Hopefully, you will enjoy the biography of Queen Anne. She is one of the most underrated rulers from history. There is so much nonsense and lies told about her, and that seems to be all people remember. Her many great achievements are all but forgotten, except by those who appreciate her triumphs through her many tragedies.

I am really looking forward to reading it! I don't know much about her life at all, so I'm excited to learn!

That book on Lenin looks enticing! I'm looking forward to hearing your reactions in the new year. The only thing I've read that comes close to analyzing the peculiarities of that period would be Catherine Merridale's "Lenin on the train".

Thanks, Joe! "Lenin on the Train" by Catherine Merridale is the only book on Lenin that I have read as well. That's the title I was trying to think of during filming that was evading me, unfortunately. I'm excited to get to it in the new year.

During Dr No-vember, I came across Rappaport's "Conspirator" and thought it would be excellent to read for the theme of spies - but reckoned it was one for you to read! Glad you found it.

I bet it would fit into a spy-themed reading event very well, indeed. I'm happy that I was able to get a copy, I had thought I had read everything of Rappaport's, so I am really happy to have stumbled across this one.

Alison Weir’s biography is one of my favorite books of all time. Read it every few years.
    Nice sweater, too!

Great haul Micah! I also haven't heard of Conspirator before - I look forward to hearing what you think. Right now I'm reading 4 books: 1) And The Band Played On by Randy Shilts, The Persian Boy by Mary Renault (also a Steve Donoghue rec), Anna Karenina for Classics and Company, and wrapping up War and Peace (after reading it all year long with tangents and footnotes on Instagram). Happy reading and Merry Christmas!!! 🎄🎅

Almost all the books I've ordered from thriftbooks have been in much lesser condition than listed and sometimes not even the correct edition. I typically e-mail them with pics of the book I received and they've given me a refund every time allowing me to keep the book. Considering that copy of Elizabeth I is definitely used, you can probably get your money back, just to let you know. One time I ordered a "new hardback" and received a paperback ARC -__-
