Incredible to think how far this show has come . I recall before the show gained momentum Steve did bike repair videos on TWMX for a brief period. Awesome to see the success. I listen every week while driving
There is a picture in a magazine (I can’t remember which one) where DV is hammering a sand dune with one hand on the bars and the other hand is back dragging in the sand. He was sooo laid over. It is a beautiful moment in time.
I like the comment the caller (eli fan) had with chase, I think chase is gonna gain a lot of Eli's fans when Eli hangs up the boots. Chase's attitude is amazing, he never gives up and all around stand up guy. I'm a big Eli fan but find myself cheering for chase now.
@@ladylog5470 maybe, but with how much Chase crashes he is much more likely to be injured. Jett has only been injured once that I can remember in his entire career
@chrisclifford4109 yeah, but things happen, eli had the SX championship in the bag but chase got that #1. Jett a good dude also, but chase takes it all on chin and keeps doing interviews. Can you imagine how Eli would take it if DV told him he seemed to lose focus lol
@@todddooley793 I do agree that it’s admirable that Chase keeps doing interviews, but what is he supposed to say? Deny it? He’s made dumb mistakes his entire career and it’s plain to see. It’s good he owns it, and hopefully he can overcome it. His own mental struggles are what’s holding him back
DV has always been one of my favorite riders. I love him even more now after watching this. Talk about being honest! So awesome to hear him and MC. Good ole days.Amazing show, Steve!!
Jett is great BUT the field is OLD, injured and beat up. The field is getting DROPPED by second and third place by 30-40, 50 seconds or more starting with 3rd on down. Factory teams have old leadership and its starting to reflect in the rider times. Aldon's program is looking old. His riders are tired, and getting smoked. Just my take...
2 things, I think DV has to be one the smartest Moto guys out there. His knowledge of dates and races is crazy. Absolutely one of the best episodes to date. 2nd, the comments about Milllville being one line is perplexing. I say this because Hunter was passsing everywhere… so I ask why can he pass anywhere on the track yet Chase spine about it as being an issue. You see Hunter every week looking for different lines, yet I remember in SX, RC and JS commenting about him not changing lines, and riding the same line till it killed him. Just an observation, perhaps he’s the issue in some instances and not the track
I disagree with DV saying that he doesn't believe in talent. Some people have a natural ability/affinity for different things .... aka talent. Like Stewart said, he was born with something, and I believe it. Yes, you have to put in a lot of work to reach the top of any sport or discipline, but that natural ability base has to be there.
54:10 It's interesting that DV was as impressed and shocked when Stewart endo'd at Daytona, and immediately did the wall jump. I remember being there, watching it live, and clearly remember the disbelief that I felt when he got up, seemed to be concussed, and did the wall jump the next time he encountered it. Not even rolling it for a few laps, and then maybe trying it again. No, next time he encountered it, he hit it, like nothing ---- like it's just normal. Normal to him, but NOBODY was even trying it. Insanity. You could hear a collective gasp from the crowd every time he jumped it.
DV rocks. They need him on there much, much more. Overall, MC was the most talented, measured, and innovative rider, but that was SX only. He was Stew (at the time), RC, and smooth like we see Jett this 450 outdoor season. Nobody in MX has been all three. If Jett continues to crush it for several years, being able to ride the 450 like see now, and he gets let's say 4-5 titles, AND his popularity crosses over the industry and gets notoriety like MC did, I wonder if he'll stick around or move to another sport to make big money and a new challenge. Wardy did pretty good with it. Doesn't happen much, though.
I would like to know how Chase got roost going around a right hand corner 6 to 8 bike lengths behind. I think he listened to JS7 and tucked the front end son for an excuse.

that's hilarious.. it doesn't seem like DB or Steve caught it when CHase said he wanted to go to motocross of nations but it's a complicated year... it's clearly because of the transition to KTM but he couldn't say it and nobody mentioned it.. i thought it was kind of funny.
The reason you can't talk about bikes, tires, etc. in SX/MX is because the sport has been dominated by Japanese OEMs for decades- and that goes against Japanese business culture. I mean this is just my theory, but having worked for a large very Japanese company for a number of years, that's immediately what strikes me as the differentiating factor.
