just for the gem.
I feel like if that happens fizz might save it. Like I can see plot extending to Fizz helping him to see Stolas cares "he came to asmodeus for you not himself idiot, he came so you can be free, so you can be not dependent on him and be able to say no to him, he is not trying to get rid of you, he is letting you go despite praying you will stay"
I was crying so hard. This is absolutely incredible. The gorgeous visuals, the haunting music, the pain in Stolas' voice, you can instantly understand exactly how bad he wants Blitzø, how he wishes Blitzø would tell him how he feels, and how Stolas wonders if he's the problem. Paranoid DJ did an amazing job.
I agree with you, but I keep seeing you comment the same copy and paste comment on the top of every reaction video to this song, and despite everything you said being right, it’s giving me ptsd 💀
As a quick note, I'm 100% certain "ConEd" was a case of autocowrecked in the subtitles. The original song used the word "conjured", and it makes much more sense within the context of the song. ...and yes, in terms of dads in Hell, Paimon's neglectful parenting is nothing compared to Cash and Crimson.
Both yes and no on the last note. Surprisingly, it's been found that extreme neglect is worse than extreme abuse because though fucked up, bad attention is better than no attention at all. (I'm still not sure about this but apparently this is what studies say)
@@pie1o1morris46 I dont think theres a solid way to rank them honestly. Every kid is also different and one might be worse to them personally too. I can say in my experience I had a very present parent that was both a solid provider that was nice sometimes and also a monster at times and THAT combo leaves you really torn up with both wanting love and hating it. I surely wished I was alone and away from him, but if I had been alone with a neglectful father theres every chance I would have missed ANY attention? Basically it seems like we can hardly tell since each child will naturally crave what they don't have :') Interesting topic though!
So I can say that the topic of that night was touched upon. If you read Stolas's messages in the hospital, he tried to talk about what happened and Blitz avoided it and wouldn't really respond. After the incident, you see Stolas trying to reach out and hang out and just wanting to talk, and blitz either avoiding or canceling on him. It should be noticed Stolas always gave him an option. "You can come or not". "If you're too busy, that's okay". Things like that that possibly Blitz interpretted as Stolas canceling or backing out rather than Stolas being unsure and trying not to be pushy. those text messages really gave insight to how much Stolas is trying and how Blitz still distant with his insecurities.
When Stolas says "unless its me" it broke me in ways i didnt realize i could break, because its like looking in a mirror.....that pure self destructive hate of ones self, always thinking that you're the problem........that you always will be.🥺
The good news is, this is a standalone. It's sort of a minisode, bridging the gap and giving us some valuable insight into Stolas' gameplan and the fact that he now HAS the crystal. Chekhov's Gun is now locked and loaded. I looked forward to your reaction to this because it does hit so hard, and your reactions are always emotionally insightful and not just 'lmao horny owl caught feels'. Welcome to the ranks of those of us who have been personally victimized by Bryce's voice and the Spindlehorse team plus Paranoid DJ!
Yeah probably to make room for some drama in the episode. My guess... Someone will try to kill BLITZ this time, just to harm Stolas. Either that or threatens HIS life to force Stolas to sign away EVERYTHING to Stella.
most miss one critical line in the song here: "until we both grow cold" he's refering to their death. He's either lost faith in ever being able to fix what's broken - or, even slightly, mixes in some suicidal thoughts there. Yes, he's THAT far on the edge, with his totally messed-up life.
You know, a thought. If Blitz can barely write... can he barely read as well? Stolas tends to be very verbose in his texts, with a lot of very big words which arn't commonly used. I wonder wow much of Stolas texts can he actually understand? A lot of their issues could come from him simply reaching out, or even trying to explain things to Blitz in a manner Btliz is literally incapable of understanding.
in the first episode he yells at Stolas twice to use less "fancy people talk" and surely that adds to him feeling "lesser". He also gets mad in another episode when Stolas uses a bigger word he doesn't recognize. I think Blitzø says "what did you call me!?" so yeah,....add on them being written text and I'm sure he does have to spend time basically deciphering a huge wall of text that has confusing words and a lot of mixed meanings "we can _ or maybe not, or we can __ if needed" like the messages aren't simple or clear at all just for someone who KNOWS how to write/read, let alone someone struggling with it. ....then he has to type back after all that reading >
The "light leaving his eyes" moment at the end might be something different. From what we've seen in the past, the white pupils seem to be an indication of intense emotion (Octavia has them constantly because she's depressed, Stella is always angry, Stolas showed them momentarily when realizing that he forgot about the promise he made to view Azathoth's tears with Octavia) So, the white pupils fading is likely not a moment of him losing all joy and hope in his life, but instead a moment where he is calming down and repressing the intense emotions he feels from the thought that Blitzø will likely leave him
I remember those eyes in Season 2: Episode 1 when he was a kid. You can always see the white spark in his eyes when it was his flashback, and now he only has those in great moments of emotion.
I only just remembered that in Season 2 Episode 1, King Paimon bought Blitzø to be Stolas' "friend" for the day. So far as we've seen, everyone but Stolas knew that this was the real reason as to why Blitzø was spending time with him. I don't know if it was explained to Stolas after the fact that it was just for the day, but later in the episode, Stolas still refers to Blitzø as his "first ever friend". I don't think he ever knew or found out that there wasn't an actual friendship between them and it was just transactional. Taking that into consideration, this is the second time Blitzø has had a deal with the Goetia family with no real regard as to what he wants or feels. Both when he was a child and now as an adult, his bond with Stolas has only ever been transactional at best and I think that might also be a factor as to why Blitzø is struggling so much with staying with Stolas. He might have also developed feelings for him over the course of time, but since he's been scorned in the past, he's trying to preemptively protect himself by convincing himself that it's just another business transaction. Just my personal headcanon about Blitzø's perspective.
At a live panel that Viv did with a few VAs, it was said that there’s a Stolas and Blitz duet… and considering the next episode is called “The Full Moon”… I’m guessing that we might get it then. There are 12 episodes in this season overall, which means there’s a lot more that could happen which is terrifying but I’m so excited to get my heart broken.
Fck, I’m crying again. Stolas shooting off the water was stunning. The transitions, Bryce managed to put so much emotion and pain in his voice and unless I’m going insane but Bryce’s voice cracks fix perfectly it’s this. These two need to communicate. I do love 9:34 as it shows the string from Chinese legend. 9:54 Shows us the side of the moon we can’t see, it’s symbolizing how Stolas is finally seeing what he didn’t before. That is character development at it’s max. 14:25 His pupils fading away hurt me so much as they only appear during extreme emotions. I am surprised I still have enough tears left.
Something I don't think I've seen talked about: Blitz being the moon. Stolas has always been about astrology and one of the biggest things in that is the moon. It's part of his duties, and this shows him at least seeing Blitz as important, or even more important to him, with the linked line between him and moon/Blitz. Him breaking the tether to the moon could be symbolizing of not only letting go of Blitz, but of his own history/duty. That he doesn't see the difference anymore.
A while back the team released some Tarot themed merch and Blitz was the moon in that too. The Moon (XVIII) The Moon is a card of illusion and deception, and therefore often suggests a time when something is not as it appears to be. Perhaps a misunderstanding on your part, or a truth you cannot admit to yourself. The Moon is tidally locked with earth meaning we only ever see one side, the dark side of the moon being forever hidden to us. Stolas has realized that Blitz is also not what he appears to be, he has another side to him that he keeps hidden from everyone, a traumatic damaged side. In the video it isn't until Stolas' tears turn his form into starlight that he is able to traverse to the far side and see Blitz as he sees himself, a broken, shielded, tortured soul, who has built up so many walls that despite stolas being one of the most powerful beings in hell, none of his status or wealth or power can bring them down. He has realized what his next move has to be but he has started to realize what he is up against and it terrifies him. Other meanings of the moon card are: mysteries unveiled, release of fear, unhappiness, hidden things, Insecurity, and mental confusion. Tarot meanings aside saying someone is the moon has also has connotations similar to putting someone on a pedestal. No matter how much the moon means to you it will always remain oblivious to your feelings and is forever out of your reach. This is shown when the moon starts small and manageable, cradled in his hands like a fragile toy, small and insignificant (representing blitz at he beginning of their relationship) but as time goes on the moon in the video keeps growing as blitz starts to become more and more important to him. At first till he can no longer hold it in his arms and then it becomes vast and out of reach. A beacon, forever in view but never attainable.
LOVED THE VIDEO -A small thing i liked, though maybe un-intentional is that Stolas focuses and equates Blitz to the moon. He is in a room full of planets and large celestial bodies but he picks the smallest one to focus on and cherish. Like how Blitz is considered small and worth less than all the others because hes an imp, he is the boring worthless small rock in the sky but still cherished by Stolas. Taking his attention from anything else that might be more interesting to him. Maybe reading too much into it but i likr the thought😊😊❤
The light in his eyes is used to emphasize strong emotions. For instance, when Blitz and I.M.P. got caught by D.H.O.R.K.S., the white appeared as he scolded him. It also appeared when he was arguing with Stella.
Keep in mind there’s one detail I think a lot of people have forgotten from the first episode of the second season. Stolas has depression he is taking antidepressants. There’s also some thing that I am very very worried about. There keeps being these little hints of Stolas dying, not help by the fact that the first freaking song he sings in the show talks about it too. Throw in the fact that Stella and her brother are “ bidding their time” I worry about what’s going to happen to him in the season finale. (And that’s not even getting into the fact that the fans of Stolas are probably going to riot if anything happens to him.)
@@alyssabullock6421 all depends on the story they want to tell. Blitzo has self loathing because of the death of his mother. Something of which his sister might also blame him for. There’s the fact that Stella and her brother stopped his assassination because they wanted to make sure that they were in a more beneficial position first. There’s the fact that his daughter has a fear of him leaving and never coming back. There’s all the death and dying imagery that has been floating around him since the series started. There’s the fact that the first song he ever sings to his daughter about how even when he’s gone, she will be OK. Unfortunately, a lot of things that seem to hint to this. And believe me, I would absolutely be thrilled to be wrong about this. Is a solid portion of the helluva boss fan community because Stolas is just that likable character.
Death or a close call might be a really good way to bond Blitz and Stolas together. We've already gotten a glimpse of Blitzo's feelings when Stolas was on the way to the hospital. Another moment like that but with both of them together and possibly an even closer call might do the job
I dont think the bind on their souls "ending" is as bad as you seem to think it is. Blitz told Stolas to his face that he thinks Stolas is only using him for sex. So Stolas intends to proove him wrong by ending their contract while providing Blitz with an alternative to keep his business going. The hope is that by doing this he can start over and form a real relationsip, and I sincerely wish the best for them. ❤
I hope the original writer and creator is getting the same amount of love. They all did a fantastic job and the fact a fan made song became canon is so wonderful.
I love when Stolas flies after the moon, now shown in true size. He's so small and insignificant, pleading to Blitzo to look his way, even though he knows or fears he will be easily overlooked in his insignificance - he falls away, drowning away, hoping that maybe Blitzo will at least see him.
I interpreted it as Stolas trying to carry the relationship completely on his own. He's willing to do most of the heavy lifting. He gets so close to the moon symbolising Blitzø, but ultimately falls because a relationship is a group effort. He may be able to do most of the heavy lifting, but he needs at least something, even if it's not much, from Blitzø, so that this can work.
I read it as this: The bond, the link, everything Stolas talks about ending and breaking between him and Blitz isn't their relationship, but the contract surrounding the Grimoire. Remember, these are demons, and Stolas is demonic royalty. He even said in the episode before last: A contract with one of them would be eternally binding. Even something as small as the deal he made over the phone with Blitz could very well come with a hefty amount of power. So he wants to sever THAT bond. His fear, as is apparent in the lyrics, is that after Blitz's remarks following Ozzie's, is that Blitz will either stand firm on the "you only want me for sex" stance despite his own feelings, or he will take this as Stolas rejecting him entirely. These boys really need to just sit down and talk, gdi.
This was heartbreakingly beautiful. The artistry, the calming, melancholic music, and the images and colors was phenomenal. This is probably my favorite song out of Helluva Boss because this reveals the tensions of Stolas and Blitz’s relationship. While I know Stolas is ready to let go, and that’s a difficult choice to make, I am interested to see how Stolas and Blitz meet again in a future episode to see if Blitz will understand Stolas’ feelings as Stolas tried to do for Blitz. By far, my favorite song from this series. Great reaction too, sending hugs and love after this tear jerker.
Stolas is basically tiptoeing in the desperation of wanting to keep something that may not be real, because the fear of losing it is too great, on other hand he is coming to terms that his chances are almost zero. It's heartbreaking.
Man, watching this another ten times (lmao) I have thoughts on the symbolism with Stolas and Blitz-as-the-Moon. Obviously, Blitz is the moon because that's the symbol of their connection. But to add to that symbolism, at the start we see Stolas on this grand cosmic scale (which I LOVE); this eldritch universal power surrounded by planets and galaxies that all gravitate towards him, and this tiny little moon that he loves and wants to keep close, but then allows to escape his orbit. Throughout the rest of the video, that moon is looming larger and larger in Stolas' world while he is shrinking in relation to it. During the bridge, he is just around the same size as it is, equals in the space, trying to understand it. When he starts to think and sing about severing their tie and his desperate need to keep Blitz in his life, we finally see the complete inversion of the start; the moon is now HUGE; it dominates the space, and Stolas sees himself as so tiny next to it. Powerless, which after making this move with the Crystal, he will be.
So, I know I loved Fizz these last past 2 episodes but Stolas is something else. My heart bleed for our boy and I can't see Full Moon having a positive outcome. Everytime he sings, we get a glimpse of how sad he truly is. And I don't like gim implying his death twice already when surrounded by stars. I love that he knows why Blitz act the way he does, just to protect himself, but unable to reached him because it's Blitz time to make the choice to accept happiness. I just hope that mending his relationship with Fizz can help him forgive himself and start a new life with the people who care for him.
The new video made me all misty-eyed! "Look my Way"' has changed lyrics from Paranoid DJ's original now that more lore and story has been animated! The original lyrics: I long to hear your voice. Come now, my little impish plaything, We both made our choice. The changed lyrics I long to hear your voice. But dearest, I know better now I must give you this choice. The original: This unspoken contract... The change: His unspoken contract... The original: Let me explain 'Cause I'm terrified as I cry to make these feelings true What's left for me in this broken house If I cannot have you The changes: Let me explain But I'm terrified as I cry to make these feelings true What's left for me in my broken heart If I cannot have you. The original: It's not enough To get through the walls you've conjured up to live? Is this how she'd feel Abandoned, all alone and left to fend for herself? For some semblance of happiness that doesn't have to end? The video skipped part of the chorus and we have more changed lyrics: It's not enough To get through the walls you've conjured up to live? Is this what you feel Scorned by a realm that cannot comprehend what you are so I'll grant you this Mercy this bind on our souls needs to end.
This video looks like a standalone due to how the scene starts and ends, it definitely is preparing us for next episode titled "Full moon" (Personally had hoped it was a loona episode before now but oh well) which is what Blitz is depicted as in this video due to that being when they meet. Can't wait for that heart crushing event, these two can't communicate for their lives so there's a very high likelihood of tragedy. Note, Stolas and Fizz and Asmodeus/Vortex are all broadway singers so them being good is no real surprise, something interesting I found out is Asmodeus's/Vortex's voice actor actually did voices for the Hazbin pilot. BTW this was a fan song by Paranoid DJ just like addict used to be a fan one too by Silva. However the lyrics have been altered from the original fan one so it's definitely canon and likely some of the changes are important. A example is he says "little Impish plaything" but that's been removed likely because Blitz hates that term and Stolas probably knows that by now.
4:30 so it was really easy to miss but they did actually have the aftermath of S1E7, it was in the texts on Stolas' phone at the end of S2E4 when he's in the hospital bed; kind of an oof way to put it in but then oof is a pretty good description of their entire relationship so I figure it fits
the light in the eyes thing is also interesting because it's his pupils. Stolas doesn't normally have pupils, he only gets the tiny white dots when something makes him emotional, whether it's good or bad. I took it to be he was getting very upset thinking about Blitz and when he realized how far into his own thoughts he got, he tries to lock all those feelings away and re-compose himself, obviously it doesn't work with him putting his head in his hands but he's pushing away most of his feelings and trying to stay neutral because he thinks it's the right way to handle it. He's never been able to express his feelings over anything because he is a prince and needs to remain professional and at home he has Stella picking fights 24/7 and probably getting mad at him if he expresses any struggles he's having. He doesn't know how to express any of this so instead of talking, he's letting Blitz make the choice for him rather than daring to hurt his own feelings by trying to talk. The 'light' leaving his eyes is him crushing those feelings down so he can cope with what he knows is the right thing to do, even though he clearly doesn't want it because he already knows what Blitz's answer will be
14:52 actually that something that Stolas does very often, showing his pupils sometimes, usually to show how he feels or what's he looking at specifically, at least that's what I think I don't know why sometimes his eyes are without his pupils and sometimes he has them, it's very curious
From what we've been shown, it seems like it has to do with the intensity of his emotion in the moment. It's happened both times he's used/attempted to use paralysis, and in both times it was some level of attempt on his life. It happened in Truth Seekers when he and Blitz are arguing about Blitz not being careful in the human world, in Ozzie's when Blitz calls him and asks him on their "date" (EXCITED! OWL!), again in Ozzie's when Asmodeus calls him out in front of everyone (an oh shit moment for Stolas back then), and then very notably in the confrontation with Stella at the start of S2. Which, from what we're given to understand, is likely the ONLY time he has stood up to her. It's DECADES of repressed emotion coming out. There's a couple times in Western Energy, too, as well as when Ozzie refuses to give him the crystal, for just a *second*. It's when his emotions are at their most intense. So I expect/hope to see those little pupils quite a bit in Full Moon.
Something I don't see people notice/ stress enough is the fact that Stolas wont just leave Blitzø. The way he pushes towards the moon near the end of the video as well as the vocals seem to show that he wont give up after giving the crystal. However he wont try take control of Blitzø anymore. Stolas knows that if he leaves and hopes that Blitzø makes the first move by himself then it most likely wont happen anytime soon since Blitzø is pretty much selfdestructive and will push away everyone that cares about him to prove that they would have left anyway. If Stolas left then (without help) Blitzø wouldnt take action because he would think that he's being abandoned again. This means that Stolas will try to make things right and maybe Blitzø will realize that he's not trying to get rid of him with the crystal ("Why is he still here after he got rid of me with the crystal?"). It probably is not a mystery, I know but I still wanted to point this out since I deem it rather important to the plot.
Without going into the reaction itself or how beautiful the video is, the lyrics are actually "conjured up to live". RUclips subtitles just got it wrong. There are lyric videos made by fans if you want to just comb through the lyrics at any point.
I remember hearing in the osp video on Loki that Christianity has this concept of things getting fucked up enough that they need to be burned away so something better can take its place. 1x7 showed that the relationship of Stolas and Blitzø had clear issues. Blitzo was terrified that Stolas only wanted him for an imp fetish, and Stolas hiding his face seemed to confirm that (if incorrectly). After the failed date, Stolas tries to make amends and keep things romantic, and is shut down because everything was just a deal based on sex. It is after that that Stolas finds the crystal in a book and finally divorces Stella. He realizes that things aren’t the way he wants them to be, and it’s his fault. This song, I believe, represents Stolas’ decision to make the hard, and likely risky, choice to set Blitzo free from their deal, because he knows nothing romantic can happen between them so long as there is a power imbalance. This song is sad because it exposes Stolas’ fears and insecurities, but it is also hopeful. It is a prelude to a potentially brighter future for him and the man he loves. I hope when the next episode comes out, Stolas’ act bears fruit.
It took me a few watches to really catch the wonderful symbolism with the moon. It starts out tiny and easily plucked from its orbit by Stolas. He holds onto it at first, then he releases it to drift on its own and grow. When it's finally comparable in size to him, he gets to see Blitz's perspective, then he fully relinquishes the moon. As it thrives and dwarfs him in size, Stolas can only hope that the moon will pull him in before he drifts away from it.
I want to give my take on the text message thing while Stolas was in the hospital: I was under the impression that Blitz was using the baby talk that Stolas always uses on him, as a way to reach out without being too serious or show too much concern. When Stolas asked him to visit, Blitz started to reply, but then deleted it, because he knows/fears that he's getting too close to Stolas emotionally.
I think this is like Addict since that was a fan song that was then animated into an official video. "Just Look My Way" was originally made all the way back in 2021, but they made this video for it (and actually made some changes to the song itself since the original wasn't sung by Stolas' actual voice actor).
I believe the actual word in the line of the song is "conjured" but for some odd reason the subtitles read it as "conned". Beautiful song and visuals though. Bryce and the team did a wonderful job with this song and its video.
Viv was saying a Stolas animation was coming, and Paranoid DJ (who wrote this) said he had a surprise project coming out around the same time. I barely dared to think this would be what happened but it did!!! This is one of my favorite songs of his!
THANK YOU! I'm so tired of people getting mad about Blitz not answering more than he did after Stolas got hurt, but it is literally canon he can't freakin' spell! It's been an established fact SINCE THE PILOT! Even the billboard he ordered was typed out using speech to text. You see is in EVERYTHING he writes. So, thank you for seeing that.
Both of Stolas’ songs brought me to tears. Also my theory is Blitz will take this as Stolas ‘getting rid of him’ and he’ll be angry at Stolas after getting the crystal.
Bryce is both Stolas' VA and Singing VA 🥰. You are the 2nd person, to notice his eyes towards the end, I personally thought his eyes were reminiscent of his eyes when he was a kid. Which makes it personally sadder because it's almost like, even with everything going on in Stolas head thinking of Blitz brings him "childlike" joy and realizing that this could the end of him and Blitz is slowly killing/killed the last of the joy in his life (besides Octavia), hence the light leaving his eyes. 😭I'm sorry if that got a little dark/morbid, obviously I hope I'm wrong and everything works out between Stolas and Blitz, personally I'd love for them to eventually have a relationship as strong and genuine like Ozmodeus and Fizz's. ❤❤❤
Stolas is one of the Ars Goatia Princes and he is historically/religiously also known as Stolos a Prince of hell (the 36th prince to be precise) responssible for 'herbs/plants, Astronomy And precious stones'. So there are a lot of real world human religion history in the series.
part of why this song feels a bit different from the recent songs may be because it's a fan song made by Paranoid DJ (he does great works, and I do recommend him) and the fact that this song was originally made early season 1, somewhere between episodes 2 and 5 from my recollection, so it makes sense it feels a little different. To clear up any confusion, I'm not saying these are negatives. In fact, I think it is amazing that a fan creator got their work in Helluva Boss. It's just interesting that a song from that long ago about a much earlier Stolas is being used now, I wonder how it will fit in the coming episode.
I mean i 100% agree with basically everything sarcastic chorus said about this song,Stolas is TRYING,he acknowledged that he fucked up at Ozzie's,he also knows that Blitz probably has severe personal issues that's why he puts this walls to keep people away, but he's going to try, he's going to give Blitz a way out with a big chance of him getting away forever, but even knowing that he's going to try.
One plot i think might happen is that Blitz leave, kinda confused and surpriced, and kinda leaves leaves. and stolas so depressed he makes a deal with either stella or strider og both, where he lets them kill him in return for idk, octavias safety or something. and then HOPEFULL blitz will realize and save him. I alo suspect similar plots but with "better or worse" endings. They have after all, foreshadowed something will happen to stolas since the start of the show, and he's also clearly been really depressed for a very long time. Or maybe Blitz saves him on the brink of death, and stolas needs a long time for recovery, but they have to go undercover or smt, blitz has to nurse him back. While his family thinks he's dead, stella and andreolphus plans to find one corrupt way or another to take the power away from octavia, possible still hurt her, and eventually stolas is "resurrected" and manage to stop them in time
You know, when it comes to Stolitz, I’ve always felt bad for them and their individual problems, but I’d never actually felt so emotionally connected to them until now. I don’t cry easy at media but I got a lump in my throat watching this music video. The talented vocals and animation as well as the writing of the song was the perfect concoction of tragedy to REALLY get to me. Everything about it is absolutely stunning. I’m so proud of Viv and her team for getting this far in their project. This video compared to the pilot and first few episodes is a STARK difference. Well done, truly.
Man I hope Blitz working things out with Fizz mean he is open to . . . more talking then normal. He actually opened up during their escape. IIRC, Bryce said he and Blitz have a duet next episode. Let's hope that is a good thing
@@AHorrorFanaticso the middle chorus was cut entirely (and was the weakest one IMO), and then there’s these: Come now, my little impish plaything/ We both made our choice To But dearest, I know better now/ I must give you this choice What’s left for me and this broken house if I cannot have you? To What’s left for me and my broken heart if I cannot have you? Is this how she’d feel? @@AHorrorFanatic welcome! I’ve been listening to the original repeatedly the last few weeks, after I heard that there would be a music video and the rumors were it would be Just Look My Way.
I hate to say it, but if it’s true, blitz really f’kd it up. Loosing someone who actually cares about him and is just blinded by his own selfishness This legit made me cry 😢
I think they both want the relationship, however neither of them know that the other wants it too. Blitzø doesn’t take rejection well so he pushes people away. Stolas just wants him to love him. To Blitzø Stolas just thinks of their relationship as a kink like he said in episode 6 of season 2. He doesn’t want to think Stolas may care for him because if he doesn’t then he’ll just be left alone with those feelings. If they just talked they would see that both want the relationship to happen. Stolas obviously understands more of Blitzø’s mindset, but he doesn’t exactly know what that means for them. Blitzø however doesn’t and can’t open his mind or heart to the possibility that Stolas loves him because of his intense fear of rejection. He can’t love himself so who could? At least that’s how he likely views it. That’s what I’ve picked up on at least. I could be wrong could also be projecting though. 😅
@@elizabethhallett5060you’re right because Blitz had issues with both Moxxie and Fizz, and it took him being kidnapped with both of them for the issues to be resolved.
Genuine question, why is Blitz surprised that Stolas can get hurt...if in the first episode where we meet Striker, Striker has a weapon capable of killing Stolas. Blitz even comments to Striker: "...I'm not a fan of someone I offered a job to about to off my easiest lengthy ticket to Earth behind my back," which means that he knows that, in fact, Stolas can get hurt, and not just that, but killed too, Maybe I missed something or misunderstood but this has been on my mind for a while now.
Think of it like this - Blitz sees Stolas as some high-and-mighty Overlord-class Demon. He's never *seen* him actually being wounded. Threatened? Sure, but typically that ends poorly for those who try, so seeing Stolas *ACTUALLY* being injured was a shock to his system.
To be fair, both are at guilt for starting a relationship the wrong way. Blitzo was the one who began. He slept with Stolas just to steal the Grimoire. And then Stolas came up with the deal of "once a month on the full moon you return it to me followed by a night of passionate ff-ation and you keep it the rest of the time" Neither knew better at the time. And problem is they haven't spoken about how their feelings changed along the way towards each other.
Unfortunately for Stolas, just giving Blitzo a gem as a way out fundamentally can't fix the problem. If Blitzo doesn't earn it or buy it himself he will probably still feel like Stolas has something on him. Believe me I want this to work but realistically Blitzo, who is extremely depressed, self hating, and personally destructive to the point of harming others, has shown absolutely no sign that this will work the way Stolas thinks it will.
my big prediction is going to be Blitz is going to see this gift as Stolas wanting to end the contract and not wanting to see him, after all he thinks so low of himself why would someone of such high standing want to be seen with him, to him the book is the one reason Stolas has to interact with him and giving him the crystal to him would seem like Stolas wanting to end the relationship
'This is gonna hurt' Yes. Yes it will. I signed up for this shit even though Vivzipop up front put the blendtec blender on the table. I'm the one that let them rip my heart out and turn it into a smoothie. Don't feel bad about not remembering names. I don't do well with names either if i'm not constantly exposed. This was actually a fan music video that they re-recorded with the actual VA for stolas and animation team with some changes to denote changes that happened in S2 (because the original fan work was made before S2 happened.) Just... the amount of heartache and fear in Stolas's voice here, combined with the imagry.
I think another reason blitzø puts walls between them so much is bcs its not only stolas that uses him he had also used stolas ever since their first meeting so he feels no self worth for love. its a messy situation
Actually, he made a comment in S1 E7 that a point was made to ensure Blitz never looked at Stolas directly, so "Just Look My Way" could be interpreted as literal
8:30 I didn’t even think about that… Blitzø probably feels intimidated trying to explain his complicated emotions through text alone. Considering the fact that he’s basically illiterate, and has to text someone who’s probably read every book in existence. Making their relationship that much more difficult.
I think youre breakdown was one of the most in depth and i looked at alot of reacts for this (hb and atla fans love seeing others suffer with them afterall) Big point that i think everyone overlooks. This WILL self destruct for both. And if this is how emotional people get at stolas' lament my body isn't ready for ovilia/blitz reaction to if Stella/Striker win. Alot of death flags have popped up afterall...
If the won't f up communication everything will be okay. Not the happy end, but from that point they will be able to grow together and be a couple for real. Dunno but I feel optimistic for this stuff. Like they both learned so much to finally reach this spot. The could stay in the toxic swamp they had for a reeeeaaaaly long time. But yet here we are. It just...it will not be fair if after all stuff they had they break up because their growth was not enough.
I think the line really was actually "conjured up to live." Automatic subtitles get very wonky on this platform (and ConEd is an east coast electricity provider)
100% this.
Like I can see plot extending to Fizz helping him to see Stolas cares
"he came to asmodeus for you not himself idiot, he came so you can be free, so you can be not dependent on him and be able to say no to him, he is not trying to get rid of you, he is letting you go despite praying you will stay"
I don't know how you do it... But I see you everywhere. Also, I completely agree with you on that.
Oh thank God someone else commented about that 😂
Both yes and no on the last note.
@@electrobob992Oh, MAN. I hadn’t considered that possibility. Maybe.
I just watched the DJ version and was wondering if they were the fan that wrote the song.
confirmed
most miss one critical line in the song here: "until we both grow cold"
he's refering to their death.
He's either lost faith in ever being able to fix what's broken - or, even slightly, mixes in some suicidal thoughts there.
Yes, he's THAT far on the edge, with his totally messed-up life.
If even the singer apparently was tearing up over this song that says alot.
I've heard that Bryce cried while performing "Stolas Sings", so I can imagine he definitely cried for this one, if he's got every fan crying too. 😭
"YOU WATCH THE LIGHT LEAVE HIS EYES"
NAAAAAAAAAAAAAA YOU GOT ME THERE, HOW I STOP CRYING NOW MAN.....
The part that hurts most. The first ever song that hits us harder than anything with absolutely *NO* swearing.
Uhh didn’t “you will be okay” have zero swears?
And owl in a cage?
@@ninjafalls1739 did any of them run this long?
Ok but implication that swearing would hit anyone is so funny
I think Blitzø says "what did you call me!?"
so yeah,....add on them being written text and I'm sure he does have to spend time basically deciphering a huge wall of text that has confusing words and a lot of mixed meanings "we can _ or maybe not, or we can __ if needed" like the messages aren't simple or clear at all just for someone who KNOWS how to write/read, let alone someone struggling with it. ....then he has to type back after all that reading >
The "light leaving his eyes" moment at the end might be something different. From what we've seen in the past, the white pupils seem to be an indication of intense emotion (Octavia has them constantly because she's depressed, Stella is always angry, Stolas showed them momentarily when realizing that he forgot about the promise he made to view Azathoth's tears with Octavia)
So, the white pupils fading is likely not a moment of him losing all joy and hope in his life, but instead a moment where he is calming down and repressing the intense emotions he feels from the thought that Blitzø will likely leave him
I think Stella and Octavia always have pupils because they're both females (?)
@@daniewings I don't think that's the case, but as far as I know there's no evidence against it, so a theory's a theory
I remember those eyes in Season 2: Episode 1 when he was a kid. You can always see the white spark in his eyes when it was his flashback, and now he only has those in great moments of emotion.
@@NightshadeOwU Exactly, because he's been taught to repress his emotions now
@@NightshadeOwU omg I wasn't sure if it was just a design detail, and never put it together that it could just be his extreme repression of himself 😭
Do you know if “the full moon” episode is coming out soon? Or do u know when it could possibly?
@@nero2415 I believe people are saying it’s gonna be in April?
This song is so sad, you can hear the pain in Stolas' voice. You can tell that Stolas loves Blitz very much.
LOVED THE VIDEO
-A small thing i liked, though maybe un-intentional is that Stolas focuses and equates Blitz to the moon.
Throw in the fact that Stella and her brother are “ bidding their time”
I worry about what’s going to happen to him in the season finale.
(And that’s not even getting into the fact that the fans of Stolas are probably going to riot if anything happens to him.)
I highly doubt theyre gonna kill him off. It would be a pretty dumb move to make tbh
What a twist that would be, which is why I actually subscribe to this theory.
The original lyrics:
I long to hear your voice.
Come now, my little impish plaything,
We both made our choice.
The changed lyrics
I long to hear your voice.
But dearest, I know better now
I must give you this choice.
The original:
This unspoken contract...
The change:
His unspoken contract...
The original:
Let me explain
'Cause I'm terrified as I cry
to make these feelings true
What's left for me in this broken house
If I cannot have you
The changes:
Let me explain
But I'm terrified as I cry
to make these feelings true
What's left for me in my broken heart
If I cannot have you.
The original:
It's not enough
To get through the walls you've conjured up to live?
Is this how she'd feel
Abandoned, all alone and left to fend
for herself?
For some semblance of happiness that doesn't have to end?
The video skipped part of the chorus and we have more changed lyrics:
It's not enough
To get through the walls you've conjured up to live?
Is this what you feel
Scorned by a realm that cannot comprehend what you are
so I'll grant you this Mercy
this bind on our souls needs to end.
Paranoid dj is the original, she made the fan made song canon
It hits harder when you realize this was originally a fan-song and they actually changed the lyrics to make it fit with the show's narrative.
Your attention to detail is one of the reasons I love to watch your reaction videos. Never even processed the spelling problem. Nice job!
The 'light' leaving his eyes is him crushing those feelings down so he can cope with what he knows is the right thing to do, even though he clearly doesn't want it because he already knows what Blitz's answer will be
14:52 actually that something that Stolas does very often, showing his pupils sometimes, usually to show how he feels or what's he looking at specifically, at least that's what I think
I don't know why sometimes his eyes are without his pupils and sometimes he has them, it's very curious
This was originally a fan made song now turned canon!
Bryce Pinkham has the emotion singing that I love full heart to a fan song. if you haven't heard him doing Sibella from A Gentleman's Guide
The thing that excites me most is. That the next episode is called (The Full Moon). Which means that Stolus will give Blitzo that Ozmodien crystal.
When Stolas asked him to visit, Blitz started to reply, but then deleted it, because he knows/fears that he's getting too close to Stolas emotionally.
man you might actually have the best reactions to these videos
you provide actually good and in depth analysis' of the lore and the characters
Helluva Boss songs are simply too good.
Bryce Pinkham was certainly cast not only for his speaking voice but also for his broadway singing voice.
A friendly reminder that the next episode is titled "Full Moon"...help, send for help.
... 😶😯🤔😨😭
@@Airier Yeah, that was me when I realized too.
I have this strange feeling...that maybe just maybe Stolas gonna be in a near-death situation, worse than S2's when he was captured by Striker
This one made me cry much more that it should have...
While his family thinks he's dead, stella and andreolphus plans to find one corrupt way or another to take the power away from octavia, possible still hurt her, and eventually stolas is "resurrected" and manage to stop them in time
I've watched a lot of reactions of this song, finally someone else realized the light leaving the eyes at the end! It's so sad :(
You know, when it comes to Stolitz, I’ve always felt bad for them and their individual problems, but I’d never actually felt so emotionally connected to them until now.
Its a fansong paranoid DJ made in 2021. Viv and the team love it so much they made it into a canon song and video! We're all so proud of him n_n
This song combined with 🎶you will be ok 🎶really makes me feel like Stolas is going to die and if that happens everything WILL NOT be ok😰
I liked that you realize Blitz legit struggles with spelling, some reactors think he's just being a cold jerk in his texts
Man I hope Blitz working things out with Fizz mean he is open to . . . more talking then normal. He actually opened up during their escape.
IIRC, Bryce said he and Blitz have a duet next episode. Let's hope that is a good thing
Thank you, I was running out of reactions to this to watch, not many ppl posted reactions yet, it's too early 😭
So, this music video is a cover over an original song by Paranoid DJ, but with a few lyric changes
I didn't nitice any changes. Which lyrics were changed?
@@AHorrorFanaticso the middle chorus was cut entirely (and was the weakest one IMO), and then there’s these:
Come now, my little impish plaything/ We both made our choice
To
But dearest, I know better now/ I must give you this choice
What’s left for me and this broken house if I cannot have you?
To
What’s left for me and my broken heart if I cannot have you?
Is this how she’d feel? Abandoned, all alone, and left to fend/ for herself, for some semblance of happiness that doesn’t have to end
To
Is this what you feel? Scorned by a realm that cannot comprehend/ what you are, so I’ll grant you this mercy, this bind on our souls needs to end
@@FlybyStardancer Thanks, it's been a while since I listened to the origonal so I couldn't really remember it.
@@AHorrorFanatic welcome! I’ve been listening to the original repeatedly the last few weeks, after I heard that there would be a music video and the rumors were it would be Just Look My Way.
I hate to say it, but if it’s true, blitz really f’kd it up. Loosing someone who actually cares about him and is just blinded by his own selfishness
This legit made me cry 😢
they need a scene where they both get kidnapped to work things out like moxxie and fizz. I swear forcing two people in a room together works.
@@VaktheFox That still feels a bit weird to me, but it makes sense. Thanks for clarifying it for me though.
To be fair, both are at guilt for starting a relationship the wrong way. Blitzo was the one who began. He slept with Stolas just to steal the Grimoire. And then Stolas came up with the deal of "once a month on the full moon you return it to me followed by a night of passionate ff-ation and you keep it the rest of the time"
Neither knew better at the time.
'This is gonna hurt'
Yes. Yes it will. I signed up for this shit even though Vivzipop up front put the blendtec blender on the table. I'm the one that let them rip my heart out and turn it into a smoothie.
Don't feel bad about not remembering names. I don't do well with names either if i'm not constantly exposed.
This was actually a fan music video that they re-recorded with the actual VA for stolas and animation team with some changes to denote changes that happened in S2 (because the original fan work was made before S2 happened.)
Just... the amount of heartache and fear in Stolas's voice here, combined with the imagry.
We are NOT prepared for Full Moon 😂😢
@@ladysekhmetkaand yet we're all gonna line up for smoothies.
10:15 , those lyrics are auto-generated btw, so it is most likely conjured up to live
If you loved this version of the song you should check out the original by Paranoid DJ, as well as his other Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel songs.
I’ve actually been in Stolas’s shoes. I am currently. I really relate to the pain in this song.
14:57 i love that there are his statues to show that LITERALLY he has only himself
ParanoidDJ sure can wright songs.
The part where it's talking about their souls the lyric is actually "This bind on our souls has to end" which is in relation to the contract
I think youre breakdown was one of the most in depth and i looked at alot of reacts for this (hb and atla fans love seeing others suffer with them afterall)
Big point that i think everyone overlooks. This WILL self destruct for both. And if this is how emotional people get at stolas' lament my body isn't ready for ovilia/blitz reaction to if Stella/Striker win. Alot of death flags have popped up afterall...
thr fact that stolas was, in the start, way bigger then the moon and at the end, too small to reach the moon is really depressing to me
10:21 Don't take RUclips subtitles at heart, they mess things up all the time.
It was announced through the HB and Viv's twitter feeds, so definitely meant to come out
This has been one of the best reviews and breakdowns of this song I've watched! 😍😭
That song and releasing it before the next episode is genius. She'll get more views now! It better be in the next episode. It better be the opening!
Remember back when in the earlier videos you said that Blitz was never looking when Stolas was caring for him? I was waiting for you to get to here.
I didn't remember that. And now I do so the video hurts even more. 😅 😶😭
The pilot actually was scratched and confirmed to be no longer cannon
when i started to watch the show i did it because of the comedic stuff, i did not want to get on this roller coaster of emotions
Your face literally looking more sad as this vid goes on just proves why your one of the best react channels
Not an insult I meant the way we can tell your sad well watching and happy when the scene is happy
11:23 God damn, save some Charisma for the rest of us
I feel like stolitz is the prime example of "right person, wrong time"
If the won't f up communication everything will be okay.
You were right the first time, it is "the walls you've conjured up to live". The captions seem to have an error at that part
The Modern Shakespearean Soliloquy. 😭
I think the line really was actually "conjured up to live." Automatic subtitles get very wonky on this platform (and ConEd is an east coast electricity provider)
(I am so proud of Paranoid DJ. He deserves ALL the kudos, oh my actual God)
I don't know your videos, but this is the second reaction video to this song I've seen today and it's refreshing that yours is genuinely emotional.
