Having recently watched the Documentary about Mayor Chris Pappas ( only 32, fluent in isiZulu) of uMngeni Municipality on RUclips as well as Mac G's Podcast with John Steenhuisen ( also on RUclips), the DA is by far the most progressive, the most compassionate and the most experienced choice to take SA forward in 2024!!

Here is a thought: What if Jacob Zuma is the insurance policy for the ANC? Disgruntled ANC supporters will rather vote for JZ than the DA. So no coalition between MK and ANC, but a merger. That way the ANC do not lose any votes in the next election.

The only powerful people in the world are those who are spiritually powerful, characterized by their ability to control their senses and its urges, being self-satisfied and selfless. If you are internally happy and blissful, if your own peace and happiness as an individual comes from within and not from externals, then you can be selfless and then you can truly help another person.

The SA government just let things go, no urgency, no dedication. If u see the way the government officials act, don't stick to working hours, don't meet target dates, don't execute their tasks, don't care for their workplace, state assets, ect!

Roman if you want to be voted for individually then the electoral system should change to a direct elections system where we can vote for our president mayors councillors and MPs directly instead of parties doing it for us. I don't agree with R.C. regarding his "no vote sentiment." If you don't at least cast your vote, then you are not allowed to complain about the government who is in control of the country. I hate going to the poles because it's really difficult to choose which clown you want to represent you in Parliament. In the end all of them are in it for whatever they as an individual can benefit from being a member of parliament. BUT at least I can shout out loud and clear that I didn't vote for incompetence.

No. Sorry. My South African citizenship gives me the right, not my vote! Do you think someone is not a South african if they don't vote? And, a no vote is a vote in itself. It says, I don't respect, believe, or support parties/government. I stand for myself, my family, and my immediate community. I'm with Roman on this and have no problem talking about it when the "voting" issue comes up. It raises eyebrows, but voting is not about what it used to be. If not voting has taken away my right to complain, then I have stopped doing that too. Nothing will change our country. It is now what it is, and I am now only interested in community, family, and self and building my country from there. Look at you surrounding communit and see it's beauty. That is South Africa. Stop seeing the country as a whole. It's too overwhelming, and it distracts from what is right in front of our eyes. And, cut down on the time spent on news. ❤
@veronicastewart7239 why not just go and spoil your vote? That's also a way to show your dismay towards the governing party. Then, you can at least say you went to the poling station. You voted for none of these oppurtunists by spoiling your vote.
In the end, by taking the government responsibilities over, you just gave them more money to use for their own enrichment.
With the so-called government benefit more and more for doing less and less. Why then pay truckloads of taxes to an incompetent government? If all responsibilities go to individual and private companies, the government is the only party benefit, and they laugh in our faces for not doing what they are supposed to do.
In Roman's system only the rich can better their lifes and living conditions because they have the means. How many people can pull themselves out of poverty to better their own living conditions? Again, the system you and Roman recommend will again only benefit yourself because of your finances.
Poverty and crime will escalate because no one is willing to held the incompetent government of the day responsible to run our country in a manner in which it benefit all, the rich, the poor and to be blatant the millions of extreme poverty stricken people in SA.

Looking back at this discussion after 7 months one sees Cabanac was SPOT ON with his estimate of the ANC vote some months before the election. He seems to be a very self-confident young guy with some unusual opinions, but all make sense.
Not voting!? At least vote for the one closest to what you might like, even if they're not going to win, you then at least grow the size of the barricade that can be put up against a party you actually dispise.
