One of the few great shows that stuck the landing at the end.
Exceptionally well done commercial for the final episode of one of my very favorite television shows of all time. I am going to miss Mad Men.
This show was so nostalgic for me because I grew up during this era. I was a toddler but I remember everything about the 60’s and 70’s...from the way women were sexualized and disrespected to the smoking and drinking around anybody and everyone smoked and drank...they studied the hell out of this era and nailed it! I remember Paul Anka singing this song and how my mother loved it so much and would sing it all the time. Like Betty, my mom developed cancer in her later years and died. I know what Sally must have been going through when her mom gave her that letter of her final wishes. This series was so my life growing up and Don was right about nostalgia...because like I said before this series was nostalgic to me. The series finale commercial still makes me long for the show and yesteryear! I have watched this series 5x already and I will soon make it 6. I just can’t get enough and I’m so glad Don found peace in the end. I absolutely love all of the characters! No show will ever top this one! This one broke the mold! 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️
I will forever love this commercial. Remember when they did 4 day long marathon leading up to the finale and they kept playing this commercial? It gave me goosebumps and it gives me goosebumps now. Well done commercial! It's going to haunt me. Best 4 day binge ever, next to Breaking Bad 🖤
I looked EVERYWHERE for this Paul Anka song, cos first time I heard "Time Of Your Life" on the radio, I cried. Combed through every Paul Anka album. WTF? Then I learned a few years before I was born, the song was written for a Kodak commercial in 1975. Unless Kodak has the rights to that song, I don't know why it is never featured on his compilation albums. It's a great song. Tugging af on the heart strings.
Yes! Breaking Bad and Mad Men can never be topped! Period! 🥰❤️
just watched this 5 times. I don't want it to end!
I love this commercial. Chokes me up everytime I see it.
THIS short clip made me CRY....GOD am I gonna miss this show.....
Made me cry, especially after finding about Betty. I'm really going to miss this show.
Going to miss watching Don Draper, Roger Sterling & the rest of the motley crew at Sterling Cooper & Partners!! What a great run!
Here again in December 2020...just can’t get enough of Mad Men! Best show ever! 🥰
January 2021 Watching from the beginning & reliving history
I love this commercial. Beautifully executed and a work of art, I will miss this show and it's characters.
This song was actually was Composed for the Kodak Camera Commercial. Paul Anka also performs this Song in Concert where you see an Evolution of him, His Family, his Five Daughters Alexandra, Amelia, Amanda, Alicia and Anthea as well as his Son Ethan. Also, I think of how much Bank Pam Sawyer got when Love Hangover was used in another Promo.
Even the commercials for mad men were classy …..
I love this ad. I admit I cry each time I see it. I love MAD MAN and loved the ending. Sunday nights won't be the same at all without Don Draper in my living room and I don't think anyone else could have played him except John Hamm. Love them all but it's time John H wins an Emmy!! P.S. I remember my 9th grade Math teacher yelling at us to "quit singing that Coke song"!!! :-))) Wish the cast the best.
It's been exactly a year since this show ended and I'm still devastated it's over 😔
Me too.
I’m watching reruns on amc on demand and it just ended for me AGAIN. It died, they brought it back to life, now it’s dead again. 😢
Just heard this Paul Anka tune on another commercial, and it brought me back to this Mad Men Promo. Funny how music can just trigger a memory ♥️
You're right that music does that. Every time I see that detergent commercial now, I come back to watch this
My grandparents use to play Paul Anka and other old crooners for our Sunday dinners back in the 70s. Back then while I enjoyed the melodies I didn't think much about what they meant to them as they were in their senior years and a song like this makes you cherish life as you get older. Hearing this song reappear for the Mad Men fiinale made me remember my now deceased grandparents and it literally made me cry.
How I miss this show so much
The final season and finale coincided with a particularly happy time in my life. That’s why I can’t go back and rewatch the series. I want to rewatch it in 2015!
I love this look back.... Sally:'(
Perfectly done
Wasn't the last 40 seconds of the series finale great?! (*Spoiler: Don't read on if you haven't watched it yet.*) That iconic Coca Cola ad really hits home with many of us who remember seeing it on TV as Don ends the series at the peak of his creative genius. The Kodak Carousel pitch and "I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke" bookend the series beautifully. Draper will always be a Mad Man. Thanks MW!
Shatner Method I agree. Many comments I've read were disappointed that Don didn't change or go back to being Dick Whitman. For me that makes no sense because Dick was a memory to Don and the entire series was about the evolution of a re-invented man, not someone who is so sick with regret that he goes back to where he started. Even though the ending has partial closure it is somewhat ambiguous about Don's life moving forward, but I'm okay with that. Good stories always leave us wanting more and letting your own minds fill in the unknown future. Mad Men ended on a bittersweet note, as it should.
Well put!
Don, Roger, Bert, Pete, Betty, Peggy, Joan, Sally, Megan...finally the once a warm welcoming and beautiful Drapers' apartment.....
grieving, just grieving ...
Just perfect.
Fuck I'm going to miss this show.
Thank you
Share a Coke with Mad Men!
I forget to mention that they did a slideshow, with the song.
This kills me
This commercial was actually better then the finale itself.
0:30 Lol, Roger
Hi I'm trying to remember what was the song that AMC played before airing the last episode of Mad Men?
:'(
I never thought Jon Hamm could act his way out of a paper bag.
It is funny though. I thought he could act & he was great as Don Draper. I thought he would have become a bigger star but I think he missed the boat. He’s done some movies (which I haven’t seen) but I think he had his time in the sun. Also, I just noticed you posted this a year ago. Just want to let you know. It’s all screwed up in 2020. Run!
Remember when is the lowest form of conversation
"Hitman: Agent 47" brought me here.
