He invented a brand-new genre that inspired thousands of writers and directors to create frightening and fascinating stories. He's one of the most famous authors in the world, but unfortunately, his life was dark and dramatic. Edgar Poe's passing from life seemed as mysterious as his literary works. Sadly, one of the creators of detective, science fiction, and horror genres didn't receive decent money for his work.

I never get tired of reading his poem "The Raven"
Tragic but fascinating at the same time. One point of contention is that Poe did, or did not , invent science fiction. Back then it was called speculative fiction and Poe certainly had no science background. But he did have a wild imagination.
I absolutely love Edgar Allan Poe stories, my favourite one is The Black Cat!

Another well intentioned but flawed video on Poe's life filled with gossip, lies and conjecture being passed off as fact. One quick correction-Poe was NOT found in a gutter! Oh please just stop with that nonsense!
