    • FFF - Factorio Friday ...
    Check out Factorio at: www.factorio.com
Factorio is a game in which you build and maintain factories.
You will be mining resources, researching technologies, building infrastructure, automating production and fighting enemies. Use your imagination to design your factory, combine simple elements into ingenious structures, apply management skills to keep it working and finally protect it from the creatures who don't really like you.
Join forces with other players in cooperative Multiplayer, create huge factories, collaborate and delegate tasks between you and your friends. Add mods to increase your enjoyment, from small tweak and helper mods to complete game overhauls, Factorio's ground-up Modding support has allowed content creators from around the world to design interesting and innovative features. While the core gameplay is in the form of the freeplay scenario, there are a range of interesting challenges in the form of the Scenario pack, available as free DLC. If you don't find any maps or scenarios you enjoy, you can create your own with the in-game Map Editor, place down entities, enemies, and terrain in any way you like, and even add your own custom script to make for interesting gameplay.

Moving around map icons is fantastic. I always had them misaligned, because you never know where exactly they end up. And then you had to delete it and create a new one

Wonder if this means we'll get 64-bit circuit network channels.
Also the math operator inputs will be really nice to have since you can do something like 50*48*6*8 if you have an ore pickup stop with 8 lines of 6 steel chests as a buffer for 4 cargo wagons to collect; and you can use that number to determine how full that entire stop is and summon a train if there's enough to fill.

Fast inserter not connected to wires has circuit logic boxes attached to it's base. Maybe something to do with it supplying active provider chest.

@@StickerWyck not what I was referring to but I’ll see if I can spot what you are seeing. IIRC the logic box without wires is something that can be replicated in the current game

I like all of these, though I'm not sure which I'll be the happiest with when I actually get to use them.
One thing though, I would love a way to see the entire number when it had been abbreviated to 'k' or 'm'. Right now, when I really want that, I have to set up a combinator system to pull out the digits in threes using division and mod (aka '%') arithmetic combinators.

all of these features are good but some of theme as so close to being absolutely fantastic:
underground belt/pipe indicator, great idea, but only have one stage where the belt shows its max length is not enough for most people, especially on longer belts
    Yellow
    Yellow
    Yellow
    Green!
    TOO FAR
it should instead be either a gradient, or show the max length by highlighting the tile itself, or it could also just attempt to place additional underground belts/pipes to reach the desired length like how smart dragging currently does.
Lamp RGB colors, I love this already but it really should be editable by the circuit network, an easy way to do that would be to have it read an incoming set of 3 signals, R (red) G (green) B (blue), then set the lamp to the color required
as for the last part, I never play with cliffs anyways so I'm not sure how much it matters but hey its an improvement

All seems quite fun but I'd want lamps to be able to receive signals for rgb. I think it would be sad to have fancy lamps just for non circuit situations. I guess they want to keep it consistent to the previous version but I'd either say to replace the old version or give lamps a dumb mode and an advanced mode. TLDR I want rgb strips next to my railways

In regards to map bot colours, isnt that already a thing? or maybe i have a mod that adds that i dont know about. Yellow=construction, white=logi and green=player bots.

Yes, plus cyan = spidertron bots. I think they're adding additional colors indicating the status of the bots, e.g., logistic bot making delivery to you.

the maximum session that i achieved according to steam statistics was to play around _"1000 hours during the last two weeks"_ because steam counts the playtime of the last two weeks including ALL of the current session, but after that time windows always forced a reboot to finish updates.
but when continueing to play on the same map, 2+ years (=17.5k hours) for one game are no problem: to be able to immediately test some new ideas that i had or that i got from watching videos, i often let the game run in the background like a screensaver :-)
that's also why steam shows a total playtime of 16k+ hours for me (ignoring how much time was spent in the main menu vs ingame vs on different savegames), and i certainly have more than that time for the standalone game too (testing the game on version 0.6, and regularly playing since shortly before the update from 0.12 to 0.13).
but thanks to the new improvement, i'll be able to play a new map on release of 2.0 and hopefully continue for 300k hours :-)
