The best part about PS3… the amount of games!!! I own over 100 games and still haven’t played most of the games on your list. This is the last gen to have such a diverse library.
If you havent tried Folklore, 3d Dot Game Heroes, Puppeteer yet.. please add them to your list I feel you fellas would enjoy those games Infamous loved the good/bad dynamic, our actions had consequences, good citizens help, bad they pointed us out to enemies, chased/jumped us!
Motorstorm Pacific Rift is probably the best PS3 game. Epic graphics, great soundtrack, amazing gameplay, but only one flaw, it's practically impossible to finish it, the final stages are incredibly difficult and it's also sad that it doesn't work online anymore. The two DLCs are a great addition too! I played this game for about 4 years!
Great list. I especially like Infamous. I liked the good/evil path branching and the huge city to explore. It was a great prelude to what we would eventually see in the Spider-Man games. Kudos for including Heavenly Sword. A game that is so old that it predated PS3 trophies!
Its amazing how much the PS3 generation holds up to current gen. Obviously there are upgrades, but you could release a game that looks like a ps3 title now and people would fine with it I think (as long as performance was at least good). If you haven't checked out 3D dot game heroes you should. Its amazing to me that its stuck on the PS3 and had From Soft gave it more love that series could have become an unofficial Zelda maker type series. Also not trying to be 'that guy' just clarifying for those who may want go find it, but mod racers is actually titled Mod Nation Racers. Unless there were two but I don't think so.

Actually I just bought the sly Cooper collection recently, the digital edition from the PSN store. Those look GREAT upscaled on the PS3, the original sly Cooper is a severely underrated classic
"Mod racers"? For the record the Official name is Mod Nation Racers and I loved the drifting and track creation of that game. Very multiplater couch friendly. The amount of customization is insane too and back in the day had quite a few playstation exclusive characters in it. 🖤🖤🖤

Hell yeah the PS3 is still relevant The exclusives are the reason I chose the PS3 over the 360 that and the PS move and couch co-op light gun games The PS3 came out 16 years ago and the games still look amazing till today they prioritized genuine fun over competitive online sh*t that plagued all of gaming I'm an OG here in this channel but keep getting excited about every new video you release especially anything PS3 related Cheers!!
PS3 is still king in 2022. The slim model is extremly reliable and if you have 320GB it's the perfect console. Recently i've been playing all the games i missed from PS1 and PS2 era on it and couldn't be happier.
All these years later, I still come back to my PS3 for Sengoku Basara. Highly recommend to anyone that likes hack n slash. It's Dynasty Warriors turned up to 11.

I was shocked you mentioned Full Auto 2 and ModNation Racers. That makes me happy. Racing games are sooooo boring these days. It’s just mostly boring simulation ones. Great list of games guys. Since you're into co-op games i'd recommend Playstation All-Stars battle royale and/or Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL. The latter isn't exclusive but still a fun game.
You know it's so weird, I spent most of that gen with the 360 but I did spend a lot of time with the ps3 and wii, not as much but I feel like I have HUGE memories with both. I mean Mod Nation Racers was top and I wish people could still experience it. I started going back and collecting for ps3 in 2020, getting games I played, missed out on, just racking them up! Tales of Xillia 1 and 2 drew me in and they're stuck on that system along with so many bangers. I wish they'd find a way to hand over multiplayer games to people who want to maintain them out of love for the game too so some games don't just die completely, surely there's a solution that works for everyone :(
Folklore is the reason, I have the PS3 again. That eary mix of Japanese interpretation of Irish mythology is strange but fantastic. Great atmosphere. Not exclusive to the PS3 but to the time is the HD remix of Nights into dreams and Sonic Generations as also Avalon (Indie rpg before Indie was a genre). Also don’t forget the now lost Turtles in time (lost in time). I only have the demo….
I PC for the PS3 and its a personal fav of mine. So many great titles that easily hold up still! I'm up to about 200 games for it and climbing. Another banga boys! Appreciate the videos!
PS3 is, was, and always will be fantastic. I have Infamous 1 and 2 but haven't played them yet (in my backlog of PS3 games of which there are still many) but I've always heard good things about it. A few others I'd include as well: Folklore and Drakengard 3 (both of them, sadly, need the original Six-Axis motion controller just like Heavenly Sword), 3D Dot Game Heroes, Puppeteer, Tales of Xilla 1 and 2. There was (I didn't know of it until after I got my PS3 later on and it had been removed by then) a digital only exclusive: The Punisher: No Mercy. An awesome first-person shooter playing as The Punisher. Rights issues got it taken down and it's in limbo. I hope one day it gets sorted and gets an actual physical release. Preferably a Limited Run PS3 one to keep it a PS3 exclusive.
Infamous 2, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time, Motorstorm Apocalypse, Tokyo Jungle, Folklore & Puppeteer would be my suggestions. All fantastic games!
My favorite PS3-exclusive game was Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online. The only thing that I didn't like about Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online was it was downloadable only and there was no physical copy version for the PS3. And that really sucks.
People still give me crap for collecting and playing ps1-4 games . I'm not kidding when I say this, there is nothing out there on the switch, ps5 or xbox series that I NEED to play. I mean I went out as an 20 year old working at jiffy lube for 9 bucks an hour and dropped 600 on the og ps3 just for mgs4. Nothing does it for me like that anymore
I got them all physical except Mod Racers and Full Auto 2. In Resistance 2 where the wave of Chimera came at you in the backyard I am Legend style is the best.
Quick note on Heavenly Sword (a game by Ninja Theory --the team behind DMC: Devil May Cry), if you play on PC via RPCS3 you do not need the sixaxis motion controller. You can disable them in the options. Also, in terms of hack and slash games, I'm playing Dante's Inferno right now on PC (4K/60 FPS) and its awesome!

I have a launch PS4. Still works. Amazon took months to invite me to buy a PS5, so I got a used PS3 on eBay and got some of the must-play exclusives I missed out when I had it back in 2011. Same week, Amazon invited me to buy the PS5.😂 That was in December 2022. I bought it, but it wasn't until TWO DAYS ago that I turned it on after like four months, and that I finally played an actual PS5 game on it. Sidenote: Horizon Forbidden West looks INCREDIBLE in 4K. Stunning, retina-searingly sharp graphics full of the tiniest nuances, even more impressive than any PC game I've ever played, and I have an RTX 4090 Liquid Suprim X on my gaming PC. Crazy, because the PS5's GPU is equivalent to something between an RTX 2070 Super and a 2080... Back to the PS3: it is still super fun in comparison. There's something special about its games that is missing in modern titles. Uncharted 2 is so freakin' impressive. Still feels like a next-gen game. It has that foreign, exciting vibe that is on another level. Killzone 2 has so many little details, and the weighty feel, the sound design and the animations are on another level. If you can forgive the low-res graphics, which used to be high-res back then, you'll have a blast! If you can't afford a PS5 and cannot save for one, a PS3 and the best exclusives can be found for cheap on eBay. If you shop well, you can find you a used console and a few games for $150 easy.
The thing i love about this gen is that graphics/art design was all ya need and then they highly focused on reactive gameplay. The feel, environment damage, reactive enemies, fun movement mechanics, local co-op (these things need to become staple focus features for games again) There's so much more important things to games than graphics. Stuff like this shows us that.

I remember back in the day during the early years of PS3 life span, there was a meme going on saying PS3 didn't have any games. Anyone could also recall that? lol. I would also add Asura's Wrath, Nier, and Lair into the mix.

The Order 1886 blew my mind! Motorstorm, killzone 1 & 2, free Internet. This was the first time i moved from a xbox 360. I had to send in 5! Red ring of death consoles to get fixed. The ps3 had awesome motion control games loved frisbee golf ⛳ blu ray. Ps3 was awesome! Infamous, etc.

2 things: 1- LBP shut down their servers for good due to hackers. RIP 2- Motorstorm 1 won’t let you install DLC, so if you want the full experience you’ll have to import Motorstorm Complete which is a Japanese rerelease that has the bonus content on the disc

FYI, you don’t need an original PS3 Sixaxis controller. An officially licensed Dual Shock 3 also has Sixaxis controls built in. Any controller made by Sony.
I bought Metal Gear 4, 3 times now. The first at full price, got a bad disk wouldn't play 😢. Second time for $40 bad disk wouldn't play😢. Last time for $3 at the pawn shop. Fingers crossed this one works!
Hell yeah man PS3 is my favorite retro console post 2000s. I've got about 410 PS3 games I started collecting them about 3 years ago when they were dirt ass cheap and then about a week after I got my 410th PS3 game Sony announced that they were going to close the store down and the prices of games skyrocketed and then when they announced that it was going to stay open they came down a little bit but they've still been around retail for many of the games ever since. So glad I jumped on that when I did. After that I went and collected Wii U because of you guys and those games were dirt cheap at the time and then I jumped over to Wii which was pretty cheap at the time and then OG Xbox thanks to yall. And finally 360 which is probably the last console that's affordable these days

My favorite PS3 games... -3D Dot Game Heroes (best damn Legend of Zelda clone) -Heavenly Sword (hot babe kicking ass, hells yeah) -Motor Storm Apocalypse (gets my Mad Max juices a flowing) -Infamous (really set the bar for how super hero games would go) -Killzone 2 & 3 (the only FPS that can hang with Halo and Doom in mah book) -Resistance 1 & 2 (another great FPS) -Tales of Xillia (one of my favorites in the Tales of series) -Nier and Drakengard (the best games on the PS3 in mah book) -Demon's Souls (the game that started the Soulsborne craze)

Infamous 1 and 2 are both great. Theres also something called Festival of Blood, a fun shorter standalone Infamous game. I think its only on PS3 and it was 5 bucks to download

Since you're into co-op games i'd recommend Playstation All-Stars battle royale and/or Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL. The latter isn't exclusive but still a fun game.

You know it's so weird, I spent most of that gen with the 360 but I did spend a lot of time with the ps3 and wii, not as much but I feel like I have HUGE memories with both. I mean Mod Nation Racers was top and I wish people could still experience it.
I started going back and collecting for ps3 in 2020, getting games I played, missed out on, just racking them up! Tales of Xillia 1 and 2 drew me in and they're stuck on that system along with so many bangers.
I wish they'd find a way to hand over multiplayer games to people who want to maintain them out of love for the game too so some games don't just die completely, surely there's a solution that works for everyone :(

Folklore is the reason, I have the PS3 again. That eary mix of Japanese interpretation of Irish mythology is strange but fantastic. Great atmosphere. Not exclusive to the PS3 but to the time is the HD remix of Nights into dreams and Sonic Generations as also Avalon (Indie rpg before Indie was a genre). Also don’t forget the now lost Turtles in time (lost in time). I only have the demo….

I bought my 1st ps3 in August 2007 with Sega Rally. Next was Resistance 1 and Ratchet ToD. Love it even more today.
I still play my PS3 all the time. Because it's so hard to emulate the console is still a must own.

PS3 is, was, and always will be fantastic. I have Infamous 1 and 2 but haven't played them yet (in my backlog of PS3 games of which there are still many) but I've always heard good things about it. A few others I'd include as well: Folklore and Drakengard 3 (both of them, sadly, need the original Six-Axis motion controller just like Heavenly Sword), 3D Dot Game Heroes, Puppeteer, Tales of Xilla 1 and 2. There was (I didn't know of it until after I got my PS3 later on and it had been removed by then) a digital only exclusive: The Punisher: No Mercy. An awesome first-person shooter playing as The Punisher. Rights issues got it taken down and it's in limbo. I hope one day it gets sorted and gets an actual physical release. Preferably a Limited Run PS3 one to keep it a PS3 exclusive.

Infamous 2, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time, Motorstorm Apocalypse, Tokyo Jungle, Folklore & Puppeteer would be my suggestions. All fantastic games!

My favorite PS3-exclusive game was Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online. The only thing that I didn't like about Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online was it was downloadable only and there was no physical copy version for the PS3. And that really sucks.

People still give me crap for collecting and playing ps1-4 games . I'm not kidding when I say this, there is nothing out there on the switch, ps5 or xbox series that I NEED to play. I mean I went out as an 20 year old working at jiffy lube for 9 bucks an hour and dropped 600 on the og ps3 just for mgs4. Nothing does it for me like that anymore
I feel ya, tho I do enjoy Switch. There's NOTHING the PS5 is currently offering me that hypes me up or makes me wanna buy the console

Cool list guys, Killzone 2 was good and I picked up MGS4 opening day. MGS4 one of the best made ps3 games in my opinion.

I got them all physical except Mod Racers and Full Auto 2. In Resistance 2 where the wave of Chimera came at you in the backyard I am Legend style is the best.

Quick note on Heavenly Sword (a game by Ninja Theory --the team behind DMC: Devil May Cry), if you play on PC via RPCS3 you do not need the sixaxis motion controller. You can disable them in the options. Also, in terms of hack and slash games, I'm playing Dante's Inferno right now on PC (4K/60 FPS) and its awesome!

I have a launch PS4. Still works. Amazon took months to invite me to buy a PS5, so I got a used PS3 on eBay and got some of the must-play exclusives I missed out when I had it back in 2011.
Same week, Amazon invited me to buy the PS5.😂 That was in December 2022. I bought it, but it wasn't until TWO DAYS ago that I turned it on after like four months, and that I finally played an actual PS5 game on it.
Sidenote: Horizon Forbidden West looks INCREDIBLE in 4K. Stunning, retina-searingly sharp graphics full of the tiniest nuances, even more impressive than any PC game I've ever played, and I have an RTX 4090 Liquid Suprim X on my gaming PC.
Crazy, because the PS5's GPU is equivalent to something between an RTX 2070 Super and a 2080...
Back to the PS3: it is still super fun in comparison. There's something special about its games that is missing in modern titles. Uncharted 2 is so freakin' impressive. Still feels like a next-gen game. It has that foreign, exciting vibe that is on another level.
Killzone 2 has so many little details, and the weighty feel, the sound design and the animations are on another level. If you can forgive the low-res graphics, which used to be high-res back then, you'll have a blast!
If you can't afford a PS5 and cannot save for one, a PS3 and the best exclusives can be found for cheap on eBay. If you shop well, you can find you a used console and a few games for $150 easy.

The thing i love about this gen is that graphics/art design was all ya need and then they highly focused on reactive gameplay. The feel, environment damage, reactive enemies, fun movement mechanics, local co-op (these things need to become staple focus features for games again) There's so much more important things to games than graphics. Stuff like this shows us that.

I remember back in the day during the early years of PS3 life span, there was a meme going on saying PS3 didn't have any games. Anyone could also recall that? lol. I would also add Asura's Wrath, Nier, and Lair into the mix.

The Order 1886 blew my mind! Motorstorm, killzone 1 & 2, free Internet. This was the first time i moved from a xbox 360. I had to send in 5! Red ring of death consoles to get fixed. The ps3 had awesome motion control games loved frisbee golf ⛳ blu ray. Ps3 was awesome! Infamous, etc.

Also so strange how Full Auto was a 360 exclusive but Full Auto 2 was a PS3 exclusive. Either way they are fun, cheap, hidden gems!

1- LBP shut down their servers for good due to hackers. RIP
2- Motorstorm 1 won’t let you install DLC, so if you want the full experience you’ll have to import Motorstorm Complete which is a Japanese rerelease that has the bonus content on the disc

FYI, you don’t need an original PS3 Sixaxis controller. An officially licensed Dual Shock 3 also has Sixaxis controls built in. Any controller made by Sony.

I bought Metal Gear 4, 3 times now. The first at full price, got a bad disk wouldn't play 😢. Second time for $40 bad disk wouldn't play😢. Last time for $3 at the pawn shop. Fingers crossed this one works!

3D Dot Game Heroes, a fantastic game locked to the PS3. I really wish this one gets a re-release, digital or physical.
Hell yeah man PS3 is my favorite retro console post 2000s. I've got about 410 PS3 games I started collecting them about 3 years ago when they were dirt ass cheap and then about a week after I got my 410th PS3 game Sony announced that they were going to close the store down and the prices of games skyrocketed and then when they announced that it was going to stay open they came down a little bit but they've still been around retail for many of the games ever since. So glad I jumped on that when I did. After that I went and collected Wii U because of you guys and those games were dirt cheap at the time and then I jumped over to Wii which was pretty cheap at the time and then OG Xbox thanks to yall.
And finally 360 which is probably the last console that's affordable these days

-3D Dot Game Heroes (best damn Legend of Zelda clone)
-Heavenly Sword (hot babe kicking ass, hells yeah)
-Motor Storm Apocalypse (gets my Mad Max juices a flowing)
-Infamous (really set the bar for how super hero games would go)
-Killzone 2 & 3 (the only FPS that can hang with Halo and Doom in mah book)
-Resistance 1 & 2 (another great FPS)
-Tales of Xillia (one of my favorites in the Tales of series)
-Nier and Drakengard (the best games on the PS3 in mah book)
-Demon's Souls (the game that started the Soulsborne craze)

Infamous 1 and 2 are both great. Theres also something called Festival of Blood, a fun shorter standalone Infamous game. I think its only on PS3 and it was 5 bucks to download

It seems like at some point, either you own a PS5 or a PS4, every hardcore Playstation gamer should own a PS3. The games on this console are just too gorgeous. Don't own a PS3, and I'm thinking of buying one.
