I love this. Sounds like the Human waste version, should have done the whole Breeding the Spawn album like this. Original album production sounds like pillows over the speakers. This is much punchier
I wore a hole in this cassette tape listening to this song. The bass is fucking sick. The vocals are mental. The guitar playing is incomprehensible. The drumming is relentless. I like the first album when it came out but this version of this song made me an official Suffocation fan. I wish Breeding the Spawn production sounded like this demo version…
This is not a demo version. This song was recorded in a professional studio for this Roadrunner Compilation album, months before they recorded Breeding The Spawn there. From the very beginning Scott Burns and Morrisound were never in the picture. The band knew that they weren’t going to Florida to record with Scott Burns from day one.
They did record at the same studio with the same guy. The problem is the bass player didn’t like this recording, especially the vocals So he got the band all worked up and they pretty much handcuffed the producer as far as what they wanted, and Breeding was the result of that. The album sucks and they blame the producer, meanwhile he only did what they wanted.
Agreed! I've always thought this version was definitely better than the Breeding the Spawn album!!! Breeding the Spawn was just missing something...it was very dry, hollow, echo-ish sounding. Didn't have the fullness or punch of this version.
Roadrunner their label totally fucked them at the last min saying they couldnt record at Morrisound w Burns again and had to use a rinky dink studio as they thought they had booked Morrisound and had to scramble to get in somewhere as they all still had regular day jobs and had gotten the time off for a month to record Breeding.
@@rustykuntz94 yup figures. That fucking sucks. There are a few other killer albums that have shitty production and could be absolute monsters of albums if they just had a decent mix and recording. To name a few-this one, Krisiun "Ageless Venemous," and Immolation "Failures for Gods."

I absolutely love this version but deeply love the Focus version. Almost 2 different songs altogether, the Tony Choy spot right after the solo is eargasmic. I kind wish Malone kept that part but again I f’n love what Malone did for this tune as well…decisions…

Its hard to believe that almost 30 years later, this song with this particular recording is as brutal and technical as anything you hear from today (Cerebral Effusion, Defeated Sanity, Putridity, Disgorge...etc). They were ahead of their time IMO. I wish BTS had this recording sound. I believe people's perception of the album would be different in favor of it.
