    As a Mini 2 owner I'm excited that DJI made a proper Mini 3 for the lower price. However I don't have the money for a new drone anytime soon, so I'll still be rocking my Mini 2 and looking forward to a future Mini, or maybe the Mavic 3 Classic. I think obstacle avoidance would be nice on my next drone.

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  Год назад +4

      Yes, it's a great upgrade, but sure, a lot of people are interested in the sensors, which is funny, as they're the first things I turn off when I fly lol. The Mavic 3 Classic is a completely different beast, coming from the Mini 2 it's a monster!

  • @tecwzrd
    @tecwzrd Год назад +3

    Cost difference is fairly miniscule for just not having sensors. Love my mini 3 pro but honestly if just saving a little bit compared to the pro I don't think it's worth it. Those sensors have saved me enough times to think it's worth the extra IMO.

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  Год назад +2

      I think coming in at entry level it's pretty well priced, and no doubt the difference for Sunday fliers will make a difference, it's not the sensors that would bother me as a more advanced user, but the lack of d-log. Mind you, it graded very nicely, and I did push it quite far a couple of times in post.

    • @tecwzrd
      @tecwzrd Год назад

      @@PhillipSkraba I don't really use sensors much either, but D-Cinelike not being included would also be a deal breaker as color grading is a must sometimes. Haven't seen a full review so now I'm really wondering what else was "left out" :|

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  Год назад

      Well, I graded all of these and pushed them quite a bit, they held up nicely. D-log though is something I use all the time... but the normal profile really does a good job with the hdr in the shadows and highlights, I'm presently surprised.

    • @tecwzrd
      @tecwzrd Год назад

      @@PhillipSkraba 100% agree, I mostly only use D-Cinelike for morning/dusk shots (favoraite time to shoot) when I need to pull out excessive details from the shadows. Most 10am to 4pm shots are just fine using the normal color profile (with a good ND and/or PL filter) Really enjoy your content and have learned tons over the years watching :)

    Glad to see they added the front legs. That was a dealer killer on the 2.

      The front legs do a good job, I have no idea how they managed to make it bigger and still keep it sub 250g, damn magicians!

    I am about to buy the dji mini 3 in a few months so it is worth buying right? I have saw many reweies on social media and i think its honestly a really good choice for your first drone it is going to be my first drone too so if anyone wants to buy there first drone i highly recommend the dji mini 3

    • @PhillipSkraba

      I personally would go for the DJI Mini 3 Pro, the Mini 3 is great, but the Pro is worth the extra coconuts.

    I just bought a mini 3 just as a mini option for my flying. It’s really nice to fly. I love my m3 classic (my beast) but I felt like I wanted a mini drone again (sold my mini 2) so, I’m excited to use the vertical mode

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  5 месяцев назад

      Yes, vertical mode is great on these! I think that's where the Mini really wins over something like the Mavic or Air, the vertical mode which nowadays comes in really handy.

      @@PhillipSkraba yes, exactly. I try and throw my classic on 5.1 k and crop, but still it doesn’t do it justice. I’ve been flying the mini 3 for a couple days and it’s so easy to make reels. It’s a nice drone to carry around and pop it up wherever.

    I use mini 2. I would like to buy myself a mini 3 pro because it has object tracking sensors. I like that it weighs 249 grams, you can fly on it without additional documents to many European countries. I've crashed my drone into a wall a couple of times and it's amazing that it continues to work. The Mini 3 is a good start for beginners, especially for the price. But my choice is Mini 3 pro

    Just got mine last night and this was a huge help as I thought I bought the Mini Pro but I just got the 3. Oh well… I suppose you say the sensors aren’t so necessary anyway huh? Great vid bloke, thanks for sharing

    • @brucedon1951
      @brucedon1951 7 месяцев назад +1

      The mini 3 does not over heat like the mini pro 3 and 4 during firmware up dates and flight which would cause the drone to land and has longer flight time and i seen a 3 mile range test same camera cheaper price go with mini 3 yes they have sensors but they do not work in night flights and seening wires as such

  • @TheArtisticGardener777
    @TheArtisticGardener777 Год назад +2

    Not only does it not have obstacle avoidance, it doesn’t have active track either. Suppose this is great for a beginner drone, but if you’re upgrading from the mini 2, I would think the logical choice would be the mini 3 pro.

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  Год назад +3

      Well, it really depends on your needs. I turn avoidance off as it gets in the way of some of my flying, but I do miss d-log, so for me the Pro is great, but for a beginner the Mini 3 would be superb.

  • @gregwilsonnaturephotography

    Hey Philip, I'm still getting high with my original Mini. I still haven't used it enough to get good footage to add to a video, though I have considered the Mini 3pro for the tracking which might inspire me to try adding more of a personal touch to my videos. I always like your videos when you are out showing us how you use your drone. I think I will wait for the Mini 3 pro or what might come next. Greg

  • @waynes517

    Just ordered the Mini 3 - it's my first drone so couldn't justify the Pro. I've sacrificed the fancy controller and gone with the Fly More bundle. Nice video confirmed what I needed to know before ordering :)

      Sure! I use the Freewell filters on all my drones, PolarPro too, but for the Mini 3 series, Freewell all the way.
