The Philippines is rich in its History, Arts, and Culture. Let's preserve them for the future generations.

Also, I was the one who transferred this from LP. I shared it on limewire and I guess it found its way here via an intricate web of sharing and posting. It is from the mono version of the LP and has scratches and pops in exactly the same places as my transfer.

Sylvia la Torre is one of the best if not the best filipino soprano. Her technique, timbre and quality of voice is the best for me. She maintains the quality of voice througout the song and very versatile, be it kundiman, novelty songs. popular songs, balitaw , etc. she can do it all. I have never heard of any pilipina singer like her today. Hopefully in the near future a singer like her will emerge and maybe for a long, long time.

Her teacher was Soprano Salvation Oppus Yniguez. One of the best sopranos in the land. Other graduates of hers were Irma Potenciano(sister of Armida Sigion Reyna) and Gloria Dizon Coronel of Tribung Pinoy. All teachers from the UST Conservatory of Music. Blessed to be one of the graduates of Maestra Yniguez....

This is a Cebuano song. The composer of the song is Zacarias Ravina from Cebu. I've never heared the Cebuano version of the song, but when I heard this song it noticed it had a definite Visayan song style. So I looked up the composer on the LP. Tagalog lyricist Levi Celerio supplied the Tagalog lyrics.
