Nice run by See The Fire beaten less than 3 lengths running on ... should have an interesting year next year ... makes you wonder what Kalpana would have done in this field ... I'm thinking the same as she did earlier ... Win
Wonderful race! Calandagan is still my boy. Missed the break and definitely didn’t have the best trip or his usual kick, but the winner ran a great race. I have a feeling that the ground on the inside was a bit deep. Congrats to anyone that had the winning ticket!
@@Thomas-vg8ovAgreed, and messy is the right word. Calandagan is probably the best Group 1 horse I’ve seen that consistently races that hasn’t actually won a Group 1. Hopefully, they’ll give him a nice rest and come back strong next year. Maybe third try will be the charm.

I actually think that because he's had a bit of a lay off it might just have effected him a little? Everyone was trying to get off the rail today and he was stuck on it almost all the way around. I bet he’s exhausted from running on that alone, not to mention the other trouble. As hard and fast as they ran in the Juddemonte, I think they made the right decision not to run him back quickly. I also think this was the right spot for him and that he ran great. Tried his heart out. Just wasn’t his day. I think extremely highly of him and he’s a gelding, so I’m hoping the connections don’t feel the pressure or the rush. He has a real chance to be the #1 middle distance turf horse in the world next year. I could be wrong, but I don’t think he has a chance to win the BC turf for the reasons stated above. If he were well rested, I’d say heck yeah! I think they’ll make the best decision for him though because they’ve been taking their time and choosing his spots carefully so far.

He was on the deepest part of the track all the way around today. After watching the replays from today, everyone was trying to get off the rail, but he had no choice. He ran great and tried his heart out. They’ve done right by him so far, and I hope they don’t risk it. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think it’s asking too much and that he won’t run well if he were to go.

I think Economics should be retired now. He obviously puts so much into his racing that it's causing him serious harm. The same thing happened Best Mate although he was much older.
Last week Alphonse Le Grande was controversially disqualified from winning the Cesarewith for breaching the whip rules. A week later, Anamat wins the most valuable race on Champions day - barging Economics out the way in the process, and not a word by the stewards. It's considered cheating, if you use your whip, 4 strokes above the whip limit. But why not careless riding? Had Jim Crowley taken a pull to prevent interfering with Economics - its fair to say, it would have impeded his late flourish, and prevented him from winning. Jim Crowley's ride is considered fair, and within the rules of racing. When clearly in pursuit of winning a valuable race, he is no less guilty, than Jamie Powell the 3lb claimer disqualified from winning the Ceserawiitch.

Was his ride - win the race by any means necessary, even if infraction of the rules.? I think so, yet neither horse or jockey was reprimanded by the stewards.

i woulda had £3 at 33s to win 100, but i got an email from the Racing Post this morning offering 5 £10 bets if you opened an account and invested £10 with Skybet. So I had 2 horses in each of the 3 big races, and picked up £330. Is it churlish that I was annoyed not to get paid out at the 40/1 SP?
never liked los Angeles for this race just too short distance too fastly ran too quick but he ran well enough got trapped up on the run in and just lost his stride but could see pace never suited him at this distance i think he'd be better at 1m6f than 1m1f. 1m4f being preferred. Really nice race by Anmatt and Royal Rhyme.
@@thecritic81 champion trainer is awarded by prize money. Not by wins. Prize money is so poor in England that if you win the Epsom derby and pick up some prize money here and there you'll be champion trainer.

I like watching hurdling but I prefer hurdlers on the hurdling track, no way could we see the best race today.

As a fan of Calandagan, that trip today was frustrating. He ran great considering. He was on the inside rail all the way around on a day that everyone was trying to get off of it. In addition to that, he completely missed the break and got bottled up and knocked around. If he gets beaten with a better trip, then I’ll reevaluate, but this was a messy race for several horses.

Anmaat never had to switch leads and ran straight through a gap that calandagan opened up after changing leads multiple times to try and find the gap. Calandagan clearly the best. Everyone on here claiming to have had the mortgage on Anmaat because he’s clearly the best horse are delusional 😅😂
He ran a great race considering he was slow out of the stalls and had to make up the ground. He was the best horse in the race to finish 2nd in that ground from last position on that ground. Terrific horse

Calandagan should have hosed up but it just wasn't his day. Economics came with a winning run but bled, so it wasn't his true running. I still believe he's the best horse. Anmaat was over-looked after he bounced at Longchamp but still you could run this race 10 times and he would only win once. Congrats to him and his team! 😊
Race was never going to suit Calandagan. You don’t want to be held up on the rail round Ascot on soft. Suits being prominent. That’s what got Baaeed beat last year
