some facts:- West Bengal have ocean (Bay of bengal) in southern most part with some parts of Sundarbans, in middle plains and mountains in most north and many forests, kolkata is capital, Asia's biggest bird sanctuary is also in west Bengal. didn't you hear about Darjeeling tea !!(if you didn't not a problem too) Darjeeling tea and assam tea are famous worldwide.Last song is modern adaptation of Rabindra sangeet(which means Rabindra nath thakur's song, who also wrote our national anthem+bangladesh's too)and you will find many bengali songs influenced by his style.
Lots of writers and filmmakers in Kerala were influenced by Bengali literature, art and music. That's why you see that similarity in Malayalam films and music. Be it poetry, literature, music or filmmaking West Bengal has produced a lot of legendary figures. As a matter of fact, the national anthem of both India and Bangladesh was penned by Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore (first non- European to win Nobel prize in literature in 1913 way before India's partition). He was a prominent figure of Bengali renaissance.
@@pritymajumdar9684 There are more Bengali songs which r emotions not only that. There is 1) Amake amar moto thakte dao 2) Moner manus 3) Bangla band songs 4) Anjan Dutta 5) Nochiketa 6) Rupankar 7) Srikanto Acharjo etc
Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle are not from West Bengal (they are from Maharashtra) but have sung in Bengali. Shreya, Arijit Singh, Shaan, Kumar Sanu etc are from West Bengal.
I wasn't a big Arijit fan earlier. I used to find a lot of songs similar, because every film wanted to recreate his last hit. And then I heard Astoma Sadgamaya. I sang this prayer for all my school life. The first 4 lines you saw when you searched is what we would sing. (They are actually in Sanskrit, an ancient language) And then the new lyrics and Arijit. What magic, what feel, AND WHAT A TALENT.
Majhe Majhe Tobo is actually a cover. The song falls under Rabrindo Sangeet which can be classified as its own genre in Bengali music. The music is by Rabrindanath Tagore one of the most prominent Bengali figures in general in both West Bengal and Bangladesh (East Bengal), during the time he was alive there was only one Bengal.
Rabindra Sangeet is a series in itself… I don’t think efra and waleska would believe that this song “Majhe Majhe Tabo” and other songs by Rabindranath Tagore are atleast more than a century old songs 😅😅😅😅 can’t believe how relevant they are even today
Yes though barfi was a Hindi movie, the story plot was based in Darjeeling & Kolkata (capital city of West Bengal) both places are in West Bengal. The 3rd song Benche Thakar Gaan was sung by Rupam Islam & composed by Anupam Roy. The last song Majhe Majhe Tobo Dekha Pai was written by Rabindranath Tagore. The first stanza of his song "Jana Gana Mana" was adopted as the National Anthem of India. The National Anthem of Bangladesh "Amar Sonar Bangla" was also written by Tagore. Some Historians say that Ananda Samarakoon wrote the National Anthem of Sri Lanka "Sri Lanka Matha" inspired by Tagore. He was one of Tagore's pupils in Visva-Bharati University. Some other historians have claimed Ananda requested Rabindranath to write the lyrics of the song, which he translated to Sinhalese. Tagore won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 for his collection of work titled "Gitanjali" (song offerings). I think he was the first non-European who won a Nobel Prize. He had also received Knighthood, but returned it as a political protest against the British Govt in India Calcutta (which is now called Kolkata) was the capital of British India till 1911.
Sunidhi chauhan is not Bengali but she sang rabindra sangeet once in her concert and she sang it like a pro .. she is just LEGEND ❤️🔥 .. most incredible singer ❤️
@@Life_Way_Wanderer Sunidhi is very good singer, but Shreya is better, Sunidhi sings rock patterns of songs very well. Indian singers means from Bengal Punjab & South.
Just for analogy and understanding the dynamics of most popular languages in India, it's like: 1. Hindi is English of India, mostly generic and maximum people understand it. 2. Punjabi is the Spanish of India, with flavour and funk and oomph. 3. Bengali is the French of India, the most exotic, sweetest and soothing to ears. Speaking normal words sound like it's the most beautiful and intricate poetry ❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Guys, Lata Mangeshkar Ji and her younger sister Asha Bhosle Ji are from the state of Maharashtra the capital city of which is the home base of Bollywood-Mumbai, but they have sung in practically every Indian language! You must listen to their songs from 1960s to 1980s to appreciate their greatness, (there are 22 major languages with different scripts and over 1600 dialects in India), so dialect changes every 100 miles & 29 states are sometimes as different as Brazil is from South Africa! (I am a Bengali though)! You have NOT touched modern Indian Film music evolving from folk if you haven't heard the legendary SD Burman and fusion of India with the West if you haven't heard his equally illustrious son RD Burman! Both are deceased!
@@dametocosita4994 they stayed in Pune & Mumbai most of the days. Lata used to sing on Maharashtra day. She herself identified more closely to Marathi culture. Secondly, half of the Indore is Marathi.
LOL !! Efra's energy is so contagious 😄. Almost every song gets him so excited and he goes "this is my favourite song for today" - he said that for 'Bojhena' , then for 'Jao pakhi bolo' and then for 'Preme pora baron' and then 'Dekho aloy aloy akash' got him to mellow down and he loved that one too. We love watching Efra being his craziest self every once in a while.
You have just touched the tip of the iceberg 🧊, you need 10 more episodes to cover West Bengal music. You people are musical you are lucky enough to understand and feel music.
Even though they are not Bengali women, both Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle have truly exemplified the sound of Indian music for generations across the whole country. Hence, every region of India feels they are their own. They have broken barriers beyond regions. Thanks for appreciating them in the video alongside other very talented Bengali artists.
Kudos to you that that you have also found Rupam Islam. The one of the most underrated and evolutionary music composer, song writer and singer of West Bengal. We are as blessed with Rabindra Sangeet as with Rupam and his band Fossils. He has injected rock music in the veins of Bengali youths alongside with the pioneer Band Mohiner Ghoraguli, cactus etc.
As many people have said already, the last song is written by 'Gurudeb' Rabindranath Tagore. He's a nobel prize winning author, and a proper renaissance man of Bengal. He's written and composed thousands of songs, while being a prolific author, educationist, and many other things. Almost all Bengali people have a brush with his style of music, called Rabindra Sangeet. And even today, most of his songs are relevant, and his compositions are fresh and used, even though there's fusion and modern versions.
I wanted to share a story here. I will never forget one Bengali song ever as it was my first time hearing a Bengali song and it blew my mind. That song was "tumi ami kachakachi", Ek Jibon song. It was 11 years ago and a trending song back then. I was a college going girl. At that time we didn't have smartphones like today and one day a friend's phone had this ringtone. I immediately searched for this song and downloaded it and it has been on my favourite playlist since then. What a beautiful song that is and the story played for this song is great. After this I fell in love with Bengali music. They said that right Bengali is really the sweetest language. Efra and Waleshka should check this song.
Being a Bengali, I am proud of my rich cultural heritage ❤️ Bengalis are considered one of the sharpest minds , the land of Rabindranath Tagore, Literature and maa Durga🔱. Nari shakti or women empowerment is in the heart of our culture. Proud bengali
The reason you see the mix of western instruments and Indian classical in bengali songs is because.. Bengali songs and literature has various versions.. from Sanskritised bengali.. which is Indian National Anthem.. folk like Baul…. Brajabuli which is more of Vaishnav Bhakti songs.. Rabindra sangeet.. who is called the Bard of Bengali.. first non European nobel laureate and composer of India’s and Bangladesh’s national anthem, then kolkata saw Jazz and blues and cabarets as an influence from British and French occupation as well highland music from Scottish… then there is series of patriotic songs as part of Indian independence movement and later post independence there was a rock and band revolution… also.. the movies contributed a lot. At one time bengali songs were remade in Bollywood e.g: Salil Choudhury films.. and Hrishikesh Mukherjee films in Hindi…. Also another bengali cinema from Ray contributed classical to movies.. Ravi Shankar composed for his movies.. Kolkata has a famous Indian Classical concert called Dover Lane Music Conference. Also, Bishnupur in West Bengal has a Classical Gharana that is a branch of Hindustani classical music.. and lyrics wise the literature compliments as bengali literature is very well appreciated not only in India but in other cultures. Even baul later had a Portuguese influence.. bengal was so rich that almost every European power had colonised parts of it.. Danish, Scots, Portuguese, Brits, Dutch, French and had seen Armenian, Greek, Turkish, Chinese traders… Historically the land had trade ties with Roman Empire.
Bangla (West Bengal, not Bangladesh) are most underrated film industry..Even they recieved first Indian Oscar and legend movies like Devdas, Patthher panchali, All Byomkesh Bakshi starring Abir
I think Bengali music has that sweetness (that comes along with the language) and delicate touch which other music industry kinda lack upon. Simple but so melodious.. invokes your emotions, makes you vulnerable with your senses.... Both of you siblings are so awesome and entertaining, awesome video. I hope you'd cover more on Bengali songs, especially Rabindra sangeet and folk genres of Bengal
22:24 That is exactly what is keeping West Bengali Music Industry afloat where merit of the artist is still the appealing factor for the artist's concert .
In English some of the lyrics might sound simple and just rhyming but in bengali , these words when used artistically , produce a completely unique song and tone while giving off an aura of emotions , able to reach every kind of music loving person 😁😀......pardon me if I am wrong..that's just my personal opinion🙏😌
OMG that was unexpected, love you guys so much, lots of love from West Bengal , India 🙋. There are many famous music band in West Bengal. And you look so cute when you try to speak Bengali, you catch it so quickly 🤗.

Really proud to be a bengali. West Bengal, rightly the cultural capital of India. Very rich musical heritage, we Bengalis take pride in our music. To really understand the music, you need to be a part of the musical culture of West Bengal.
Thank you guys for the wonderful podcast. Also thanks for including " Asatoma Sadgamaya" which i once had requested to play in live stream and you guys played it at the last.
I am not bengali and i love this video it introduces me to bengali music i heard only some bengali or 1 or 2 bengali songs but i love them . And the western influences here is more prominant coz kolkata (calcutta) was a british capital in earlier days due its nearness to ports .
There is no western influence in Bengali song...how many bengali songs did you listen till date...there is so many varieties or types of song here in bengal you will find.... it's all our own...
Anupam is actually the music director of the 3rd song. The singer is Rupam Islam, a great of Bengali rock scene. Anupam himself is a great singer as well.
Its 2023 December 26th. I took a leave from office. I am almost 31 now. This entire podcast was like my teenage wrapped in a one piece. College, then my years in theater. Reminded me of everything. I had such a blast. Loved to watch you guys love the songs that are so close to my heart. I love 'Bojhena', 'preme pora baron', 'asadoma satgamayaha', 'majhe majhe tobo'-but this version was a first for me. It was divine to watch you guys enjoy each one of these songs. Efra with his learning Hindi and now Bengali is so entertaining and endearing. So wholesome (even with all the swearing 😉) I've had so much to say but it escapes me now. Oh yes.... Majhe majhe was not made for this music video. It was written and composed by the pride of India - Gurudeb Rabindranath Tagore, Asia's first Nobel laureate. His compositions were chosen as India's , and Bangladesh's national anthems. His songs are lyrically, and musically so rich, we have a separate genre of music called Rabindra-Sangeet. You should check out some of them. Also out of the more modern songs, I would have loved to see you react to 'Kichhu Kichhu kotha' -by Arijeet and Kaushiki Chakroborty (the name that was eluding you in the vid) and 'Tomake' from Parineeta by Shreya.
it's always makes me emotional seeing your reactions on indian music.. I don't know why but your reactions always just go through my heart. Thank you for reveling the mystery of Indian Musics. I'm really surprised that you haven’t acquainted with Rabindra Sangeet yet! Tagore songs are like therapy to any bengali. It's a name of emotion to whole Bengali spoken community of East+West; even to non-bengalis too.
...also I'd recommend you to watch the studio version of 'Jao Pakhi Bolo' too. The live one is beautiful but the original is a whole different mood. I can almost feel the cool rain drenched breeze caressing me. The 'taan'( I'm not sure what else to call it) that Shreya took here and that you loved are actually done by a male vocalist in the original. You won't be disappointed. Go for it.

Please react to Nina Burmi-Thumri. Northeastern and Eastern languages like Bengali and Odia sound more like Tagalog or Japanese because they convert V's to B and A's to O's for most of the words and you guys would be surprised to know that there are Mongoloid looking people in the Northeastern part of India..They have their own cultures and are very diverse and their languages sound like Thai/Tagalog/Vietnamese/Burmese etc

By the way I AM NOT BENGALI but I can talk about the industry and culture of Bengalis a little as my Mom is Bengali. -Bojhena se bojhena means he/she doesn't understand. There's no affairs, it's just two different worlds colliding for accident. And in these 2 couples one loses the girl and the other loses the guy. -Jao Pakhi bolo is one of the sweetest song to hear at your alone time. Just let it rain outside, play the song and just get lost in dreams. The studio version is also really sweet. -#LiveSinging is always a Big Thing in the Indian Music Industry. Your Calibre is judged through your live singing. -Third one who was singing Benche Thakar Gaan is actually RUPAM ISLAM... His songs are mostly soft rock genre and all of his songs are ABSOLUTE DOPES... For if you guys wanna hear Anupam Roy voice check out songs like BOBA TUNNEL, JAWL PHORING or EKHON ONEK RAAT -Preme Pora Baron is from the movie Sweater which is one of my most favourite. This movie is about a girl finding her self confidence and yes how she become confident and vocal about her wishes. Lognojita has one of the most distinct voice in Bengali industry. Her songs just pierce your heart. Preme Pora Baron just hits home for me as I have always been single and I got rejected many times from guys from my teenage... So even if I feel attracted this song just plays in my mind. Btw Preme Pora Baron means Don't fall in Love -There's very few Chinese population in India, but it's established in West Bengal Tangra region. They came up with the mixture of IndoChinese cuisine which just exploded and became one of the most favourite cuisine all over India and now making its ways overseas. For example dishes like Chilli Fish( my fav), gobhi Manchurian etc. -Music Industry of Mumbai was once ruled by Bengalis especially Bollywood when the composers like SD Burman or RD Burman was there. And in that time every song sang in Hindi was also recorded in Bengali. If you hear songs of Uttam Kumar ( A big movie star of Bengal ) movies. Most songs will feel genuinely very modern and western. Also Piano used to play a big part too in songs hence you guys would love old Bengali Songs I can guarantee that. Especially songs like AARO DURE CHOLO JAAYI(Asha Bhosle) or EI TO JIBON( Kishore Kumar) or TUMI JE AMAR Special mention to TUMI KOTO JE DURE ( by Husband wife duo...Rd Burman composition and Asha Bhosle voice...it's a song one should not miss in my opinion) -Sundori Komola is a Folk song, Bengalis have Baul, Kirtan, Shyama Sangeet, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti and different genres. These songs of folk include the basic instruments of folk like Ektara or Dotara( this instrument is also mentioned in the song). Baul singing has a very wide range and the high range bar is too high. Music of Bengal is Broad, it includes different place to dive in. Songs like TOMAR GHORE BOSOT KORE KOZONA and AAGE KI SUNDOR DIN KATAITAAM are classics of folk songs. -The second last song is from movie KHAAD one of my most fav song. Arijit has too many good Bengali songs but this is one of the most beautiful song that takes every one to heaven. Other Arijit Recommendation: MON MAAJHI RE, KE TUI BOL, BISMILLAH. - The last one is a RABINDRA SANGEET, a man who is loved by Bengalis. This version of lyrics is changed and arranged a little. Rabindra Sangeet is something which just compliments a lot with Piano. You guys should check out GEETANJALI for the poems. He was the first Indian to become Nobel Laureate. He was such an intelligent man that he could see things from different perspectives and put light to things in such a way that no one had thought before. His popular compositions are AMARO PORANO JAHA CHAI, DARIYE AACHO, HIMERO RAATE. And he got songs for kids too like PAGLA HAOWA, AAMRA SOBAI RAJA. He is the epitome of how a MAN can become a symbol of a COMMUNITY. If you are Bengali you ought to know RABINDRA SANGEET. That's his value in Bengali households. Special mention: Please check out Shyama Sangeet, Kirtan, Folk, Semi Classicals, Artists like: Manna De, Shyamal Mitra, Haimonti Shukla( She has one of the most Sweetest Voice I ever heard), Bands like Cactus, Fossils; Aarti Mukerji, Nachiketa (He Just makes songs on reality and gives goosebumps). At the end: ASATO MAA SAD GAMAYA( Lead me from the Untruth to the Truth) TAMASO MAA JYOTIR GAMAYA( Lead me from Darkness to Light) MRITYUR MAA AMRITAM GAMAYA( Lead me from Death to Immortality) OM SHAANTI SHAANTI SHAANTI ( Om peace peace peace) One of the most prominent Mantra taught and chanted in our home, thanks to my mom. Also not just song but food also differs a lot. Bengali are called MACHE BHAATE BANGALI ( Fish + Rice = Bengali). They know how to cook Fish best and yes I may not be a Bengali but when you have a mom you got to love the culture.

"Tamaso mā jyotir gamaya" means "From darkness, lead me to light" It is from the Shanthi Mantra from The Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upanishad which is one of the older, "primary" (mukhya) Upanishads. The full Mantra and the meaning in English is "Aum Asato mā sad gamaya Tamaso mā jyotir gamaya Mṛtyormā amṛtam gamaya Aum śānti śānti śāntiḥ " (Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upaniṣad 1.3.28) meaning of which is - "From ignorance, lead me to truth; From darkness, lead me to light; From death, lead me to immortality Aum peace, peace, peace " -

Shaan is not from West Bengal. He is from Mumbai but yes he comes from a bengali family
I like Arijit too. I like the Ami Parbona title song, Aashona, and Na Re Na. The list could go on, but yes.
Thanks for the comment, saves me from writing it down myself 😂🙏
Yup
I had the same comment in my mind. Good job👏
U didn't mention about our Nation Anthem. Shame on u.
He had also received Knighthood, but returned it as a political protest against the British Govt in India
Calcutta (which is now called Kolkata) was the capital of British India till 1911.
Bangla lives in every beats of our heart❤️love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩

Sunidhi chauhan is not Bengali but she sang rabindra sangeet once in her concert and she sang it like a pro .. she is just LEGEND ❤️🔥 .. most incredible singer ❤️
She has many bengali songs and has performed bengali songs in many concerts too
But maximum Indian singers are Bengalis.
she sang many rabindra sangeets..and also recorded album of rabindra sangeet
Yes right ..she is incredibly talented and the most versatile..
@@Life_Way_Wanderer
Sunidhi is very good singer, but Shreya is better, Sunidhi sings rock patterns of songs very well. Indian singers means from Bengal Punjab & South.
Just for analogy and understanding the dynamics of most popular languages in India, it's like:
I do not care how accurate this analogy is, but its a fun to read analogy.
Haan maan sakte hai😃
Weird analogy
I kind of agree 😂
I agree
Actually they are from goa.💖
@@jyoshnabhandary5897 yes but they spent their life here, so as per you because they were Konkani, entire Konkan should merge with Goa?
Lata mangeshkar and asha bhosle are from maharashtra. They both are real sisters. Their whole family belongs to music industry.
She was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
Efra cracks me up.
Love from West Bengal . Bengali language is very sweet to listen ❤️❤️
Thik bolecho
That's true 🙂
OMGGGG THIS MAKES ME SO PROUD AS A BENGALI! Thank you!
I'm proud to be a Bengali too.
Khnoro Amar Fossils... Anuvober michil...
Aha.. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Shreya Ghoshal's Bengali songs are one of her best songs in her career
I find her songs in all languages beautiful. Munbe Va (tamil) is my favorite tho.
she is a bengali herself !
Exactly.. I also written this in comment.. That was golden era of bengali movies.. And there are some best songs of lata ji and asha ji..
Are you Odia??? Just asking...
Ekjibone is a masterpiece. I think Shubhamita sang it.
The one by Arijit? I know a song like that.
Being a Bengali, I am proud of my rich cultural heritage ❤️
Bengalis are considered one of the sharpest minds , the land of Rabindranath Tagore, Literature and maa Durga🔱.
Being a Bengali and seeing you two heaaaaaarrrrrrrrrr these, warms my heart.
Bangla (West Bengal, not Bangladesh) are most underrated film industry..Even they recieved first Indian Oscar and legend movies like Devdas, Patthher panchali, All Byomkesh Bakshi starring Abir
Bangladesh is part of Bengal shuorer baccha.
Good observation
that bojhena shey bojhena movie is sooo beautiful and HEARTBREAKING at the same time
22:24 That is exactly what is keeping West Bengali Music Industry afloat where merit of the artist is still the appealing factor for the artist's concert .

Lata Mangeshkar is Marathi but she and her sister Asha Bhosle were very close to our culture and they have sang numerous Bengali songs.

So wholesome (even with all the swearing 😉)
I've had so much to say but it escapes me now.
Also out of the more modern songs, I would have loved to see you react to
'Kichhu Kichhu kotha' -by Arijeet and Kaushiki Chakroborty (the name that was eluding you in the vid)
and 'Tomake' from Parineeta by Shreya.

For if you guys wanna hear Anupam Roy voice check out songs like BOBA TUNNEL, JAWL PHORING or EKHON ONEK RAAT
-Preme Pora Baron is from the movie Sweater which is one of my most favourite. Btw Preme Pora Baron means Don't fall in Love
-There's very few Chinese population in India, but it's established in West Bengal Tangra region.
Especially songs like AARO DURE CHOLO JAAYI(Asha Bhosle) or EI TO JIBON( Kishore Kumar) or TUMI JE AMAR
Special mention to TUMI KOTO JE DURE ( by Husband wife duo...Rd Burman composition and Asha Bhosle voice...it's a song one should not miss in my opinion)
-Sundori Komola is a Folk song, Bengalis have Baul, Kirtan, Shyama Sangeet, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti and different genres.
At the end:
ASATO MAA SAD GAMAYA( Lead me from the Untruth to the Truth)
TAMASO MAA JYOTIR GAMAYA( Lead me from Darkness to Light)
MRITYUR MAA AMRITAM GAMAYA( Lead me from Death to Immortality)
OM SHAANTI SHAANTI SHAANTI ( Om peace peace peace)
One of the most prominent Mantra taught and chanted in our home, thanks to my mom.
Also not just song but food also differs a lot. Bengali are called MACHE BHAATE BANGALI ( Fish + Rice = Bengali). They know how to cook Fish best and yes I may not be a Bengali but when you have a mom you got to love the culture.
You have explained everything beautifully
OMG!!!!! your 'non-bengali'-ness just blew me away!!!! 🤩

Thanks for checking other music industries of India...Really enjoyed this one even though I am not Bengali (always love Bengali culture, music and literature)...I hope you also get to experience some of the magic of music in 'malayalam'...was very disappointed with that compilation of songs in south you reacted to lately (it wasn't your fault) as it didn't have any quality songs...I would be very happy to provide you with some of the suggestions if you need (Some of the big names in Indian music industry like KJ Yesudas, KS Chitra come from Malayalam and I don't think you have heard them enough)
This might be my most favourite video from you guys ever.. and I have loved so many of them.
I've loved the Ghar More Pardesia- particularly wale's gushing over Varun Dhavan😊, I've loved your first foray into Indian music with Arijit's medley, and Shreya's Rozana, and the Mame Khan's Coke Studio rendition of Chaudhary.
Then I have loved Laal ishq, and Aayat reactions, the Berklee A R Rahman's Kun Faya reaction.... oh there are so many, but this one trumps them all.
Lata & Asha are from Maharashtra...you missed the legends Manna Dey, Hemanta Kumar. Hemant kumar sang and composed great songs sung by Lata, Kishore. Then Salil Choudhury is there..Bappi Lahiri..SD Barman(cultural Bengali, but actually Tripuri).
"Tamaso mā jyotir gamaya" means "From darkness, lead me to light"
It is from the Shanthi Mantra from The Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upanishad which is one of the older, "primary" (mukhya) Upanishads. The full Mantra and the meaning in English is
"Aum Asato mā sad gamaya
Tamaso mā jyotir gamaya
Mṛtyormā amṛtam gamaya
Aum śānti śānti śāntiḥ " (Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upaniṣad 1.3.28)
meaning of which is -
"From ignorance, lead me to truth;
From darkness, lead me to light;
From death, lead me to immortality
Aum peace, peace, peace " -
The plot of Barfi is located in west bengal it's Darjeeling (the hill station) and Kolkata
Hi this is Arindam from Kolkata, West Bengal. Another shade of Bengali music is Bangla Rock music. Rupam islam is basically belongs to that community. He is Vocalist and lyricist of the Rock band FOSSILS. West Bengal has a very rich history of band music. It starts back in 70s. Must explore the Rock and metal culture of West Bengal. Because Bengali music is just incomplete without Bangla bands. If you need any more information about it please let me know.
Guys... You missed a gem "Kichhu Kichhu Kotha..." by Arjit Singh & Kaushiki. Do react to it plz.
Barfi was shot mostly in Darjeeling and other parts of West Bengal. Darjeeling is a district in the state of West Bengal.
