The Lyrics are actually very sad from a sympathetic standpoint. Imagine enduring all of that pain that William Afton dealt with,even if he did kill 5 innocent souls. It must've been agonizing.
right! the first time i’ve ever listened to the song i was mesmerized by the lyrics and his vocals, but the more i listened to it (specifically the no happy endings loop part) it actually made me feel a little bad for him, waiting 30 years to be rediscovered after dying such a horrific death and basically alone during it too :/ like you said, i do not condone what he did but it definitely was more than agonizing, considering all he wanted was to bring his son back to life and he had to take not so favorable/moral measures to do so
