And then Duo Robin could curb stomp Ike Also I use my Emblem Marth all the time, and he can still keep up. Him and Attuned Caeda are terrifying together
how does a defensive EP unit outclass an offensive PP unit??? also Marth is better and has a significantly longer shelf life than Ike simply because his Engage effect is better lmao
Dire Thunder+ If unit initiates combat, unit attacks 10 times. Specials can be triggered multiple times during these attacks. Enemy cannot counter attack. A unit with this skill gains the "mold breaker" ability for them and any allies within 6 spaces. Mold Breaker: allows a male unit to be a Pegasus rider. Until the start of the next player phase, this unit is considered a flying movement type, and gains +4 move and "Canto4++" Canto4++: after combat, unit moves up to 7 spaces. Unit inflicts 5 damage to foes within 2 spaces for each space moved.
This topic right here is why I quit FEH about a month ago some time before the Ice Banner dropped. I had noticed for awhile that even new units most of the time could hardly last 3 months save a few niche exceptions when the premiums used to last a lot longer and just how much the powercreep was rapidly accelerating. Glad to see more light being shed on the issue!
At least units are coming with support and that support helps them stay relevent. Like Michiah, even after her combat ages, she will still provide amazing support. Or the newest unit, Ninja Lucina, her support is so insane, I can't imagine her getting powercreeped
As an unlucky free to play who doesn't have a single emblem despite investing enough orbs to reach spark, keeping up with the meta is impossible and it's miserable since what few tools I do have just fail now and there's nothing I can do about it in alot of scenarios - and that's if you talk about pulling for the meta I don't have the resources to pull on good units let alone characters I actually like or care about It's really off putting and the worse part is it snowballs, you don't get the unit from a banner, meaning you don't have pulls left over since you probably pulled until the banner ran out, meaning you miss the next banner and probably the banner after that regardless Since there's no spark without feh pass quite literally the only way to get a unit is to "get lucky" which can result in needing to spend far more than usual and still result in the not getting said unit. Let me reaffirm, it's miserable.
Just stop pulling. For a whole year! You don't need the latest hero, they will fall off before you can even use them. Save a thousand or so orbs and go all in for a character you like.
Dude, that's one thing I don't like about what they've done. IMO *Emblem units should have been free 2 play accessible not pay2win/luck-locked* . Because no matter if the emblem unit gets powercrept or not, the emblem effect will "always" come out useful to a specific unit of your choice (no matter if it's your most invested & favorite unit, or the new shiny one that just drop out). From my POV, making them to appear in the Mythic/Legendary banner "only" was a really poor choice they made back then at the beginning of the year with E!Marth release. The same as rearmed, attuned, seasonals, mythic or legendary units they aren't added to the "normal pool" either so they are fairly "rare" to get (and it's even worse since you can't even try to get one every month as they are extremely exclusive) To me at least, E! heroes doesn't make sense to be so limited-time + luck restricted and they should have been introduced permanently in some way or another. Like for instance, with the introduction of a shop, or challenges inside the game, etc... They should have been like a much needed breath of fresh air into the game and not like FOMO units if you get what I mean...
What I also see as a major problem is that they haven't increased the amount of orbs in this game proportionally to the current demand of "meta" heroes and OP skills. Rn there are too many types of heroes in this game and sadly they haven't made them easier to get or, as I said, increase the orbs that you regularly get + the ones they give on specific celebrations. Lately, *you "need" more units from different banners* (mythic, legendary, emblem, rearmed, attuned, seasonals, and also your favorites) and more insane skills, like LF, *than ever before* so it's nearly impossible to keep up with the game in a fairly good way as they keep at this crazy pace 😅
This is why I gave up on playing anything PVP related around 6 months after FEdel released. I only pull for my favorites or just get fodder whenever I want to flex my "Sunk Cost Fallacy" type of characters. I've been much happier knowing I'm not suffering through the weird ping pong game of nukes vs tanks
@ALEXMARTINEZ-dz7so if anything, you can argue they have decreased the amount of orbs since we didn't get as much orbs on the anniversary and instead got tickets to mid/bad units
Like Attuned Erika? Yes and is so quick, that I genuinely don't care anymore about arena: "Oohh, if you don't have this units you will fucking suck, haha"
Arena's such a sh*t show now, honestly. Literally every unit's jumping everywhere. Oath was pretty easy to keep track of, L!Elincia is a bit more chaotic but you can still expect how the AI will play her. But now on top of that you have to keep track of Celica's Emblem and Shez having a free pass everywhere ? The worst part is probably that so many maps have those corridors, breakable walls, mountains, lakes, etc., so originally force you to strategise around but those new units make it so you literally ignore all of that strat part of the game and just brute force in by crossing the map in one turn.
Remember when Robin was such a menace, they literally made a Ploy skill SPECIFICALLY described to shut off his "Grand Strategy"? And "Triangle Attack" specifically targeting bridal Catria for good measure while they were at it. That felt so personal lol.
It's funny, the only thing we know will last a month for sure anymore are the dancers, because they innately do not directly compete with over 90% of the game
Funny how you mention a hypothetical Emblem Byleth having an AoE/Dance Ring effect right before they announce Emblem Sigurd, who has AoE and self-dancing (even if it is his skills and not the ring effect)
About your bit on Seer's Snare, what you said is really good, we need more of that mode like being a permanent weekly thing But even this mode caught up to powercreep. That Last map on the last Seer's Snare was absolute horseshit, having the last flavor of powercreep all over it made it impossible to play because of the lack of good enough PoR unit. Attuned Micaiah destroyed everything. Even with top tier skills and refined Heroes, even Gatrie who got refined like, 1 month ago (?) I wasn't able to pass that map nor my friends did. Even at the red difficulty. Even Seer's Snare is becoming unplayable and that's no good...
Oh my GOSH, I’m so glad to know I wasn’t the only one damn near crying while trying to deal with that map. Attuned Eirika so you can’t whittle her down? Attuned Micaiah to warp Elise and Sakura? Legendary Tiki do you can’t use two range? I only got lucky because I had Priam, F!Robin, M!Morgan, and Nah. My original team (Silas, non-Legendary Kinshi Hinoka, Elice, and Benny) didn’t stand a chance.
I personally didn't have trouble on the red version of that map (lunatic was cancer tho) but that's probably because i have a heavily invested brave Dimitri Byleth and Felix. Felix carries.
Harmonic Altina and Lance Lucia easily took care of the last Seers Snare but you don’t have to use game matching units. Just use your stronger units if you are struggling. The extra stats and row of skills don’t help that much.
@@hpulleyiv Harmonic Altina helped a lot on lunatic. After my first run. Didnt get good enough skills to kill THE GREEN AXE UNIT. Ya know, Finish skills, Bol4, SS4, and more, she was stacked. I had to chip her down with aoe dmg the second time around. She just refused to die. I immediately stopped playing after I cleared it on Lunatic.
Even with L!Elincia being bonus this week and having her pretty highly invested on my part she is missing kills all over the place on many of these new units. It's a lot.
this game has come to a point to me that i don’t even like summoning anymore cause ik this new shiny unit that’s currently released will prolly be power crept by the next month or so. it always just feels like the game says, heres this new broken unit but don’t worry it’ll be power crept in the next month or so your unit will only be strong for a limited time. also feels bad that the new units usually obliterate everything making not even reading skills or stats anymore that necessary when yk that the new units kill almost everything. i just play the game now to invest into favorites and enjoy seeing the art of new characters being released.
Friend, I haven't been reading the skills of enemy units for years at this point. I typically throw my units at the enemy to see what happens, and only really go back to decipher the bullisht when I can't decide what the gimmick is after 3-5 encounters
Learn to pull, pull who you like and then think what would benefit them or their team the most. I use a far save Winter Marth team so I have no real use for say, Attuned Timerra, so why should I pull her?
I thought there was a dancer or two on the banner? Dancers are always a nice thing to have, even the worst dancers are still a second version of the modern cracked OP unit
@@annieme-tions I wish they'd pump the breaks on the power creep a bit, or at least buff old heroes more with the refines so they can keep up better Maybe we should be getting second refines for some first and second generation units
@@baxterbruce9827 Refines need to be more frequent. Powercreep definitely needs to slow down. And we need easier access to newer skills, hell even skills from last year are still hard to come by.
@@annieme-tions My genuine suggestion for refines? Make them more often or add a cycle of second refines for REALLY old units while continuing the current schedule As for everything else? It'd be nice to at least have every skill at 2 or 3 in 4 star pools, it wouldn't solve EVERY problem, but it would solve some problems with units like Attuned Timerra where there's literally 13 slots worth of extremely desirable inheritance
Problem is if you slow down on the powercreep, people are gonna call the unit worthless, disappointing and not worth using. The sweet spot is either really hard to find or has been gone for a while
True! but they brought that on themselves... Had they not release broken trash like for example FEdel back in the day, or CheapBlem Ike nowadays, peoples perception of what unit is good or bad wouldnt be so distorted... So at this point I just play the game to watch their downfall from the 1st row...
I remember when fallen edelgard was the meta. Everything revolved around her, we got legendary byleth as a direct counter, but he wasn't the only one case in point refined boey with triangle adept could take her super well. And edelgard continued to dominate for the next year even after the "replacement" in fallen rhea came out you could still wipe to edelgard very easily if you weren't careful.
No new unit has gone on such a reign of terror for so long. And I miss that. To me gen 5 to 6 is when the game was the healthiest. The damage reduction wasn't crazy and could be bypassed by select units, and there were easier counter builds as opposed to a whole unit. Now I struggle to beat brave felix on his own map because my super powerful units that are really good just don't measure up. And felix just runs in with his stupid movement and halving of my damage reduction and demolished me. That's what does it to me, him breaking through my reduction like butter. It's been handed out too liberally. You can't keep giving us skills to reduce damage by a percentage and then also hand out DR piercing to every unit. There has to be a balance
The desire to build up older units will keep going down while the dragonflower caps keep rising on top of its price. Got a cool seasonal unit from many years ago? Cool. Spend THOUSANDS of dragonflowers on them just to make their stats better! Seriously, we are up the point where old units need +7 to all of their stats with flowers now with the cap at 35. And IS' reaction was to demand that we get MERGES on newer special units for a small amount more of these flowers. This is getting absurd.
I've been happier with the game since I've stopped trying to go crazy in Aether Raids and Arena. The gane isn't worth the effort for like, 1 extra orb and 1,000 extra feathers every week
A good way to illustrate this is i used to wait for DSH banners to get a better share, if i do that nowadays the unit im pulling for is already not great
Could fan servers make things free? I would totally play again if I could get all the orbs I want for free and summon on any banner until I build my perfect teams.
No it's possible sides maybe the Fan server could bring some things like weapon evolution so that way the older characters can have access to the busted new versions of their weapon hell, maybe allow a way to transfer preference specials or skills to other versions of that unit unless the alt is a Healer
It feels to me like powercreep has reached the level of generation nine Pokemon in a fraction of the time. Approximately the same amount of generations, Approximately the same buildup of how the game functions and how new mechanics and interactions have occurred in time. However, there's been a couple years in between each Pokémon generation and this game is ongoing. We're getting close to book 9 and it feels so absurd how there are so many units who simply cannot compete because they don't have the stats and skills they need or can reliably acquire to keep pace with how busted some of these newer characters are. I think it's coming to a head, and I think it's going to become within the next 2 years. Anyone who's not a whale is going to give up. We're going to Witness an incredibly powerful new unit debut and the very next banner it becomes obsolete. I've loved this game for years. I was there day one, but I cannot enjoy it any further. It's just too much. I was able to last a while by making stacking field effects teams that provided a wide range of buffs but now even that isnt enough.
Am I the only one who doesn't feel this "I can't keep up" problem? Like, I'm not going to deny that the powercreep has been insane the past year, but I've played the game less the last 6 months, mostly just to play the story chapters, I was expecting to eventually drop the game as I was like "eventually my units will be like toddlers on D-Day and my orbs will be so few that I won't get new units", yet I haven't had much issues with either, maybe because I don't try to get high into modes like Arena and AR, but every time I do play them I fight new unit after new unit and I just...deal with them using my favs, Brave Eliwood and Gatekeeper mixed with some newer units I've got or with refined units (think stuff like Gerik or Seteth), and I haven't even given them the best of skills (the most extravagant stuff my Eliwood has is Gambit from last year, while my Gerik just has Ascended Ced's kit because I got a spare copy), mostly just things off some extra units I don't like/feel like using, and I do fine, the only real troublesome unit for me is Brave Felix, but well, everyone has problems fighting him lol, and for summoning I've been staying at +70 Orbs most of the time so whenever I want to go hard on a banner I can easily rack up more orbs and go all in, heck, I recently went and sparked twice on the recent CYL banner and I'm already back to 100 Orbs after that, maybe people spend Orbs too fast? Saving up is always good, people. As for Emblems and "Not getting them being very detrimental", I only got Emblem Marth and mostly forget I have him 😅, didn't get Ike or Celica and I don't feel like I'm handicapped because of it, sure, it'd be cool to have them, but I don't really suffer by not having them (or by forgetting to use Marth 😅) Maybe the reason why I don't feel like I'm being left behind is because I don't actively try to stay high on the AR/Arena ladders, instead I just play those modes (mostly just Arena) with my favorites or units I like regardless of scoring (like how I just keep using Eitri even if it's not fire season lol.)
I have play for only 3 months, join for the chaos and use units that you would never see in a main FE game. And that's exactly what i got As a free to player, you have to know your priorities, i focus mine on units with high movement or enable high movement, and so i'm looking forward to the new Emblem banner. Is nice to know that i'm not the only newcomer and not the only one that has enjoy his time with the game so far. Good luck with your summons.
I've been playing this game for a little over a year, so I'm still somewhat new. And I agree; my goal is to build a functional Marth Emblem. I'm in Arena Tier 18 or 19 most weeks, in 21 in Aether Raids, and don't bother with Summoner Duels. I enjoy my time in the game, even if it's ridiculously stupid 50% of the time.
Well, yeah, if you don't play PvP you don't feel it since you're not facing those units on a daily basis. It's not like PvE has as much of a powercreep. But for people who do play PvP half-seriously or who just want to try their best, the powercreep is real, and it reaches a point where you cannot do anything unless you have the latest top tier unit (which will fall off super quickly anyway.) I've always been in Arena Tier 20-21 (20 when I don't have a Legendary or good bonus unit), this week, for the first time, I'll go back down to T19 because all I got is Ice Nils and all the teams I'm facing are monsters. You think the PvE Brave Felix is bad ? Try facing +10 E!Ike and +10 B!Felix in one same team in Arena or Aether Raids on the regular :P I build my Arena Team with good scoring Grail units and it's always worked well, but I guess it's reaching its end.
Even if you don't play arena or aether raids, even normal content becomes out of reach for old units. Try to beat latest story nodes on nightmare with units that are 2+ years old. You may find a way, if you have a well build team and think a lot. Meanwhile, I send my Winter Dimitri out, and he solos the entire map with vantage. Or send Felix who has cavalry movement and counts as 3 units at once When all my efforts to create a team are invalidated due to few shiny, new units, I don't get the pleasure from team building, and this game offers nothing aside from that. I found my way - I just create a separate skill set "lorewise" I call them, but having to handicap my own units to not make them solo the game is not fun. And some units are OP even with just their unique weapon.
Nothing feels as bad as getting your favorite to +10 on their 5th rerun only to realize you need to give it an arcane weapon and echo skill because their pref stuff got power crept into generic then get hit with reality when generics themselves got power crept so they end up in reserve box #4
I remember back in the days my basic red mage Tharja with an AoE special was such a beast. I used her for the longest time, she was one of my best units. She was quick, had high attack and was really tanky, now her stats are ridiculously low compared to the new units. And back then my Young Lyon not only tanked Fallen Edelgard but also killed her. I haven't used him in almost a year now, he used to never leave my teams ;_; Maybe his refine will save him but I doubt it. New units get waaaaay too many effects for old units to compete.
Summoner Duels has been awful for the game. Sure the power creep was getting bad before it was implemented but now every limited unit is being designed around it. Legendary and Mythical units in particular have gone from mostly average to overtuned. Fallen Edelgard really was the patient zero for the current power creep problem. Ever since it has gotten worse and worse. Units used to be a problem for maybe a year or a bit more but now a unit can be outdated within 2 or 3 weeks. What's the point in summoning when the unit will be outdated by the next month's batch of bs power creep outside of just summoning your favorite character or if you think a seasonal character is hot?
Fallen Edelgard created the problem of “Let’s make every consecutive Edelgard unit like her” and it’s been detrimental ever since. Though I’d say that pre-combat damage introduced was also ground zero for this power creep.
@TheChildofAuraReborn None of the other Edelgards are like her, though lmao. All future Edelgards have followed Legendary Edelgard's offensive Galeforce nuke design.
I played often until the end of book 5, then I took a break until a this summer. My favorite is Felicia. I think I got to the point where I can’t use my favorite anymore 😐
There's no safe investment. Who knows when Shield Fighter will be powercreepted? Fogado was the first try in weeks. A new Axe Lucia? Really, it's hard to keep up.
The thing is with all the new types of heros, yeah they’re *technically* high value, but that also means all of them are really high priority, and they don’t release the best new skills on them either. They usually release the good skills on units that you have to burn for fodder, and sometimes they’re also really good units. The emblem unit skills are good examples, there’s not normal pool units that have them and you can’t fodder your first emblem unit without losing the ring, so really you need 2 of them to fodder the skill, and their skills are pretty incredible. So you need to pull on new unit banners, but also for the units they actually give the valuable skills to, which basically means every banner.
My favorite thing is that I waited for legendary male corrin for so long just to see him get demolished like a month later by units like attuned micaiah which was really cool then later with legendary male shez and duo fjorm not long after Dang I'm really happy it happened twice
I honestly think I’m done. The power creep is too high, Duo Fjorm lasted a month before getting power crept by the duo dragons. I picked up this game 3 years ago and remember units lasting way longer, now it’s to the point where most units from 2 years ago can’t even damage new characters without maximum investment, and even then, monsters like Emblem Ike and Erk will wipe the floor with them. I’m not even FTP, but I also am not willing to drop $1000 to +10 the new Emblem character every 3 months (I do not have a single Emblem above +1) and I see other teams with +10 emblems constantly.
I see two things. First the rise to +14 stat was a huge mistake. It completely removed the use of older units. Arcanes? Pointless, they only give +5. Forma? Well if they don't have a great refine hard pass. Old Legendaries? Eh gamble season. And then you have things like Ike, Goat and Micaiah that just have humongous amount of effects. Seriously, why does Ike need to pulse down everyone on top of all he does? Just so any defense that actively relies on hitting with two nukes is bad by default? Why does Micaiah need to have Guidance on top of removing a debuff and applying huge stat swings? Why does the Goat even have Fatal Smoke? Just to counter itself? But then the Solm banner came. And I see a better future. Solm brings new things. A blue unit that can easily be countered by a single scowl and guard or by a Lance Breaker (it needs Null Follow Up support, which you can cancel). A green unit that nullifies the Special heavy meta, but has no Tempo effect to be able to trigger specials themselves. That's the slow forming of a triangle, which is the right way to balance a gacha. Just like the colors, A will counter B, B will counter C, and C counter A. This brings back some bit of strategy to the game. You have to wiggle around and know what can deal with what and make use of that information. And yeah, Speed matters so much for a few units, but when hasn't it been? I played Fallen Byleth non stop till they hard countered with the +14 stat change. You can play around with the right support. As long as you don't face a +10 merged, Aided, +10 ringed Lucia, that is.
Ive played 5 times since duo fjorm. I'm not having fun, I don't want to play so I'm not. I switch to sword of convallaria and it's scratching that itch. This current Feh is really pay to win and the meta changes every week with the new incredibly powerful unit coming out the next week. A bit issue is that thing are progressing in too big of steps. BoL4 was waaaaay too OP, same with LF4. No reason to have skills that insane and broken. If they started with LF3 and BoL4 was tamed and emblem rings were just not so OP it would greatly benefit the game. But they don't care
All of the resource based unit types and the feeling of a lack of things to look forward to are the two driving forces that made me finally quit earlier this year. With the meta evolving so quickly, it felt like the game was deciding which banners and units to invest in for Mr. And it just felt like my account and progression got so much less personal.
The game truly became unfun, mainly cuz everything feels pointless. Why bother summoning the meta when i'tll get irrelevant the next month? Why bother investing in old 4* shitters when they'll never have enough dragonflowers or meta tools? Why bother reading skills when i can't even remember all of them or what they do or how i'tll affect the outcome of a matchup? Why bother with the weapon triangle when the newest toys just deletes everything no matter what?.. Why even fuckin bother...
Even with everything aging faster than ever, we still only receive 300 orbs a month. It should be at least 500 at this point. When people think pulling is not worth it due to summoning currency vs speed of power creep, a gacha dies fast
While I like emblems and the extra effects they bring to the table I’ve only been able to get all three of them to +2 over the time since they released and they only give like 1 Hp and 1 random stat which might as well be nothing.😔 Meanwhile I’m facing off against max investment units in Arena and Aether raids with max merged emblem rings on them and I’m just like…..”well this sucks.” I said to myself that once L female Shez gets her remix/refine if it’s not absolutely crazy one then I’m quitting the game for good. Edit: Seer’s Snare is the goat and needs to be more available.
I'd like to be able to play through actual fire emblem chapters, where you can swap the 'regular' Chrom for a better version of Chrom if you have one. They could make it a roguelike where you choose a few units, start from level 1 (or whatever level they start in their game) and try for a high score. The recent and more powerful units will be balanced because their overpowered skills will be very expensive to relearn so they'll require a lot of investment.
Absolutely. As IS continues their reckless path of powercreep, new units that aren't swiss army knives of effects will very much look unappealing. This also effects the older units as well. IS needs to slow the fuck down with the rampant powercreep and skillcreep going on. It's not sustainable. It's going to turn people away from the gacha when they see that their brand spanking new +10 max invested Timerra is outdone by Halloween Dimitri with his pumpkin lance which has everything and the kitchen sink, as well as his upgraded Barbarity skill that has Laguz Friend, Potent 4 and I don't know, Resonance Tome 4 built in. Either they are intentionally trying to sink the game or they're just that dense. I'm willing to bet that it's both.
have to admit tho despite having to make every new unit crazier than the last every months, they still find new ways and effects to accomplish this goal. Wait for them to add a hit rate skill giving your attacks a chance to miss 💀
As a mostly F2P player, I literally can't win Arena matches. Even my max invested LF4 Fallen Lloyd can't survive a single round of combat in Arena. AR is still very doable as an F2P player though.
I gave up on trying to even keep up with meta. I get a copy of each character and just building my personal favorites despite not being actually viable.
@@jpmagnus6909 it’s the skills on the units, to be honest. Everyone has damage reduction, true damage reduction, health restore (catch4), and now veins. I used to really enjoy crushing TT+ with randomized teams. Now I can’t have the same fun because they sprinkle in these unkillable units.
"At least until you can't use your favorite anymore, but hopefully it won't get to that point" Me that i had to bench base Mordecai because his refine was trash and can't use any arcane weapon :(
Skipping out on an emblem is essentially a death sentence at this point if you plan on playing the competitive modes unfortunately. I didn't have enough orbs at the time so had to skip Celica, and that turned out to be such a big mistake. This game is becoming so difficult for F2P players to keep up with at this point. With the amount of powercreep and how fast units are outdated, it's very difficult to decide which banners are actually worth spending orbs on. It also doesn't help that emblem units are on banners with no sparks so there's no guarantee even if you have a bunch of orbs saved up.
Yeah... I saw the powercreep problem starting years ago, havent played in a few years. So many units I wanted releasing at a rapid fire pace, each one stronger than the last. It got to the point where summoning was actively frusterating, even when I had a decent paying part time job and no bills to pay so I had a lot of money to throw around! Dragalia Lost (may that beautiful game rest in peace) was MUCH better, and heck, even Genshin Impact has a better gacha than Feh!
Genshin has always had the strength of not doing powercreep that often if ever. Even to this day, 4 years later, some of the best units in the game are Day 1 four star units that F2P players can easily obtain. Also, having a guaranteed on every banner, and pity that carries over, makes it more generous than FEH's "you can get a 5 star after 40 pulls but only on specific banners and even then half of them require paying for.
Quit the game last years, I redownload just for Fjorm while giving the game a second chance, and holy fudge, the skill text and skill slot got so complicated now that I don't think I ever play the game again until another Fjorm drop lmao.
Bro, like the last 3 banners, I only have 1 of the focus heroes, mostly being the spark hero. Between CYL only giving me 2 Focus Heroes across 3 sparks, Yukata taking me so far past spark (12% focus change) for a lone 5 star, I feel like I'm falling behind, to the point I can't even summon on the latest banner.
This is just normal "inflation" in economics but happening in games. Devs need to do so and keep a certain "growth rate of stats", in order to keep the players spending time or cash. Welcome to the real world.
At least in something like AR and even SD you can still sort of get by if you have a single copy of a recentish unit or two. Good luck trying to play arena if you didn't roll Shez or one the Ice banner's premium units, because the old +10 are useless. Have fun trying to kill a modern unit with Kronya, I know I don't. Hell, my old fire season team can't even win a match, never mind doing it flawlessly when nukes can just teleport from half a map away. The only unit that's remotely functional is my B!Eirika, and even that is pushing it.
At this point I only enjoy AR-Defense, the rest of the game has gotten stale for me and SD isn’t fun anymore just seeing and using the same group of “meta” characters over and over. I hate how even if we invest into original, creative units and strategies, they either get obliterated in one hit by the meta or whoever the star of the newest banner is next month. It kind of wastes the amount of characters, classes, and skills this game has. I’m not a pro player by any means but sometimes I will put the game down for a few days to weeks, come back and see my AR-D is just getting destroyed by the one shiny new character tanking everything. I need to quit for good lol, I’m happy I finally saw Felix get a brave unit at this point I don’t even look forward to anything new.
I know people say it after every update, but this smells like eos. They released ascended, rearmed and attuned heroes a whole year appart each other. It hasn't even been 9 months since we got emblem Marth and we get aided Reginn now. They probably wanted to release her around January 2025, but they later decided the game would be offed before the next fiscal year in march-april...
I dont understand why they don't do Remix banners for the 3 to 4* pool. Re run the day 1 banner but give the units updated skills to reflect the modern meta.
i only pull banners for fodder for the units i do like, i get emblems only because they make the units i like stronger, as a guy whos played card games powercreep makes the games not fun in the long run, now i play older formats and play how i like and i do the same with this game
Without watching the video Yes and thats why ive been playing less and less and planing on quiting It just sucks so much how 90% of my baracks is useless and if i want anyone old to be useful i need to throw 60$ worth of skills on them Like man i used to get excited when i pulled a 5* Now i dont even keep them for fodder since nobody has anything good anymore
FEH kind of doomed themselves from the start with how fast they would release new units. Compare the frequency to other gachas where you usually get 1-2 new units a month with reruns interspersed throughout.
You should have posted right after Emblem Sigurd's trailer because he might be stupid i mean he is with every emblem unit releasing they will destroy the meta and basically no happy times...
Honestly, I used to spend on units for FEH. But recently, it has become just pointless. I mean, I was lucky and sometimes got the banner unit on the free summon, but come 2 weeks later, and a brand-new powercreep would make itself known. I even stopped wanting to do high end content, and I am honestly just waiting for the EOS to happen, because I just find myself staring at the artworks, and just laughing at the Yu-Gi-Oh!-sized essay of each skill.
I stopped chipping into the game because of how quickly units turn over. In the past- good characters were relevant for 18 months or so. Nowadays they are done within two months. No reason to spend when something will top the current unit archetype within a few banners.
Lol the metas been a black hole for years, like idk how whales even keep up with it with how expensive orbs are and how many orbs it takes to get anything. Yet ppl are spending to get +10 units and +10 emblems on multiple units AND getting fodder units too like??? Only rich salarymen and doctors play this now or what? I cant even get one banner character or a banner sweep for cyl like i used to do every year. The game is also boring as hell and incomprehensible, we shouldve just had crits and chance based effects in this game to have avoided all this fucking algebra
It's just doesn't matter Every 2-3 weeks, new unit just get destroyed by latest update unit But in summoner duels is what show the difference day and night. And i pretty much hate this game almost everything except the unit looks and the story. At this point, the game gonna start to become a sunken ship.
We have LHB like every month. Not my problem if you use the best units to clear them. The new GHB and BHB and L/M/EHB can be done as well with a proper support team. There's also HM grind. No one's forcing you to auto battle it, 🤪. There are things we can do with our units but none of them are worth it or serves a purpose.
Yeah, I definitely agree, the ripple effect is something quite troublesome in FEH. Releasing a broken unit, and then they release the solution to that unit, and some time later they release the counter to the latter, and then the counter of the counter and so on... is quite unhealthy and bothersome at times because it just make even more units that aren't the "source of the problem" or OP obsolete in the blink of an eye... Also, I keep hearing lately from some FEHTubers that we are rn on a great spot for AR and the Meta itself, but actually that's only the case if you have those "core" or meta-defining units, whether it is offensively or defensively. Like Zeshado said, most of times you can't get these type of units in a timely manner. By the time I'm able to get those characters (let's say, for instance, reruns or inside special banners) they're aren't so useful anymore, so it's like "bruh, really? 🤨😮💨" Like what happened with V!Lyon in my own case: I got my first 2 copies of him by pure random luck at the time when he appeared in the hero fest banner with W! Edelgard and L!Gullveig when he is already given the middle finger (personally, I think he's the worst designed unit in the game and honestly I wouldn't have abused him but still...😅)
Emblem Marth living for a whole 3 weeks before getting eclipsed by emblem Ike is my favourite example
I feel like emblem marth was doomed from the start as a 2 mov player phase infantry
And then Duo Robin could curb stomp Ike
Also I use my Emblem Marth all the time, and he can still keep up. Him and Attuned Caeda are terrifying together
@@Winter_Symphony well, that's cute
Meh he sucks so i don't care.
how does a defensive EP unit outclass an offensive PP unit???
also Marth is better and has a significantly longer shelf life than Ike simply because his Engage effect is better lmao

The characters literally have expiry dates now 💀 they age faster than milk (not even an exaggeration…)
At least units are coming with support and that support helps them stay relevent. Like Michiah, even after her combat ages, she will still provide amazing support. Or the newest unit, Ninja Lucina, her support is so insane, I can't imagine her getting powercreeped
As an unlucky free to play who doesn't have a single emblem despite investing enough orbs to reach spark, keeping up with the meta is impossible and it's miserable since what few tools I do have just fail now and there's nothing I can do about it in alot of scenarios - and that's if you talk about pulling for the meta I don't have the resources to pull on good units let alone characters I actually like or care about
It's really off putting and the worse part is it snowballs, you don't get the unit from a banner, meaning you don't have pulls left over since you probably pulled until the banner ran out, meaning you miss the next banner and probably the banner after that regardless
Since there's no spark without feh pass quite literally the only way to get a unit is to "get lucky" which can result in needing to spend far more than usual and still result in the not getting said unit.
The same as rearmed, attuned, seasonals, mythic or legendary units they aren't added to the "normal pool" either so they are fairly "rare" to get (and it's even worse since you can't even try to get one every month as they are extremely exclusive)
To me at least, E! heroes doesn't make sense to be so limited-time + luck restricted and they should have been introduced permanently in some way or another.
Fr, put her on my Erika team and i was excited speed based vantage was back, just for it to become irrelevant in like the next month
About your bit on Seer's Snare, what you said is really good, we need more of that mode like being a permanent weekly thing
But even this mode caught up to powercreep.
Last map actually pissed me off so bad. Seer's Snare I would none stop play. But the last one I didn't touch again.
I think this was the perfect video to put out before the Emblem trailer released tonight. We’ll have to see just how well it aged.
Edit: Huehuehuehue.
Yeah title is specially true when you see that new double special heroes banner with the tickets and none of the units look remotely appealing...
I thought there was a dancer or two on the banner? Dancers are always a nice thing to have, even the worst dancers are still a second version of the modern cracked OP unit
A few months ago I would've wanted almost all those units. But now, what's the point?
@@annieme-tions I wish they'd pump the breaks on the power creep a bit, or at least buff old heroes more with the refines so they can keep up better
Maybe we should be getting second refines for some first and second generation units
@@baxterbruce9827 Refines need to be more frequent. Powercreep definitely needs to slow down. And we need easier access to newer skills, hell even skills from last year are still hard to come by.
@@annieme-tions My genuine suggestion for refines? Make them more often or add a cycle of second refines for REALLY old units while continuing the current schedule
As for everything else?
They crossed a point of no return some time ago
Feh is my pretty art collector game. The meta got too much when every new kit came with damage reduction :(
Collecting waifu and husbando artwork is more fun than the actual “gameplay” 😇
The desire to build up older units will keep going down while the dragonflower caps keep rising on top of its price. Got a cool seasonal unit from many years ago? Cool. Spend THOUSANDS of dragonflowers on them just to make their stats better!
Seriously, we are up the point where old units need +7 to all of their stats with flowers now with the cap at 35. And IS' reaction was to demand that we get MERGES on newer special units for a small amount more of these flowers. This is getting absurd.
I tried to play pawns of Loki yesterday and it was just a bunch of units killing themselves when attacking Emblem Ike. It was so stupid lmao
It has started to feel like those dumb games kids play, where they yell an OP attack, then an OP shield over and over
I only summon for waifus in feh so i don’t care about the meta.

My male to female ratio in my barracks is like 3/4 female 1/4 male.😂
Collecting the waifus and husbandos for their artwork is more fun than the actual “gameplay”… 😇
I remember in the interview they mentioned they would be careful about power creep
Fast forward to today
I've been happier with the game since I've stopped trying to go crazy in Aether Raids and Arena. The gane isn't worth the effort for like, 1 extra orb and 1,000 extra feathers every week
personally im just building a harem in game so idc.
Yesssss, preach!
Probably the best way to approach the game at this point honestly. I’m only ever playing it for the characters nowadays.
The game is not good for anything other than collecting waifu and husbando artwork… much more fun than the actual “gameplay” 😇
A good way to illustrate this is i used to wait for DSH banners to get a better share, if i do that nowadays the unit im pulling for is already not great
Units now have a lifespan of like 1 Banner to the next
I think Emblem Heroes will age very well until AHR 2025 as Emblem rings are very useful and also Emblem Heroes can be busted
I would not be surprised if people decide that fan servers for when the game officially shuts down are not worth it due to the insane powercreep.
Could fan servers make things free? I would totally play again if I could get all the orbs I want for free and summon on any banner until I build my perfect teams.
Offline version could be a possibility. Just look at X Dive.
No it's possible sides maybe the Fan server could bring some things like weapon evolution so that way the older characters can have access to the busted new versions of their weapon
hell, maybe allow a way to transfer preference specials or skills to other versions of that unit unless the alt is a Healer

As for Emblems and "Not getting them being very detrimental", I only got Emblem Marth and mostly forget I have him 😅, didn't get Ike or Celica and I don't feel like I'm handicapped because of it, sure, it'd be cool to have them, but I don't really suffer by not having them (or by forgetting to use Marth 😅)
Maybe the reason why I don't feel like I'm being left behind is because I don't actively try to stay high on the AR/Arena ladders, instead I just play those modes (mostly just Arena) with my favorites or units I like regardless of scoring (like how I just keep using Eitri even if it's not fire season lol.)
I have play for only 3 months, join for the chaos and use units that you would never see in a main FE game. And that's exactly what i got
As a free to player, you have to know your priorities, i focus mine on units with high movement or enable high movement, and so i'm looking forward to the new Emblem banner.
But for people who do play PvP half-seriously or who just want to try their best, the powercreep is real, and it reaches a point where you cannot do anything unless you have the latest top tier unit (which will fall off super quickly anyway.)
I've always been in Arena Tier 20-21 (20 when I don't have a Legendary or good bonus unit), this week, for the first time, I'll go back down to T19 because all I got is Ice Nils and all the teams I'm facing are monsters. You think the PvE Brave Felix is bad ? Try facing +10 E!Ike and +10 B!Felix in one same team in Arena or Aether Raids on the regular :P
I build my Arena Team with good scoring Grail units and it's always worked well, but I guess it's reaching its end.
Or send Felix who has cavalry movement and counts as 3 units at once
When all my efforts to create a team are invalidated due to few shiny, new units, I don't get the pleasure from team building, and this game offers nothing aside from that.
At some point we are going to get a unit with the same life expectancy as Concord
The game isn’t fun anymore
Fr i miss the og feh...
@@UltimateInkling you used to be able to play with your favourite characters…. Ow you can’t
@@Libellulaire exactly. I love my boi Roy but he keeps getting screwed over
As someone who has been playing since day 1, tbh I just want the game to end soon.
Alright, here after the new Emblem dropped. Just don't wanna open up the game anymore
@@JosepiThe13th Eh, she was a problem either way. The damage reduction and healing was too much.
Yeah, the power creep has been ramping up, it makes me wonder just how much time FEH has before EoS
I played often until the end of book 5, then I took a break until a this summer. My favorite is Felicia. I think I got to the point where I can’t use my favorite anymore 😐
Ice Tribe Felicia 😉
As long as I can field an Ike and my favorite Green Haired Murder Machine (read: Nino), I'll be a happy man
There's no safe investment.
My favorite thing is that I waited for legendary male corrin for so long just to see him get demolished like a month later by units like attuned micaiah which was really cool then later with legendary male shez and duo fjorm not long after
Dang I'm really happy it happened twice
This meta is a nightmarish hellscape rivaled only by the Nott/Sigurd days, and it's more expensive than ever trying to survive it.
Units nowadays are aging really fast. I agree with your points.
It all comes back to rolling
Even with everything aging faster than ever, we still only receive 300 orbs a month. It should be at least 500 at this point. When people think pulling is not worth it due to summoning currency vs speed of power creep, a gacha dies fast
I am still trying to make Roy great again using his prf weapon.
Yeah, he was great
I even bother to read new weapons or skills, im playing like a robot.
While I like emblems and the extra effects they bring to the table I’ve only been able to get all three of them to +2 over the time since they released and they only give like 1 Hp and 1 random stat which might as well be nothing.😔
Meanwhile I’m facing off against max investment units in Arena and Aether raids with max merged emblem rings on them and I’m just like…..”well this sucks.”
I said to myself that once L female Shez gets her remix/refine if it’s not absolutely crazy one then I’m quitting the game for good.
Affinity Auto Battles
This game is falling appart real quick honestly.
It's not even power creep anymore, it's power waves.
Poor B!Bernedetta, she came only for shield fighter to be released in a week
have to admit tho despite having to make every new unit crazier than the last every months, they still find new ways and effects to accomplish this goal.
I haven’t played since Emblem Celica’s banner. The game just isn’t fun anymore
You made it that far before giving up? I'm impressed. Seriously.
Yeah I feel totally the same. Since emblem Ike this game is unbearable.
Literally just here to grind HM and collect PNGs of people I like. I totally understand bailing on heroes, because even PVE is not what is used to be.
@nickelouscage Even PVE now? What's happened? I ask because I quit when book 6 ended two years ago.
My favorite is M!Robin, I AM COOKED (And honestly have been for a few months now but the copium keeps me going)
I’ve quit this game ages ago, and I’m glad I did 😭
Nice, I enjoy listening to yappyappyapp about feh
Units need proper niches to stay relevant. That’s why Valentines Myrrh and Nergal are still used and will continue to provide value.
"At least until you can't use your favorite anymore, but hopefully it won't get to that point"
Me that i had to bench base Mordecai because his refine was trash and can't use any arcane weapon :(
Skipping out on an emblem is essentially a death sentence at this point if you plan on playing the competitive modes unfortunately.
All I’m going to say is I need emblem Roy in my life and I’ll be happy
Devs need to do so and keep a certain "growth rate of stats",
in order to keep the players spending time or cash.
We really need new refines for the already refined units
If you’re using real world money to play fire emblem heroes, I feel bad for you. Most banners lose value faster than when you drive a car off the lot.
New Fjorm doesn’t take B! Bernadetta?
this game is fun when you create a new account
i only pull banners for fodder for the units i do like, i get emblems only because they make the units i like stronger, as a guy whos played card games powercreep makes the games not fun in the long run, now i play older formats and play how i like and i do the same with this game
Without watching the video
Yes and thats why ive been playing less and less and planing on quiting
It just sucks so much how 90% of my baracks is useless and if i want anyone old to be useful i need to throw 60$ worth of skills on them
Like man i used to get excited when i pulled a 5*
Now i dont even keep them for fodder since nobody has anything good anymore
FEH kind of doomed themselves from the start with how fast they would release new units. Compare the frequency to other gachas where you usually get 1-2 new units a month with reruns interspersed throughout.
theyve ages too fast. do a seer snare and give older heroes 2 rows of a,b and c skills
Feh is speed running powercreep
Oh boy
I stopped chipping into the game because of how quickly units turn over. In the past- good characters were relevant for 18 months or so. Nowadays they are done within two months. No reason to spend when something will top the current unit archetype within a few banners.
Exactly. I’ve waited so long for Felix to get a brave alt and it’s amazing but I can also see him getting powercrept by the end of this year.
I finally un-installed the game... I'm free...
It's just doesn't matter
Every 2-3 weeks, new unit just get destroyed by latest update unit
But in summoner duels is what show the difference day and night.
Brave Felix my goat being countered by a f*cking Brat Armoured Axe who was FREE. Yeah I think I'm done with this game
How does she counter him? Legit question. 😢 felix is owning me
Just give the man null follow up as the S slot, you'll be fine
I think that's more of what seal you on him rather than him being bad.
My Emblem Marth one-shot her, and he's way weaker than Felix
Null follow up is a Seal skill that can defeat her.
This is one I'm actually okay with. Fuck Felix and his dumb bullshit.
Like what happened with V!Lyon in my own case: I got my first 2 copies of him by pure random luck at the time when he appeared in the hero fest banner with W! Edelgard and L!Gullveig when he is already given the middle finger (personally, I think he's the worst designed unit in the game and honestly I wouldn't have abused him but still...😅)
Game is not fun anymore
no "hey!" every 5 seconds if the video.
hitting the dislike button.
