I was lucky enough to know Richard for 4 years. Heart of gold, do anything for anybody and was one of my best mates. You’ll never be forgotten and you can watch me on stage will all your friends playing your favourite songs you wrote. We’ll have a jam again one day mate. Rest In Peace my dear friend. Love you mate 💖👍🎸
I saw The Stems several times in Sydney in '87. Bought the LP and had lots of their EP's and singles about (including this one) due to my benevolent house mate, who also introduced me to them. Thanks big Dick!
Just home from seeing the stems at the corner, last saw them there sometime in the 1980s - this song was not on the set list! Ash Naylor did a fab job, as always, a worthy tribute to Richard.
That's because Dom HATED Richard and refuses play songs Richard has written in the set where he can. I'm pretty sure the only Richard song they play would be Tears Me In Two.
Thanks for sharing, love this song!! One of my favourite Oz bands and disappointing that they weren't around for long. It made my year when I discovered the remastered CD of the At First Sight album!
Funny how The Stems and ( Le) Hoodoo Gurus were both Perth bands pioneering the mid 60s rock revival look and sound. Never saw either of them at the time , too busy catching Perths amazing hard rock and blues , blues/ rock bands of the time.

Just found this. Oh Richard, WTF!? A dear friend of mine for many years too. Still raw.
Wicked band - loved listening to them in the 80s
This is one of my favorite Australian bands -and it’s recorded loud on original vinyl. This song is perfectly kickass.

Love this song my favourite. I was lucky enough to see them back in the eighty's at the Chevron Hotel in Sydney
As I recall, it was wee small hours when they put the Perth bands on Appealathon. Thank God you were up to record it.

Le Hoodoo Gurus were formed in Sydney. Yes 3 of the 4 members are from Perth but they were living in Sydney at the time.
@@dailybackup8372 Hmm maybe not technically started in Perth but the soul and heart and commeraderie was Perth.
Thanks ;)
Great group, great music......not recognised my the mainstream. But then again did they ever look for that type of approval? I do not think so.......
give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Give a man an axe and he'll rock all night \m/
They are under my shrooms... Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuiuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
