I had the pleasure of meeting Monsieur Aznavour when he was in concert in Southport, England. I believe it was in maybe 1975. I walked to the stage with a rose, and his back was to the audience as he was between songs and facing his orchestra behind him, They told him I was standing waiting for him to turn around, and he cme over to me and bent down, took the rose, held my hand and kissed me on the cheek and thanked me.....I was in awe of him...a fantastic artiste on stage. Absolutely beautiful !!!This is one of the most moving, beautiful songs I've ever heard In my life. The lyrics are so special its hard to express the emotional power.
A song that brings a quiet reflection to any man of an age who has endured many hard, rutted miles of dirt road that has passed under his hood. Youthful romances, homelessness, entry level hard labor jobs, war, marriage, child raising, struggles to survive, thrive and be successful. Experience success and wearily but happily enter retirement. Great song for reflection with a mug of black coffee before the night time warmth of a fireplace.
When I hear your voice it fulfills the yearning my soul seeks. Tears fall down cheeks when I listen to your music. Thanks for the memories. I am 65 years old and remember my parents introducing your music to us
Nice meeting you here in this site!! How are you doing over there today gorgeous!! You are looking beautiful and gorgeous just can’t take off my eyes from your profile pictures!! Omg what a charming eyes and lips??
You have to be of a 'certain age' to really understand this song. Life is fleeting, and goes by SO fast - you don't realize that some of your fondest memories may have happened 50 or 60 + years ago ! " Much more behind you, than ahead of you..." A sobering thought, for sure. Thanks for the reminder, Willie.
I just love singers that have their own style. Willie,Ray,Frank,Bing,Elvis, just to name a few. They can take songs that have been recorded by many artists and still make the song their own. I, myself have been listening to this beautiful music for over 60 years and so much of it still brings chills to my bones and tears to my eyes. I really don't know anything about modern music (the last 30 years) but I hope that there are still artists that can be as memorable as the ones that I love.
Willie..., Yesterday will live for ever in your voice, in yours words in yours songs. You have seed love, felling, sentiments in millions harts, in ours memories with yours. THANKS
I’m sure many of us listening to this beautiful song feel it is about our life. Live your life with meaning, make memories that will last a lifetime so that when you are in the twilight of your life you will have no regrets, which most of us do have. Live your life so you will be able to think back on your life with only love and happiness., not regrets , sorrow and loneliness. Remember....the street of life is only one way.

I have met my wife in San Francisco. It was July 14, French national holiday. She has just arrived weeks ago from Japan. I studied at the time across the Bay, in Berkeley. We were supposed to meet some people who never showed up. Her eyes! I knew that my life will never be the same. Not long after that I took her home to Belgrade, Serbia. She, my wonderful American but really an alien sent to rescue me from the sadness and loneliness of this world. And here we are 21 years later and two wonderful children later I feel the same exquisite sensation every time I see her eyes. I wish you all love and a special someone.

I then had to mke my wy back to my seat in the 5th row, I believe, with the whole theater watching. I tried to act as cool as a cucumber and then sat back beside my friend who didn't believe that I would do it, and just stared ahead lol
Willie just gave a wonderful rendition of this beautiful song
@@KathieRopele74 how are you, doing good I hope. indeed he’s an amazing artist with such a nice song 🎵 that touched my heart ❤️ can I please ask you a question??
You brought meaning to this song in my mind.
The Spirit of God lives within our Minds and to the very Soul of each one. No one knows us better than our minds.
This might just have become my favorite version of this song. Thank you, Willie.
The most moving Willie
This is probably the best ever English version of this song, Charles Aznazvour must be very proud
Roy Clark’s version is also very good
@@mk11fan87 I love Roy’s version!
Dusty Springfield made a good version in the '60s.

Absolutely beautiful !!!This is one of the most moving, beautiful songs I've ever heard In my life. The lyrics are so special its hard to express the emotional power.
You're right. I get emotional all the time I hear this song.
Willie I have always loved your voice, I love your face, and this is a very fine interpretation of a wonderful song.
This song has unique emotional power on me. It touches all my hidden feelings. What a great VOICE!!!
When I hear your voice it fulfills
the yearning my soul seeks. Tears fall down cheeks when I listen to your music.
Thanks for the memories. I am 65 years old and remember my parents introducing your music to us
Hello Michaela
Hello there he is a good Singer
Nice meeting you here in this site!!
How are you doing over there today gorgeous!! You are looking beautiful and gorgeous just can’t take off my eyes from your profile pictures!! Omg what a charming eyes and lips??
Hello Michaela how are you doing!!
You have to be of a 'certain age' to really understand this song. Life is fleeting, and goes by SO fast - you don't realize that some of your fondest memories may have happened 50 or 60 + years ago !
" Much more behind you, than ahead of you..."
A sobering thought, for sure. Thanks for the reminder, Willie.
My God, I'm 70 year old now. Life is a dream... so short.
Bel hommage de ce merveilleux interprete , a notre genial parolier qu'etait AZNAVOUR.......I LOVE SO MUCH THESE GIANTS !
First time I heard and emotionally attached 😢and remembered olden days , great singer thanks a lot.
That's what I say* yesterday when I was young. I Love You Willie & Thank You.
Hello Anne
Hello there

I’m sure many of us listening to this beautiful song feel it is about our life.
Live your life with meaning, make memories that will last a lifetime so that when you are in the twilight of your life you will have no regrets, which most of us do have. Live your life so you will be able to think back on your life with only love and happiness., not regrets , sorrow and loneliness. Remember....the street of life is only one way.

So beautiful yet so painful. It brings backs to the early years when everything was so simple. When life expectations is just to be happy ....

Wa
That’s great
Oh yes... it made me cry!
Totally agree
I have met my wife in San Francisco. It was July 14, French national holiday. She has just arrived weeks ago from Japan. I studied at the time across the Bay, in Berkeley. We were supposed to meet some
people who never showed up. Her eyes! I knew that my life will never be the same. Not long after that I took her home to Belgrade, Serbia.
She, my wonderful American but really an alien sent to rescue me from the
sadness and loneliness of this world. And here we are 21 years later and two wonderful children later I feel the same exquisite sensation every time I see her eyes. I wish you all love and a special someone.
Righteous Willie. So fine, so honest, so real. I really dug it now.
Two of the things I loved too much in music world : Willie and this french song ! both at the same ..... a miracle happened !
