Thank you!! I'm currently working on getting permission to explore Bangor Cave which is on private property. Make sure you subscribe to not miss it when we do.
Thank you, Todd, for watching our video. I had a great time exploring the area and learning about it. I'm considering going back there for more exploration because I'd really like to get one of those bottles. - William
My husband and I used to go to the waterfall at Blount Springs which is now sadly an entrance to a subdivision in the late 80s when we were dating. Loved it and seeing the pool created next to it. I hate that we are not able to visit and roam around it like we use to it was beautiful!
Great video ,I was told about a civil war bunker,on hwy 31 in Blount springs, between mile marker 8 and 9 ,on the south bound lane ,it can been seen from the highway ,
@@exploringhistory not sure was told this by a neighbor, that someone in Blount County wrote a book this was in it ,but if you pass mile marker 8 almost at nine its on the left ,I'll try to ask my neighbors about it again thanks
I really enjoyed your video. It was hard to believe, looking at all the trees, that any buildings had been there at all, yet you showed us the remnants. Very well researched and presented, looking forward to seeing more of your work. I'm in London, UK.
So good man! What the heck is going on with views with this? Makes no sense. Love the comparison of the foundations and overlay locations on google maps. Crazy you found some artifacts. Something I never even thought of looking for on site like that. Great work!
Very interesting to me. I had limited information about this since it was. A place my family had visited. My great-uncle had “been cured by the sulfur water” at Blount Springs as a boy. My grandmother recalled trips there as a child early in the century. Unfortunately, being so young when I heard the stories, I wasn’t paying close attention. I suppose this explains some things I’d not considered. George Goff was an ancestor so I’m curious to know more. Some of my cousins may have answers. Thanks for your video, I’m getting too old to go climbing around in person!
David, if you look up “Blount Springs Alabama Fountain of Youth” on Facebook you can contact the author Greg Burden. He would love to hear from you and your family history regarding George Goff.
Hi, I live near where the old Geoff house was. I can show you if you wish one day. One of your distant elderly relatives gave a piece of furniture which belonged to the Geoff home to my family bc we have kept up our Victorian home which near the original Geoff house. Seemed it belonged in Blount Springs.
I live about 45 minutes from there. Been up there a couple of times about 17 years ago. I walked all around those springs. Across the road from the springs is a road that leads to a house. The house is newer but all around it is an old rock wall. I wondered what had been there. Thanks for the video. It's great!
Thank you!! Yes, I think I know what house you talking about. The one you see at the beginning of the video. I was unable to find any information on that house. The way it was built suggested that it could have been a hotel as well.
Really enjoyed your content and you have a new subscriber from across the pond 'Wales UK'. My farm is situated on a Norman mote+Bailey Hill Fort, iron age Fort and a medival celtic church(St Tilo's). Many many artifacts still waiting in the ground to be found!

I am from the area. It is not a bunker from Civil War times. It actually was built in early-mid 20th century as a stop for motorists.
Thank you! I love this area, and have tried to find out more. You've answered so many questions.
Awesome Cristie! I am glad you enjoyed the video and took the time to comment.

Hey Russell, I’m glad you enjoyed it. My only advice is be careful. Locals don’t like it very much. Enjoy!

It’s sulphuric water. Sulphur smells like rotten eggs. I live next to the springs. Trust me, no one will want to ride with you in a car afterwards.
