Nice growling and other stuff MrDTP,I'm going to make a prediction, cos I've seen it in my crystal ball. One day probably in the next century there will be 93s on those scrap workings?
Although I don’t approve, the rake of JHAs with all that graffiti looks impressive. A lot of that graffiti is skilfully done and proportioned just right - not easy to do close up on such a scale. In modelling terms, it would be great to have a complete rake like this running around an exhibition layout. It would be quite an eye opener. I think that this is a shocking waste of ARC stone hopper wagons. Surely they are still good enough to run out of the Mendips? Great video.
I agree with what your saying, I am in also two minds. Yes, indeed if it were possible to recreate for model rlwys, it would certainly stir a rousing debate.
They are being replaced. VTG are supplying 203 new build hopper wagons to Mendip Rail now and into 2025. These wagons are nearly 35 years old and are used intensely. Some of the old fleet, such as the O&K built wagons for Yeoman are restricted to 45mph, loaded or empty.
@@neilcrawford8303 Thank you. Mmmm…… 35 years old. How time flies. I used to enjoy standing on the platform at Westbury and watching them. Then there were the ARC and Yeoman PGAs ……!
How is it sad? These wagons are 34+ years old, plus some are restricted to 45mph, such as the O&K wagons that once belonged to Yeoman. You are aware that VTG is supplying 203 new hopper wagons, built by Greenbrier in Poland, to Mendip Rail this year and into 2025.
Max 45mph, they are a pain. Plus hundreds of new wagons including intermodal flats and big box types have been ordered in the last few years. Rail Freight is doing fine. We could have a lot more of they build the whole of HS2 as planned.
@22pcirish I notice on RTT that Mendip aggregate traffic to Tolworth is timed for 45mph, yet from Brett's at Cliffe it's 60. Tolworth being a depot with hopper discharge facilities. 45mph between the quarries and London must be a trudge for the drivers, and a pain for the schedulers and signalling staff. I assume once they are totally withdrawn, the trains can be timed for 60mph?
Excellent footage of the 37 and 56s
Hopefully 89001's return to the main line is something we can look forward to in 2025
Well done, another great video & you have captured it with fine detail! 👍
Looking good for Avocets planned return to mainline in December (fingers crossed).
Excellent video.
Superb video. Have to get back to crewe, hopefully get some tractors. Thank you.
Sounds like a good plan 👍
Nice video, liked the 56s and what I think was an 807 too
37510 somethings up with that engine for sure
In what way ?
Any chance of a video of the 2 yards at worksop please??
Amazing video of 37510
Excellent video as always 👍
Nice video :)

Nah, it'll still be 37's....probably towing the 93 for scrap 😄
Awesome as Always Mate 👏
No where for Hobo Shoestring to sleep on those wagons
Do you know when the JHAs were transferred from the mendips. Great catch
Them hoppers were still in use 10 days ago lol
In a hurry to join the baked bean cans on the supermarket shelves. 😩

They do look rather beaten about the tops, particularly the last one

Locomotive Services will have to look for more storage soon the fleet grows ever bigger lol
They'll have to call themselves Heritage Loco Services before long. If that name isn't already in use.
They’ve got plenty of room at Carlisle Upperby 👍
It’s sad they are scrapping JHA trains people have done a great deal
Of art work on them wagons
great video Love it😍😍❤❤
What happen into your Start of the Old Intro?
It’ll appear from time to time - Just depends on the time available to produce each video 👍
@@trainsplanes Ok
What exactly is a JHA?
They're aggregate hopper wagons
There’s more at York which should be going any time soon
@@aaron-y6c2d Thanks!
Who cares…..they’re just wagons. Since when have they had a following.
Wagons have feelings too pal
Why are the JHA going too scrap. Are they outdated🤔
More about condition probably
Why Are JHA’s Being Scrapped?
Age and condition probably
@@SN06BNF slow speed. Only 45mph loaded.
I never understood why these muggy little graffiti rats are drawn to the railways, much like actual rats are !
The sad state of railfreight in Britain to see such modern wagons going for scrap
Considering they were built in 1988/89, I'm not surprised that they're probably knackered
It’s fairly similar to wagon life in America, particularly for punishing work like aggregates
How is it sad?
