The problem with signing Grbac and letting Dilfer go is that Dilfer knew his limitations as a QB, Grbac didn’t. So Grbac threw more INTS. Also, they lost Jamal Lewis in training camp
This game marked -The Ravens first playoff defeat in franchise history -The first Steelers playoff win since the 1997 Divisional round -The first-ever playoff win for the Steelers at Heinz Field -Rod Woodson’s last game as a Raven -Kordell Stewart’s last career playoff win -The Steelers first home win against the Ravens since 1998 -The first of four Steelers-Ravens playoff games this century (all in Pittsburgh) Tell me any more I’m missing
Jermaine Lewis, Shannon Sharpe, Rod Woodson, Tony Siragusa, and Jamie Sharper’s last games as Ravens, all very major parts of the 2000 championship team. Siragusa’s last game in the NFL
Randall Cunningham won at Heinz Field in early November, never even got a chance in this game. 2-0 and that was it for him. Cunningham could NOT have fared any worse
on PIT punt returner Troy Edwards... as a kid I had a trading card with a typo on it that called him Trot Edwards. I also had a Troy Airman card instead of Aikman.
As a small 5 year old in Wisconsin that playoff game Elvis came in for an injured Steve Young in the Mud in Lambeau was the reason I fell in love with football
Funny how dilfer caught fire at the end of the year in seattle and was probably playing better then he was in his superbowl year. Would rather have dilfer then grbac.
Surprised anit-trust violations didn't get activated to present that. One of the requirements congress had for allowing the merger to happen is that the super bowl remains over the air. ESPN is not an OTA channel
Elvis Grbac's last NFL game as NFL QB. Elvis has left the building.
Elvis should've been better
@@Dud512 elvis presley in his current state would have been better.
They should have told Trent dilfer

The final battle of AFC Central teams
@@chrisuncleahmad shannon sharpes last game in baltimore.
Tony Siragusa's final game.
Jermaine Lewis, Shannon Sharpe, Rod Woodson, Tony Siragusa, and Jamie Sharper’s last games as Ravens, all very major parts of the 2000 championship team. Siragusa’s last game in the NFL
Kordell Stewart’s only playoff victory as a QB
RIP Ravens title defense
RIP Elvis Grbac's career
Randall Cunningham won at Heinz Field in early November, never even got a chance in this game.
2-0 and that was it for him.
Cunningham could NOT have fared any worse
Yes he would he had the same offense as the first meeting
Before Harbaugh and Tomlin, it was Billick and Cowher
Im kinda shocked neither of them went back into coaching. Billick was an offensive coach and I feel like in today's league he would be pretty good
@@Dud512 Why face the pressure of coaching when you can make just as much money sitting at a studio desk?
@@JahNuhThunDeeTheOneAndOnly true. Im just saying I think he would've been good in today's league
@@Dud512 Perhaps and yet Billick’s offenses in Baltimore were never really good, were they?
@@JahNuhThunDeeTheOneAndOnly offense and offensive players since have gotten better
Part of the Ravens success in 2000 was their running game. Priest Holmes leaves, Jamal Lewis gets hurt, boom.
And Priest ended up leading the league in rushing that year with the KC Chiefs 😆! Lol
Ravens have always been built on the run game and dominant defense. Fan since 96 and this is just their recipe. Even now in 2022
@@AmirKhan-yv8jmFalse. Priest did not lead the league in 2002. Good try though. LOL
@@yitzyissacslol this is 2001 brother try again. This playoff game just happened to be january 2002
haha that Joey Porter thing at the end was cute! Love when the players show some love for Chris Berman.
Plaxico Burress seemed to step up his game against Baltimore and he always seemed to have Chris McAlister's number.
on PIT punt returner Troy Edwards... as a kid I had a trading card with a typo on it that called him Trot Edwards. I also had a Troy Airman card instead of Aikman.
I was at this game - couldn’t believe Bettis wasn’t playing - D played great/crowd was fired up.
The Ravens might’ve won another Super Bowl if they had a better QB. I mean their defense almost carried them again
They would have been better off with Randall Cunningham
@@chrisuncleahmad Lets say Baltimore gave him the keys and he won a ring. Would Randall be a Hall of Famer?
@@Dud512 hopefully
@@Dud512 I think a ring pushes him over the top and he would get in. Not first ballot, but he would make it in.
If they kept Trent Dilfer they would have had stability at the quarterback position. Without Dilfer they would not have won the super bowl
If Elvis Grbac is your team’s starting QB, they are in *TROUBLE* unless he has a great supporting cast on offense!
I will never understand why Cunningham didn’t come into this game after those early INT’s. 2-0 as a Raven and that was it
@A Fridge Too Far what injury did he have?

Well you see skip I give my press conference an a minus
Seeing shannon pissed makes me happy.
The Steelers didn't care about Baltimore and their Feared Defense. The rivalry was on.
I still think the Steelers will be able to handle the Pats at home. They got lucky against the Raiders
I mean, if they can play like this against a better defense in Baltimore...... are we sure New England has a better D than the Ravens?
As long as they can avoid giving up multiple special teams scores they're fine.
@@SkolneyVikings They gave up one, but still got it done here
@@chrisuncleahmad as long as kordell doesn't have four turnovers.
Baltimore had much better special teams...nope don’t see the Patriots going into Pittsburgh with a Honda Civic of an offense and winning!
Elvis left the building for good after this game

Yup, We would’ve went to the super bowl in 2001 if it wasn’t for Troy Brown with the 2 special teams TD’s the week after this game 😖
