Nestled on the dramatic North Devon coast, Westward Ho! beckons with a unique charm, blending Victorian heritage with a vibrant seaside atmosphere. Here's why this delightful village deserves a spot on your travel itinerary:
*Step Back in Time:* Wander through Westward Ho! and you'll be transported to a bygone era. Victorian-era architecture graces the streets, a testament to the village's planned development as a seaside resort in the mid-1800s. Consistent Atlantic swells ensure year-round rolling waves, perfect for beginners and intermediate surfers. Gentle slopes on the wide, sandy beach provide a safe and confidence-boosting environment to learn or hone your skills. Experienced surfers won't be disappointed either, with both left and right-hand breaks offering variety.
*Explore the Natural Wonders:* Westward Ho! isn't just about the beach. The village sits within the North Devon Coast, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Lace up your walking boots and embark on scenic hikes along the dramatic coastline, taking in breathtaking sea views and rugged cliffs. Explore the vast expanse of Northam Burrows, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, where a rich tapestry of flora and fauna awaits discovery.
*Unwind by the Sea:* Sometimes, the simplest pleasures are the most rewarding. Westward Ho! invites relaxation on its golden sands. Soak up the warm sunshine, feel the soft sand between your toes, and listen to the rhythmic sound of the waves crashing against the shore. Build sandcastles with the family, enjoy a refreshing dip in the sea, or simply lie back and lose yourself in a good book.

Stayed at Braddicks in 60s with Mum Dad and sisters. Very basic wooden chalet. The name Braddicks was on plates cups and saucers. Not very much to do then for teenagers. We still enjoyed. Good memories. I’m 72 now ❤

We went there a few years ago, lovely place. Couldn't believe the tides there. During a very high tide the waves crash over the wall where you standing on the 18 minute mark but then goes out past the swimming pool. Great places to visit nearby too.

What a stunning location. I've never been there before, but this is now on my list of places to visit. We love our coastal holidays with our dog, and this looks perfect. Not sure if the dogs are allowed on the beach there, I'll have to check it out. But from your video it looks like everything we like about UK seaside holidays! Thanks for posting.

Another enjoyable video thank you Mr Gimbal 😬. Can I request that on each video you say what month you're filming, as well as week day and time? The month is useful for gauging weather and crowds. Thank you.

Hi, lovley vidios, but I want to hear the sea and the places atmosphere. Not the "twinkly" music. It does t need to be there, let the place speak for itself xxx
